DO NOT TRUST THIS ESTIMATE! It turns out the truck was way too small. On moving day, the first movers I got through U-Haul came out and got the truck 90% loaded and finally told us our things would not fit. It wasn't even close. They knew long before they used up their 2 hours of moving, but decided not to tell us. They left knowing we were in a very bad situation. Now it's scramble time. I had to call U-Haul to get a new truck. They stuck it to me on pricing knowing that I was in a desperate situation. The new charges were over $2,000 more than the original truck. I didn't have a choice and they knew it. Now we had to get another moving company since the first company bailed on us. Once again we used the U-Haul team to find movers. The first company that we used didn't even show. They sent a text message AFTER the time they were supposed to be there saying they couldn't make it. The next company was able to make it and we were grateful they showed up. Finally we were able to transfer the stuff from the first truck to the new truck and get the rest of our things out of our home. When we go to our destinaion, the moving company that unloaded the truck damaged almost all of our furniture and damaged mutliple doors and walls in our new home. When contacting U-Haul, they said they were not liable and that I needed to contact the mover. Upon contacting the mover through U-Haul's MovingHelp.com website, they claimed they didn't do any damage and would not provide any insurance information. Now we are stuck with THOUSANDS of dollars of damage to furniture and our new home with nobody claiming any responsibility. Needles to say this is the last time we will ever use U-Haul or their moving services. Please take this warning and do NOT use their services.
