Gold Pop's Fried Ice Cream in Carrollton is such a charming little spot. The wonderful couple who owns it is warm, welcoming, and genuinely excited to share what they've created. From the moment we walked in, we felt like they were genuinely happy to see us. She even said "welcome back" even though we had never visited, lol. It was sweet. The owner was incredibly kind and let us sample a few flavors, which made choosing even more fun. I tried the Coconut Pandas and it was so good. Simple, creamy, and perfectly balanced. My friends loved it too and were excited to grab a few pops to take on the road. The flavors are great now, and it's exciting to hear there are even more coming soon. You can really tell care goes into the concept and the product. A couple small suggestions that could elevate the experience even more. It might be nice to have a way for customers to see the pops, maybe with a glass display. Also, the rolls of paper with the handwritten menu aren't the most aesthetically pleasing, so something like a gridded dry erase board could really enhance the look. A bit more seating would be a great addition as well. Overall, I loved the vibes, loved the flavors, and loved the people behind it. Such a cool concept with simple, delicious flavors. I'll definitely be back and can't wait to see how this place continues to grow. I gotta get back and try the FRIED ice cream next time.

LOVE GOLD POPS!!!!! I'm so glad they opened back up here in the dfw area!! They first were in arlington and I would go probably every week but they ended up moving to California and they CAME BACK!!! The flavors are so good and the family that owns it is so nice! We talked and I said how I used to visit all the time in arlington and they were so thankful that I am still making time to come back. Anyways I'm so happy that they are back and I hope they never leave again!! SUPPORT SMALL BUSINIESSES!!!

I love fried ice cream and Gold Pops does not disappoint. The fried ice cream is $7.75 and mini pops are $2. We chose matcha and Oreos for our fried ice creams. Both were so good. The owner was super nice and gave my kiddos mini pops to try for free. They loved them. I follow them on instagram and they been posting a lot of Vietnamese flavors I really want to try. Can't wait to come back.

My husband was searching for a place to get ice cream and this place came up in his search. We have had fried ice cream before so wanted to try it. They have a large selection of flavors to choose from and different ways to eat your pop - fried or not fried. My husband got the Oreo fried pop and I got the coconut jackfruit pop. They were delicious! The place is owned by a couple who used to have a Japanese restaurant and they served fried ice cream for dessert there. If you like supporting local spots and want some great ice cream, you should pay them a visit.

So happy this small business is back in TX after almost 3 years away! Originally located in Arlington, TX the sweet couple has returned back to the DFW area, now in Carrollton. If you've liked Steel City Pops, they are much better! They have a variety of flavors and not hard as a rock like at Steel City Pops! You can find your typical pop flavors but also several Asian dessert/fruit focused flavors as well. Not too sweet & the mini pops are the perfect size for a quick snack! The menu rotates often and with it being a small business, you can probably request other flavors for the couple to maybe experiment with when you become a regular. They're still working on their soft opening now but we can't wait to come back for their grand opening!

We…read morewalked into a bright, casual space where the focus is really on the desserts being made fresh. Watching the taiyaki being prepared adds to the experience since the fish shaped pastries come out warm and freshly cooked, creating that contrast between hot pastry and cold soft serve that defines the shop's appeal. The signature Ahboong is the main reason to visit, combining creamy soft serve with a freshly made taiyaki cone. The soft serve has a light, smooth texture that feels less heavy than traditional ice cream, and there are plenty of flavors to mix and match. Matcha, ube, cookies and cream, and other rotating options give plenty of choices, while fillings like custard, red bean, and Nutella add an extra layer of sweetness. The taiyaki itself is one of the highlights, with a slightly crisp exterior and a fluffy inside that pairs really well with the ice cream. The warm pastry melting slightly with the soft serve makes the whole dessert feel more complete and satisfying. Service is usually quick despite the popularity of the shop. The ordering process is simple, and the fresh taiyaki preparation makes the wait feel worthwhile. Even when there is a crowd, the shop moves efficiently, and the desserts come together quickly once ordered. The staff handles the steady flow well, and the overall experience feels smooth from ordering to eating. Somisomi feels like a dessert spot built around the experience as much as the food. It is a great place for a casual sweet treat, a late night dessert run, or something fun to share with friends. The combination of warm taiyaki, creamy soft serve, and creative flavors makes it one of those places that feels different from the usual ice cream stop, offering a dessert that is as enjoyable to watch being made as it is to eat.

We had a dubai crepe, honestly, it's the size of a New York pizza slice. I thought the kataifi was just at the top "crust" but the entire crepe was stuffed with it. Smooth, creamy chocolate & pistachio drizzle with the perfect crunch in every bite. It's RICH, good but definitely get a drink & maybe add some strawberries for acidity to cut into the thick richness of it all. I'd recommend sharing this, even with just two of us it was alot. I think it was $15, with the scoop of ice cream. The staff was nice & dessert came out quickly. The girl who cashed us out asked how everything was, we were asking her opinion when ordering & she was super nice. We'll definitely stop in again!

The cashier was super sweet & allowed me to try a sample of the red velvet cake ice cream (it was mid) so I ordered the brownie sundae with a scoop of vanilla. It includes a free topping. Of course I ordered oreos. The brownie was warm but it was underwhelming. The inside was cute & aesthetically pleasing & the inside of the restaurant was clean which is most important! Idk that I'd go back but they have a wide variety of desserts from crepes to mini waffles to milkshakes. Check it out if you're in the area

Thankfully they offer small samples as I really did not know which one I wanted to go with. Also, be advised that the little displays of the sizes are vastly underestimated. A kids scoop they said was around the size of a golfball. But when I asked for a kid's scoop it was close to twice that. I definitely got way more ice cream than I expected (though I won't complain since it was delicious). The one employee who was working was quiet, but patient and helpful. We were a large group with people ranging from 4 years to 60 years old and everyone got the same level of attention and service. I will note that because the location is so small, I wouldn't plan on eating in. Or even at the one small bench right outside. But luckily they are located right next to a beautiful courtyard area with plenty of places to sit, relax, and enjoy some homemade ice cream. It's a perfect treat for a warm Texas day. Ah, who am I kidding. It was in the 60s when we were there and it still hit the spot!
