We started off with a meeting with Tom, who was extremely nice and friendly! He made it seem like everything would be so amazing. He mentioned that we would have someone who was in charge of our job and over see it. We told him what we wanted and we were pretty clear, everything was great. It came time to signed the contract and then it ended up being... Oh I didn't know you wanted that, that will be $400 for each rock etc. Which was a little annoying since we were clear the day that we spoke with him originally. Regardless we went thru with it and added it on. Our whole job ended up being around $37 or $38k I believe. (My husband added on some stuff so I may be over or under) We were set to start September 5 with a completion date of Oct 16th. Day 1 demo went by super quick. They were done within a day. Which i was originally really excited about until I saw the big chuck that was taken out of our house. That was hiccup one. Hiccup #2...we weren't even introduced to a job site manager.... it wasn't till few weeks later we learned it was Juan. We didn't even get Juan's number so we could reach out directly if we had an issue. We had to go thru the answering service the company provides and wait for a call back if we had an issue. After that things progressed fairly quickly. We felt like we were left in the dark as to what was happening each day. The office said we would be called the night before in regards to who was coming. Sometimes we didn't even receive a call. Most of the time they were coming out and working while we were both at work, so we were unable to over see things. When it came to the tile work they were sloppy. First of all they never even showed me the tile before installing it, which looked nothing like the catalog. It was way darker than shown. Had that been the case I probably would have sent it back and gotten the lighter tile. But now I am stuck with it so oh well. Its not terrible just not what I would have put in. But after the work was done I had to go out and mark every tile that was messed up and crooked. They came back out and fixed their work, which I appreciated. The rock guy Juan was awesome. He did a great job with his work and even made as additional accent rock on the side of our steps without saying anything. The rocks ended up being a little darker than I originally wanted but in the long run, the contrast against the concrete worked out perfect and I love them. He really listened to what we wanted. Now come the most awful part of it :( (I WILL ATTACH PHOTOS) The concrete work...... I cannot say enough how SLOPPY and RUSHED this job felt. I was BEYOND disappointed in our decking. Mind you this is only September 18th at this point....13 days after they started the job. They were moving so fast thru everything...and it really showed in the concrete. First of all, they got concrete ALL over our alumawood patio cover. My husband was able to scrub some of it off but the rest is stuck there forever and now looks extremely trashy. They also did a terrible job concreting around it. Mind you its not even a month since they have poured and my concrete has a huge crack in it around the posts to my patio cover. Second of all, they did a terrible job concreting around my pool rocks. It is all crumbling and chipping away. I was just outside washing off the patio and the pressure from my garden hose was chipping the concrete away. It looks unfinished and very sloppy. Third, there was a piece of styrofoam that got concreted into our decking. Which, ok whatever... things happen. They came back out to fix it which we really appreciated (and expected). Today when i washed off the patio I came to find out that they patched it with a totally different color so when it gets wet it looks like there is a big rust spot on our deck. Which it will always be visible because its right next to the pool and will get wet when its being used. Other issues, there are chunks missing from the corner, the lines they made are not all even and some even touch, the corners where the lines touch are super sloppy and have chunks of concrete... I may sound like I'm being super picky but after spending almost $40,000.00 I expect things to be done with pride and done right. On to the caulking they put around the pool between the concrete and coping.... They got it all over our concrete so now we have huge tan spots on our brand new concrete that we can't get off. Some of the caulking has a gap in it around the pool, one spot looks shiny and not like the rest. We were told Juan would come out to collect final payment. Well it was not juan! We showed them all the things that were wrong and they took pictures. Saying that they would pass them along to the boss. We still haven't received a call or email in regards to that...nothing. Update on pool remodel! As of this date the owner, Daniel, of Ultimate Pool Remodeling, has not made any attempt to come to my property to address my concerns. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, they contacted him, he denied any wrongdoing on his part, and they believed him, so nothing was done. I have since filed a complaint with the State Contractors Board and am awaiting a reply from them. They sent me a letter saying they instructed the company to contact me within 7 days but, of course, I have not heard from them. My expectations are not positive regarding my complaint, but nonetheless, I'm exploring every avenue to get some satisfaction. I am adding more photos of results of the shoddy remodel job that show what the rough finish of plaster job can do to your body, the dead tree I have to pay to have removed due to their neglect of my sprinkler system, and a photo of the rails they damaged and that I had to pay someone to reinstall them. The price went from $30k to $60 in a flash and unfortunately I did not even receive a $30 job. I'm asking for a $5000 refund to enable me to paint the concrete pool decking in order to camouflage the inferior finish. Considering all the things that are wrong, the amount I have requested should not be a hardship on the company and would go a long way in creating goodwill. In comparison, I hired Paramount Landscape to repair and update my sprinkler system in my back yard. The job was done this past Spring and I noticed some issues where the sprinklers were not working. The owner came back last week and personally repaired what had been chewed on by unknown rodents and spent two hours making sure everything was working well. No charge, no excuses and no ignoring my concerns. This is how a company should be run! Take note! Do not use the company under any circumstances! I had a full pool remodel by ultimate pool remodeling. The existing pool had a deteriorating concrete deck. Ultimate pool remodeling put in a new paver deck and coping, new tile and quartz plaster. Their pricing was transparent and reasonable. They finished the project a few days ahead of time. Overall the quality of the pavers and the coping was very good. The tile and the quartz plaster look great. There were two small issues which were fixed promptly and to my satisfaction as soon as I brought them up. read more

