Don't Be Fooled. Addcox did do a great job putting in our mini splits almost 4 years ago. My husband was very pleased with them. They didn't tell us we would be required to have yearly inspections, but when we found out a year later, we did it. It was costly. The following year, since their yearly inspection and maintenance costs were so expensive, we specifically asked them if it would hurt our warranty if we went somewhere else for our maintenance that had to be kept up once a year in order to maintain the warranty. They assured us it would be fine to get it maintained elsewhere, that it won't affect our warranty at all. What they didn't tell us was as soon as we did that, our life-time guaranty with them -- with Addcox -- was considered void. We found out just now, after 3 1/2 years, that, "Oh, well, your units are no longer guaranteed with us because you went somewhere else for your yearly inspection and maintenance." Wow. Really? How convenient for them. They should have been upfront. I feel I was lied to. read more

Addcox is charging my 92-year-old mother over $2000 to repair a refrigerant leak in her Diakin HVAC system.The leak disables the heater from working. It's already been two weeks now and her heater still doesn't work. It still gets in the 30's at night, and she's 92. The $2000 includes 10 lbs of refrigerant. read more

I hired them to install an existing heatpump. They overcharged us, including charging for something THEY DIDN'T EVEN DO! As if this isn't bad enough I have contacted them three seperate times and was given the run around. I have now been told multiple times "I can't fix that" followed by "We'll call you back later to resolve this". It has now been weeks. I was only mildly annoyed at the original mistake, but am now extremely ticked off at how they have treated me since. How this company has good reviews I have no idea. He was very receptive with our questions and concerns with replacing our existing heat pump, was polite and not one bit pushy. Upon agreeing to the quote, the system was ordered and scheduled for installation within a couple of weeks. The installers, so sorry I didn't get their names, we're here early, went right to work, were polite, respectful of our property, and explained the process as they went along. When they came into the house they removed their shoes and cleaned up after themselves. They made sure the furnace was operating right, explained the thermostat and very knowledgeable about all our questions. Our 17 year old hot water died, started leaking. Our local gas company recommended Addcox - thank goodness. The gas heater model to fit our area was no longer in production so had to get a larger one. They gave us a quote before ever started working so we went for it. Instead of the two hours work predicted, our set up gave them endless problems. They showed up at 8 a.m. and left here closer to 6 p.m. I was worried about labor charges, but nope, their original quote was firm. And nice? 4 of their staff ended up being here (maybe 5 when the boss showed up) so all hands were working hard to get it installed that day. I can't recommend them strongly enough! I am very disappointed in the system we had installed last summer we not informed that the system will not heat higher then 72 degree. After which the system shuts off and frosts up. While 72 is the recommended temperature to heat your home it is not what older adults or medically unstable individuals are comfortable with. This means we must now look at another source of heat after paying for a rather expensive system. SO BEWARE HEAT PUMP MAY NOT BE THE ANSWER JUST EXPENSIVE. read more

My mother is elderly and lives alone, she just recently spent over $6.000 to have Addcox install new AC unit on her house. That was the price for the unit and installation. It hasn't even been a month and the new unit isn't working properly and the temperatures in this area have been really hot. She called Addcox to come and check it out cause the temp in the house will not stay under 80 degrees. Addcox shows up, checks a few things and determine the unit has a Freon gas leak which is rendering the unit inoperable and unable to work properly. They told my mother that nothing can be done until the middle of next week, until a technician shows up. What the heck was this guy doing today then? $6.000 my mother payed for this work to be done and this equipment barley lasts a month? Addcox shows up not ready to fix the problem on the spot., very shoddy service, will not recommend to anyone else. read more

My Central Heater was only blowing hot air part-time. I had an appointment for noon-2pm and the tech attempted to come early but unfortunately I didn't have my phone on. Their office called just to confirm I was available, and the tech was here by 12:10. Very nice guy. Figured out my problem pretty fast. Gave me an estimate and fixed it within 15 minutes. We have lived in our house about 4 years and I decided we should have someone come check out our heat pump and make sure everything was running good. Addcox sent out a guy in about a week. He was nice and told us everything was fine and we shouldn't have any issues. They charged us $130 for him to do this. He then advised us to get some different filters and said they would work better. I decided a couple months later to get the new filters but since the weather had been good we didn't use the AC. Another month went by and it started heating up so I turned the AC on. I noticed that it kept running and wasn't cooling the house sufficiently. When I opened it up to look at the filters I saw it was completely frozen on the inside. I called to complain since I had just had it checked a couple months ago and thought it was probably the new filters he told us to use. The owner called me back and said it wasn't the filters and it must be another issue. He said he wouldn't charge us to come look at it(even though they did anyways). He came and told us it had a leak and all the coolant had leaked out. He then told us it would be over $400 to fix it and fill it back up. We went ahead and did it. It worked for the remainder of the summer which was about another month and a half. We didn't use the AC again until this month and it started doing the same thing. We called to complain again and were told it was just a temporary fix because we had told the owner we were thinking about selling our house. He never told us that he "temporarily fixed it" when he came to our house! We have now hired a reputable company and were told they completely messed up our unit and they had weld it to fix it. I feel like they take advantage of people and try to get as much money out of you as possible! read more

This is update on my mini split install with Addcock in Roseberg. I had an internet purchased Blue Ridge 42k btu installed in my 2 story 2400 sf. It was an extra large 5 zone/air handler unit. The house was old- growth wood with a very closed off floor plan . Blue Ridge made it sound a bit easier than it to install then was my experienced. The installers were very professional as was the electrician Central electric in Sutherlin. Addcock is the only company flexible enough to install someone else's equipment. We ran into several issues (the required fill caps were larger than standard and had to be ordered) We had a communication issue but once the manager and I talked we quickly reached a workable agreement. I believe they will honor their end based on my experience with Aaron the manager. The non- standard caps had to be ordered and that minor detail should pass inspection Mon. after talking with county. I would not hesitate to recommend Addcox and I know they stood behind the install which make my parts warranty valid with Blue Ridge. If you do run into anything I know Aaron will take care of it. read more

Any business can give good customer service when things go right. That's a no brainer. It's the ones who will work with you if things go wrong that deserve mention. We first dealt with Addcox when they came out to try fixing our oil heater. The company that made the heater had been bought out so parts are no longer available. Naturally it stopped a few days after we had the tank filled but that's another story. We decided it was time to take the plunge and have a ductless heat pump installed. We got bids from a couple of other companies including Addcox. Their bid was competitive and they even took most of the cost of their attempt to fix the heater off the cost. If something weird, obscure, rare or unusual can happen to a product, it'll happen to us. We missed our calling. We should have been beta testers for new products. Anyway the new heat pump was no exception. Addcox stayed in there and got it working. Their technician John is great to work with and can probably fix anything. Like I said, despite a rocky start, we have a shiny new ductless unit that will keep us nice and cool this summer and toasty in the winter. read more
