This is my new favorite place for middle eastern foods. In the back of this market behind the curtains is some of the best halal food I've had in awhile. We ordered a platter for four and got so much food for the price. The chutney was delicious, and as a southeast Asian who eats spices in full heat it was GOOOODT! The restaurant offered an eating area that I wanted to eat at so badly but was too scared in case it was for special events. So here is the thing, typically food get served in parts meaning the appetizer are usually served before the main course. Now there are cuisines that serve you the entire thing at once which is cool but if you're ordering food that is supposed to be served HOT then you have to make sure the food is hot if you want to serve EVERYTHING at the same time. Tonight I went with some friends and we heard that they have good quality food. I showed up with two of my friends while the others were on the way, we were starving so we decided to order some appetizers while waiting for our friends. We ordered the Samosa stuffed with meat and french fries. The food showed up quick and I was like wow that's nice. Unfortunately the Samosa was cold and meat inside was cold as well, the fries in the other hand were hot. Our friends showed up and we started ordering food and it was a lot, I can't remember the exact names but we got 2 entire chickens which I think were grilled, kebab and chicken skewers, and rice with a lamb shank in it. We waited for a very long time, at one point I had to go and check why it was taking so long! And yes our food was just sitting there on plates because the other orders weren't finished yet!! I told the waiter to bring whatever is ready. He didn't so then my other friend went to the kitchen and asked the same thing They then brought us hot complimentary soup which was good but as soon as we started eating the soup, our entire food order showed up. And just like I thought, the meat was room temperature especially the beef skewers and the chicken, rice was super oily, the rice with the lamb shank was room temperature but tasted good. The yellowish chicken that I had was lukewarm at best, we had two of those chicken orders the other one my friends said it was ok. I do understand it's Saturday night and I'm ok with waiting if the food is going to be good but being room temperature isn't ok. We were a party of 8, I dont like leaving bad reviews but tbh this should be mentioned. The service was good and all of the waiters were kind,helpful, and clearly doing their best under pressure. Overall, the quality and presentation of the food did not meet reasonable expectations. The customer service was equally disappointing. Our experience here was good when we came here to celebrate my friend's birthday. We ordered a bunch of different food on an assortment of platters, and received great service in the dining room, which is located to the side of the store area. Everything looked great and was artfully arranged on several large platters. The rice, bread, Cornish hen, flatbread, fish and veggies were tasty. The chicken was dry, unfortunately. Our server was prompt and thoughtful, continuously checking on us and always had a smile for us. There are booths, tables and a beautiful area where you can sit on cushions on the floor and eat on low tables. To order, you order at a counter when you first walk into the store and you can browse the super cool store while you wait or, come back when your food is ready (we went to get coffee after we browsed the store!). read more

This was the birthday boy's choice to celebrate lunch with Afghani food. What a fantastic choice it turned out to be! To access the restaurant, you enter the market and place your order at the cash register, then get seated. We actually arrived a bit too early for their lunch service. The polite and friendly lady informed us that the rice wouldn't be ready until 12:30pm, and we got there at 11am! We ordered the platter for 4 that included most of their meats, bread, salad, rice, and fries. We also ordered the dumplings, "filled with leeks and seasoning" and the bolani, a huge "calzone, stuffed with leeks and other Afghan spices then seared on a grill." Since we had time, we browsed the shelves of spices, groceries (traditional and non-traditional), beautiful tea sets and other serving ware. They also sell freshly baked desserts that all looked delectable. At 12:30pm we were shown to our big round table. We were the only patrons dining in at the time. The platter of food was brought out right away, along with a basket of bread (imagine the crust of an xl sized pizza!), the dumplings, a tray of fresh veggies (lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, onion, jalapenos, and limes), and the bolani. Y'all! The portions are big, definitely made for sharing family-style. The platter for 4 could have easily fed more. Our party of 6 had a lot of leftovers. The platter included a whole fried fish (my fave), beef/lamb kebob, beef and chicken skewers, lamb shanks, and cornish hen, all on top of a pile of fluffy rice. It came with a slightly spicy chutney and a yogurt based sauce for the bolani. The lamb was so tender and did not have a gamey taste. The chicken