So far disappointed and confused by this process. Getting work should be simple and straightforward... Work and payments were nicely laid out on contract. There was check #1 due after demolition; check #2 after tile; check #3 after quarts application; and lastly check #4 after removal and replacement of spa light, white plastic joint inserts on pool deck, and additional tile on steps. Check #1 and #2 were provided after completion of this work; however, I just found out that check #4 was also demanded, but this work has NOT been completed. Run! Do NOT hire this company. The salesman will promise you everything you want and then you're left with the opposite. The company is too cheap to provide a port a potty, so the workers urinate on the side of your house. If you complain about something the owner threatens to pull the workers off the job even if they're working on something completely different. The office staff will lie and tell you the owner is out of town when he is not. If you try to make some sort of compromise the owner will refuse and tell you too bad. Oh and they also hid a ton of gravel and cement that should have been hauled away under a layer of dirt so we didn't find it until we were preparing to put sod down. While I cannot judge the quality of a brand new pool or Jacuzzi construction, I can only speak on the services that we sought from ultimate pool remodeling company. We had them give us an estimate to do I work for resurfacing and plastering and they had us sign a contract that did not guarantee color stain but within a few months not even a full year the color started to wash away they said it would give us some years before feeding but it did not even last one year. We tried to get them to come out and every single time they two weeks, two weeks. These two week portions are now years, and now their warranty is void it was all gimmicks and games with this company and I would not recommend them to my worst enemy to do a pool plaster job for them read more

When we purchased our home it had an older pool with no jacuzzi. We spent over a year trying to find a company to remodel our pool. After countless disappointing appointments with either the person never showing up, never receiving a quote that was promised or finding out they were not licensed. Uneven tile, drip lines in the plaster coming from every nozzle, sharp edges where they cut the concrete and now we have rebar poking up out of the pool. I dont understand how rebar is pertruding from the plaster but it is a huge safety hazard. Once they have you're money they stop caring! I had a sales rep come out and spend a few hours with me. We talked about what I wanted and he measured my current pool, gave me ideas and options. Prior to leaving he left a brochure and told me he would email me a quote within in a few days. I really felt comfortable with this person and was looking forward to my quote because this seemed like a great company to work with. I liked the reps sales pitch and background better than anyone else I had come out to quote me. Sadly, I never heard back from him. I didn't call or ask where my quote was because I am of the opinion that if you don't get back to me like you say you will, you don't want my business, and it's indicative of what future service will be. A few months later I got an email from Daniel asking if I had made a decision on my pool remodel. I responded to him that I never received a quote back from the company. Daniel remodeled my pool, pool equipment, removed my old concrete decking and replaced with pavers. Beautiful work, finished earlier then expected, and came in on what we budgeted for. He has the nicest group of guys that work for him, friendly, happy, show up on time. Some pavers have started to shift and lift as the pool remodel was done about 3 and a half years ago. We contacted Daniel and he sent a couple of guys out to fix all of the ones that have shifted and lifted and refilled them with sand. Ultimate Pools recently completed a $55k+ major remodel of my pool/spa combo including engineering, raising the pool bottom, adding loveseats and roman steps, quartz plaster and new tile/deck with a raised planter, a complete re-plumb with IntelliFlo pump, Delta UV sanitation and EasyTouch8 control system w/ Intellichlor salt chlorine generator. I chose Ultimate because of all the bidders, they were the best overall value with the best and most thoughtful ideas and willingness to integrate their work with work I self-performed (I'm a former contractor) and also because they perform all scope with tenured employees, versus the other bidders who broker their work using subs. Ultimate also had the most attractive schedule and contingencies for weather protection during construction, although El Nino turned out to be a non-issue. The work progressed smoothly, on or ahead of schedule, with payments due upon completion of milestones at discrete phases of work. No advance payment was required. The PM (Juan) was polite, knowledgeable and kept me apprised of the work completed and a kept a 1-week look-ahead calendar. During construction, Ultimate was very flexible about layout, minor scope changes at no cost and field art direction by my wife for the roman steps, loveseats, planter and raising the pool bottom. Pricing for some additional scope was agreed with transparency of labor and equipment estimates to arrive at reasonable pricing. I dealt directly with Daniel, the owner, on these issues. He was responsive and fair. Because they self-perform all work by discrete, dedicated crews, there were some "no work" days built into schedule and advised up front. Each crew was polite, had an English-speaking lead and left my yard broom-clean each day with no debris stored on site. This was important for the safety of my family and dog. I inspected the work daily and on the whole job I found only a few minor problems, which were corrected immediately and none of which were out of code compliance. For example, there were a few times that detailed layout info wasn't completely communicated from one crew to the next (such as from masonry to plumbing regarding finish elevation of the new deck) but again, these corrections were made by Ultimate with no lost time or other issues. If you're changing to a saltwater pool and/or installing a new wifi controller, I highly recommend having Ultimate do the startup after water fill, which includes setup/training of the controller and apps, loading in the salt and discussing water chemistry, especially with a UV sanitation system working in tandem with salt-based chlorine. A few months after completion, I contacted Ultimate for an issue that turned out not to be warranty-related because it was not in their original scope. Daniel was very responsive, sent the crew out within days to investigate and quoted me a fair price to do the work. read more

