What a cool place! From the moment I walked in until I left my experience was superb. Every employee greets you when you come in with either Aloha or welcome in. I actually had the pleasure of meeting and talking with the owners and they are actually from Hawaii so they were very versed in how they do shaved ice there. I went with my usual at other places and this was better than the rest mostly because I did not have to ask for more syrup. Shaved ice was very soft and light like fresh snow. They have a lot of different flavors you can create your own or you can go with some combinations that have already been put together for you. Best shaved ice (snow cone) I have ever had in. my. entire. life. What's so good about it? I asked the same question. First of all the ice itself is so so so smooth. It makes the consistency almost like an ice cream or sorbet!! Yes, I know it's hard to believe but I'm being completely honest with zero exaggeration. Imagine the absolute FINEST shaved ice. Then they pack it SUPER tight into the cup. They pack it and pack it with their hands over and over to ensure you get a tight mound of ice. Then they hand it off to someone who pokes holes in the tightly packed ice so that the syrup is evenly distributed throughout the ice. This is a process of TLC y'all, no joke. After it's all said and done, they hand over your cup and tell you with the kindest and most enthusiastic facial expression to "let them know if you want more syrup later" .. like are you serious?? Even the service is amazing?? YES, it is. Ok so here are the flavors we tried. We got ube, green tea, sugar free coconut, sugar free mango, sugar free guava and sugar free pineapple. Let's be honest, most SF flavors have an after taste and usually no one provides cool flavors in SF. So when I saw the flavors listed I was super excited but honestly didn't expect much and wanted to set the bar low so I wouldn't get disappointed. But holy smokes you guys. The SF flavors were JUST as good as the regular ones and I would seriously just go full SF next time with no regrets. But as far as the flavors go - Ube was really nutty and true to the natural taste, green tea was super duper matcha-y and earthy, SF coconut was creamy and added a really great texture to the ice, and the rest of the SF fruity flavors were such a punch of tropical flavor .. absolutely true to the real fruits themselves. Sorry for the long review but I cannot rave enough about these guys. The workers were so so so nice and the line was like 8 people deep but moved quickly. There is plenty of parking and the restroom even had a diaper changing station. Also I always feel a little grossed out at dessert places due to the sticky floors, sticky tables and chairs, and that certain smell of floor cleaning solution. But this place had none of those and that just made the entire experience that much better - or maybe perfect is the word I'm looking for. :D I am already planning my next trip and texted all my close friends and family about this place. All of the flavors have been excellent, and the fruit flavors tastes like real, fresh fruit. The cofounder was there helping with grand opening and making sure our shave ice had enough syrup in the middle and at the bottom. He was super sweet! he made me a kids size of green tea, ube, and coffee ice on top of coconut ice cream to try. It was so creamy and delicious! its off the menu and I think it was called "The AI" aka the land. I will get that next time. We are sooooo happy that Ululani is here in TX! We had this several times while we were in Maui. Too bad we are a long way away from Plano but it was worth it. We went on opening weekend and the wait was over an hr. Someone mentioned it was 3 hr wait the first opening day. I would get the keiki size of pina colada, lychee, and coconut. The lychee was on the very light side so I barely tasted it. But I LOVED the coconut and pina colada combo. I can forego the lychee part. I added the coconut ice cream but next time I'll get the scoop on the side instead (in a separate cup) or try the pandan ice cream. The snow cap topping makes everything creamy and extra sweet as well if you don't get the ice cream. My husband's fav flavors are the blueberry and coconut. We sat inside and enjoyed our shaved ice. I believe one of the workers, David (I hope that's his name) who was manning the line, came by to check on us. We told him everything was great and he immediately noticed my shaved ice looked lacking in syrup. I was the only one in the group still picking at my shaved ice. Like I said, the flavor/syrup was pretty light. I was trying to dig at the bottom to get some syrup. David mentioned that we can always request for more syrup if it's not to our liking. He then took my bowl up and added more syrup and snow cap on top himself and brought it back. He was EXTREMELY sweet and attentive !! All the workers were super sweet and he was the best! They have ice cream, as well as, shaved ice. The owner let us sample some of the ice cream. I got the Blue Hawaii. I like to keep it simple when it comes to shaved ice. Another friend got the Texas Heat, which was one of the specialties they were offering for that day. Another friend got the salted caramel ice cream. What she thought was nuts was actually pretzels, so she didn't care for it very much. Check this place out.