kebob was dry but not the cornish hen. The beef was flavorful and tender. The fish was seasoned and fried to perfection. Service was great. He took care of all of our requests right away, and even turned the a/c higher when he heard someone saying how hot they were feeling. There is also a section in the dining room for traditional floor seating. The restrooms are located in the back of the market and desperately needed restocking and attention. We saw this restaurant on TikTok and decided to try it, but the reality was completely different from what we saw online. The food was extremely low quality and honestly 0/100. It seems like they only make the food look good when they are recording or when TikTokers come to the restaurant. What we received was nothing like what we saw in their videos. They had originally told us they were out of biloni but when my husband and I were sad and said we came from so far the guy made sure he would make sure we would biloni. If you are looking for a place to do a family style dinner or lunch and want to try a little bit of everything it's best to go with a little group of people and they do have a round table so it's easy for sharing. They also have tables of four and they even have an area where you can sit down on the floor and eat as well which is really authentic and a really cool experience. . So what do we order we order a family style platter which feeds up to four people but let me tell you we had six people and we still couldn't finish it so in reality it could be like to eight people easily. So what does the family platter comes with? . It comes with some beef kebab and chicken kabob some Cornish hen some fish and lamb shanks and some beef meat as well. It also comes with giant bread that is like the size of a large pizza and you get two to three of them easily and there is salad and condiments like cucumber tomato slices jalapeno and shredded lettuce. The family platter starts from $105 and up depending on how much bigger you want to add. We were really happy with the platter because it had a little bit of everything and you did not have to choose and they will just give you all the best protein in it. . Inside is a market where they do sell lots of table decorations like cups to plates and three tiers. They also have lots of spices to grocery shopping inside as well. Basically it's a little market that has all your spices and everything that you need to cook a really good meal. . For the food we did order some dumplings and those are really good filled with beef and cabbage inside and has a really nice turmeric flavor to it. . We also got some bolani which is a flat bread that has potato and leek inside and some crushed peppers which has a little spiciness to it. . The protein that we like the least was the chicken kabob because it was a little bit too over well done. It was on the dryer side and it was white chicken meat. We really like the beef Kebab it was juicy and flavorful. We also love the fish it had a really nice turmeric and spices to it like paprika and a lot more flavors that we couldn't figure out. The Cornish hen was actually really tender and it was better than the chicken kebab. We also like the bread it was Fluffy and it was great pairing it with the rice and sauces. . Overall we had a really great experience and we love doing a family style. If you like ethnic food and Afghanistan food it is a place a must try. The service was really attentive and Ambience was casual but also very welcoming and do love the party room. I love how it is a One-Stop shop with great food and a market where you can buy stuff. We ordered fish and it was extremely deep fried that there was no meat on the fish, it was eating just fish skin and fins. It was like eating chalk. We also ordered chicken and it was very dry. We walked in to order some food the lady behind the register did not even acknowledge us there was no other customers in the store at the time. When I came out of store told my husband let's go I paid for food . Finally came back to this new market located near the Florin Farmers Market in the complex with Wal Mart. Nice Afghani Market with a butcher shop, bakery, and textiles (clothing and by-the-yard fabric for sewing). There's also an in-house kitchen that makes food to go or eat there at one of about 6 booths located to the side. A friend and I had the chicken and the lamb kebabs for lunch today. The come wrapped in the house-made fresh flat bread with slices of fresh red onion, tomato, and cucumbers. Very delicious and filling. For drinks, you can order hot water and choose one of three different dry teas at a self-serve table. Or, you can purchase a soda in the cold box to enjoy with your food. If you are looking for customer service, forget about it, it just does not exist. The food is mediocre at best. If you like standing at the register and being completely ignored, then this is the place to be. My food was ordered to go. While I was standing there trying to get someone's attention, my food already paid for and ready to go, stood behind the counter for more than 10 mins. This when all that needed to be done was hand me the bag with the food in it. Very unorganized, products are all over the place.