Very poor service delivery. Back in August I contacted them to give me a quote on an entire pool remodel. They were too expensive as was other companies so I split it up and gave a portion of the job to several different companies to save money. It has worked out great but now that all that is left to be done is tile and plaster I contacted Ultimate again to get a quote for only the tile and plaster. Their employee that came out before, Shawn, had given me his business card and told me if I need to reach out to him to call him directly. I called Shawn twice. I really wanted to go with WestCoast because they get 5 stars across the board, and I met the owner, who seemed hard working and honest. But, they were booked all summer and I selfishly wanted mine to be done sooner. I see that decision was a mistake, especially with the previous bad reviews, and I should have gone with my gut to hold out. The salesman, Tom, at Ultimate was very responsive at the beginning, and for some reason, he acted like he was the owner, promising that if anything went wrong, he would be sure that it would be fixed, the company would hold themselves liable and that they would be responsive. This sold me but I didn't find out until after I signed that he wasn't the owner. I should not have been fooled by this act as all he wanted to do was sell their business-- dumb me. Now, I am trying to get a response back from the company regarding an issue, and I cannot seem to get a hold of anyone-- after I have dumped more than $20K into my pool. That is just shady. That may not seem like a lot of money relative to your other clients, but that's a lot of money to me and I expect quality customer service. I trusted you to be a company that I could rely on if there were issues. Please prove me wrong and send someone out to resolve my issue. On note of the workers, they were excellent. So I searched for a plaster company for a couple months. Lot of work meeting and getting quotes. Decided to go with Ultimate Pool Remodeling. After we agreed on the work to be done, we set a time and date to sign contract. I have other contractors at home for various projects and needed to coordinate with them. After all the work and agreements, Ultimate tries to strong arm me into letting them do the additional work. They were to do plaster and tile only. I have someone else for pool decking. After committing to them for a month and last minute, they advise that if I don't let them do the decking, they won't do the plaster. Now mind you, if I wasn't doing decking, they would be just fine with only the plaster. Issues always come up on contracting projects. I am grateful that they showed their true colors before I signed the contract. I wouldn't touch this company with a 10 foot pole....apparently the owner can come in at whatever stage and break up the agreement that their salesman negotiated. read more

Signed a contract with Tom, a sales agent for this company. He promised to bring by tile samples on a certain day. He did not & didn't call. He promised to do it on the following business day. I called the business that morning & left a message for him, stating that I expected the samples that day or I would cancel the contract. Got a call back from Daniel with a very bad attitude, who ended up cancelling the contract because I expected people to do what they say. Just imagine if there were any problems during the job & dealing with him!!!! They do not answer their business phone & rely on an answering service during business hours. They did the work when they said they would. They charged the amount they said they would. I haven't had to hire a contractor for a large project before, so I was a little anxious. They had three crews. One to demolish the old tile and plaster, one to install the new tile and one to put in the new plaster. Every crew was on time, cleaned up after their work and was professional and courteous. They did not collect any money up front, but only when one of the crews finished their assigned work. This company does not subcontract the work, and I think that's a really good way to go. When I called the company I always got a quick answer that was accurate. No surprises. My plaster was apparantly over 20 years old, it was falling apart all over the place. I had a several quotes by local pool contractors to get new plaster and tile. Ultimate Pool Remodeling not only gave a very comparable rate to the others, but seemed more professional and had more experience behind the company. When getting my quote, Eric was also very informative and suggested some FANTASTIC ideas. I was unaware at the time that I could make additions to my pool, but Eric informed me that I could add a reef section or baja step in the shallow end, and also suggested a bench seat in the deep end. After thinking about it for a day, I had to have them, I measured out what I thought would work best and was given a very reasonable price for the additions. The only thing I would do different if I could, would be to go with my own sourced plumbing guy. (My pool is very old and I wanted to add a dedicated vacuum line for a Kreepy Krauly). I could have gotten a little more work for a little less price in retrospect. I think they said Ultimate Pool contracts out their plumbing work on remodels. Any questions or concerns I had during the construction process were immediately answered and or fixed. In the end I am very happy with the color, the tile and the work done on my pool. The additions of the reef and bench seat really update the pools usability, and I would definitely recommend Ultimate Pool Remodeling to anyone looking to update or build a new pool. read more

The pool is above and beyond our expectations, absolutely beautiful. True professionals, they made sure we were satisfied every step of the way.
