Seth at Umpqua Appliance was recommended to us by About Time Appliance Repair to diagnose and repair our LG refrigerator. Seth came to the house and diagnosed the problem rather quickly. He let us know what our options were. We decided to hire Seth to replace our linear compressor and everything else that goes along with the job. He was very professional and made us feel comfortable that he was going to get our refrigerator back in good shape. It has been about 3 weeks since Seth completed the repair. No issues to report. Had Seth "diagnose" my washer. Paid $90 something and he told us it was a faulty drain pump. Going through him it would be a $300 fix- considered it but my husband looked it up and did it himself for $27 and ~15 minutes. Unfortunately that wasn't the problem- but we do have a new pump! Ended up with a completely different problem- replaced the gearcase assembly for $160 our cost, DIY with a handyman husband and I wouldn't even fathom what Umpqua Appliance would charge. I understand mark up and people have to make money, but misdiagnosing and marking products up that much- I mean come on. read more

Umpqua Appliance really let me down. My oven stopped working and I had an initial, $139 diagnostic appointment on October 30th this year. I was told the problem was most likely one of two parts, that they would order both parts, come back out, troubleshoot each part, and install the one that worked. I was told the initial fee would go toward the 300-400 part and that it would only take a week or two to get. After not hearing from them for two weeks, I called to find out the status of the project. They said they would order the parts (they hadn't yet?!) and scheduled me for the following week. Seth came back with parts and began work. Shortly thereafter he discovered and explained that one of the parts was incorrect. Now being a week away from Thanksgiving, I explained that I was planning on hosting dinner for my family and was planning on cooking a turkey. He said he would go back to the office that afternoon, order the correct part(s) and have them overnighted so he could get back out on Monday or Tuesday the following week (week of Thanksgiving). Monday came and went, as did Tuesday. I made alternate turkey roasting plans, and was determined not to call to see if anyone from Umpqua Appliance would follow up and schedule the end of this job. It wasn't until the following Tuesday that I finally caved and called to find out when we could finish this job. They said they'd overnight the parts (they hadn't yet?!) and that Seth could be back on Wednesday (tomorrow) afternoon. After missing the service window, Seth called and pushed to Thursday morning. He worked on the oven and neither part worked, and he just gave up. He explained that it might be the display panel which would be a $700 part, and that he just can't fix it. At this point I was not surprised, and quite disappointed. I asked if that $139 that would go toward the repair could be refunded and he said no. I said, it's one thing to still have a broken oven, it's another to be over a month into this process and still be in the same place I started. He offered the consolation that perhaps they could refund part of the fee, and I simply said I wouldn't be expecting a phone call. I highly recommend finding an alternate service provider if you are considering Umpqua Appliance. read more

I was fine with the $79 service call because I was told it would be taken off the repair bill. Seth called about an hour before he was scheduled to show up and said he was on another call just down the street, so he wanted to come early. Great! So, he came and listened to my washer for about 15 seconds and told me the problem wasn't worth fixing and I need to replace the washer. Since he was already down the street and the service call took less time than it took to charge my credit card, you would think he would have knocked something off the price, but nope. It felt a bit like a scam to be honest. I really have to wonder if the diagnosis was honest or he just didn't feel like working in the heat knowing he could collect the full price for a few seconds of work. Guess who I won't be calling when I need appliance repair in the future? read more

Our dryer quit and our dishwasher Jordan came out from Umpqua Appliance and diagnosed the problems. Fixed them for $250ish on the spot and they are working great! Highly recommend these guys! Shout out to Jordan W. You did a bang up job Sir! read more

Well first it started out I had to call them at 10 after 4:00 and remind them that I had a 4:00 appointment. When they did show up and finish the $240 plugged main line repair and left, all the sudden my ice maker didn't work. So I called and called and called as a voice mail was full every single day for at least 5 days finally got through left a message never heard from anybody. Won't be using them again and won't refer them to anybody not a happy customer. read more

Unfortunately I cannot give Umpqua Appliances any reccomendations for future customers. Owner Seth Coult is the 2nd worst business owner I've dealt with in my 65yrs. He says that he believes that each service should be handled with the utmost professionalism with the customers needs in mind and that a broken appliance can put a damper on things and affect your livlihood and schedule so the last thing you want is to hire the wrong technician to handle the problems. In my case, I did hire the wrong guy when purchasing a fridge from his store that only worked for 5 days before the fridge stopped working. On day 6 I called and was told it would be 4 more days before Seth could come to my house. I was given a time of between 9-11. 11 came and went with no show, no call. I called and was told it he'd be here between 5-7. 7 passed and when I called was told the next morning between 10-noon. When noon passed I took off work to go there. I walked up to the counter where Seth was sitting at a computer and I finally had to say "Hey" before he looked at me then turned back to the computer before getting up. He never made eye contact with me as I told him who I was and that I wanted a full refund, only displayed a lack of interest. He only said he'd been on my street the night before but his GPS couldn't find me and he tried to call. Maybe he did but 1 call out of 3 scheduled times in which since he said nothing about coming back or calling this day, I'm assuming he never tried. I was willing to pay the $40 fee for him to pick up the fridge when he opened his appointment book to tell me when and was verbally trying to guess when. I would not get my refund until the fridge was back in his possession and with 3 scheduled times for the repair not being kept, I opted to return it myself. I told Seth that I'd be back with the fridge and left. When I returned, Seth had gone and the 2 employees didn't know anything about me and the refund on my fridge. When called he instructed the guy to refund me. When he tried, there was not enough money in the store to do so. He called Seth again and was told to refund it to my card and when he told Seth he didn't know how, Seth told him he didn't either. The only positive thing I can say is that this young man figured it out himself and the $ was returned to my account. A 12 day experience from beginning to end that I assure you no professionalism was used to assist me. Seth is obviously to booked up with repair calls for 1 man to be able to handle like a professional. Especially when I got to the store and instead of being at my house he was sitting at a computer. This business may be busy now and losing future business not a concern of his but I assure Seth that it only takes a few reviews like this on-line or word of mouth to cripple a business. read more
