We made our own custom candles which was $25 and then the birthday girl treated us to $5 custom coasters while we waited for the wax to harden. It's super cute inside and there are retail items available for purchase. You can come in customize your own item or they will do it for you. It was a great time. I'd purchased our tickets online and they were waiting for us at Will Call, as promised. We stopped at the bar for a drink and then stepped inside the theater and found our seats. Everyone working or volunteering there was so kind. The theater is nice and small, quaint even, and there really isn't a bad seat in the house. The performance was great, as it has been each time we've been here. If you're looking for a little culture, and something different than "dinner and a movie", then give Theater Tallahassee a go. You won't be disappointed.

This past Saturday of Mother's Day weekend was my first time attending a ballet performance since…read morebefore the pandemic. I will always be grateful for how this non-profit organization kept us entertained while we were "sheltering in place" by creating and sharing videos of various informal performances done around town. Certainly kept us engaged and just compassionate regarding the complete shutdown of their livelihood. In any case, my daughter and I attended the "Invitation To The Party" (a celebration of diversity in music and dance featuring jazz, gospel, R&B, and more), which was held at Ruby Diamond Auditorium. Absolutely loved it, especially the diversity involved in the various numbers that were performed. There was live music by the Tallahassee Jazz Symphony; Leon Anderson and Avis Berry never disappoint! We were also treated by listening to Macia Porter, who was unknown to me. She performed wonderfully as well. We simply enjoyed the entire show. Kudos to ballet dancers, the choreographers, and all others who had a hand in this performance!

The VIP tickets allowed me to book a table and seats of my choice and a dinner accompanied the ticket (sadly, I forgot the dinner was included and ate on the way there). The five artists that sang lead were all different, but super talented. The backup singers wore gorgeous dresses and sang lovely as well.
