I love this shop! They usually have weekend deals, so sign up for their text message updates. I like that they carry a lot of different brands (my favorites are in stock, EHP labs, and Dymatize). And when they're on sale it's usually about 20% off. + now they Carry barebell protein bars! You can mix and match the bars and make it a customized box. Albert went above and beyond helping me today. He was very informative and helpful and gave me the right products for me personally. He really knows his stuff. He wasn't pushy and respected my budget. I actually felt comfortable at a nutrition store for the first time. They carry a lot of great brands and have good prices compared to other nutritional stores. They have a rewards program as well! They are honest good people and I will definitely come here from now on. They are located right by the 24 hour fitness on H street in downtown chula. I've only been to the Ultimate Sports Nutrition spot in Chula Vista. I give 3 stars because this was probably the most expensive nutrition shop I've ever stepped foot in, next to GNC. The location was convenient, right next to the 24hr fitness. I went in one day to stock up on some supplements. I did end buying a few products due to the fact that I was out and was already there but I highly doubt I will ever shop there again. The prices for most products were at least $5-$10 more then other shops. I.e., most 5lb case of protein at other shops can run about $45-$50 but is about $55 at Ultimate Sports Nutrition. They also have a "clearance" rack filled with products that I believe has been price marked up advertising 30-40% discounts. The staff was nice and helpful but overall everything was just more expensive than other shops. If you're ballin and don't mind spending a little more then by all means, but if you're like me and tend to buy a grip of stuff saving a little goes a long way. So Im not exactly new to the workout life. However, I am new to all this preworkout .. protein .. stuffs.. it's like someone explaining how to build a house in spanish to me. It gets over whelming and I Think to myself, "do I really have what it takes to take on this new lifestyle?" Well, I walked by this place quite a few times and never knew anything about it. I've taken prework out at least 6 times in my life and I love the energy and boosts it gives me at the gym. I always got it from my friend. Anyways, on Tuesday I walked by and the owner of the store, Albert, was handing out samples of a the Pro-Ignite pre workout out he was trying to sell. I tried it and loved it. I had a great workout! Lots of motivation and sweat almost pouring down my face. And most importantly, didn't have a hard time sleeping! I felt great the next day and couldn't wait to go back to the gym. I stopped by there again to ask for other types of prework out that he offers . I tried a fat burning type of prework out and I ended up still liking the Pro-Ignite better. Tastes better too lol. Yesterday I stopped by again and talked to him. He's so patient with me and all my questions. Even when he has to explain it multiple times he doesn't seem to mind it. Like I said it's like learning a new language basically in 10 minutes. I finally made my purchase after a couple of days of testing what I like.
