I was trying to get established with a new provider & chose this place because it was closer to my home. My 1st visit was to me the dr., (P.A), Mary and when I went in for the consultation she told me that she was leaving the practice so I would be referred to Jennifer Taylor. All that was fine with me until this morning, 6/11/2026. I arrived at 7:20a for my 7:40a appointment for bloodwork. They receptionist said my appointment was to see the dr. I explained that I was supposed to get bloodwork today and see the dr. for my physical next week. Thinking that was all understood and clear, I took a seat and waited while everyone eIse who came in after I did had been called back. Then I asked the receptionist a couple of time when I would be seen. She said they were waiting for orders to come in so that I could get my bloodwork done and that I would be called next. Again, I took a seat then they called someone else and at 7:50a I went to the desk and told them that I was leaving. I understand that human error happens but I honestly feel like this all happened for a couple of good reasons, terrible healthcare providers and terrible customer care.

Therefore, I am not keen to praise doctors. However, PAMF has a wonderful, smart, caring family doctor that I am compelled to recommend. Her name is Doctor Maggie Williams. Dr Williams is smart, dedicated, experienced, and caring. I have had some major medical issues which Dr. Williams expertly diagnosed and has been helping me resolve. My daughter has a medical issue that her pediatrician and gynecologist misdiagnosed but Dr Williams was quick to diagnose correctly. Dr Williams is conservative and logical in her approach to treatment. She listens and asks intelligent questions. She will order tests when appropriate and will refer patients to specialists both in and outside of PAMF. She will take the time to answer your questions and concerns. She really cares. Like I said, I am very skeptical of the medical profession but if you are looking for an excellent family doctor, then check out Dr. Williams. I was then assigned to another FNP during which time I had questions about the level of my care, because I felt my best interest was not being met, as my Primary Care Physician. After all, there were times when I needed help or requested referrals, but it was met with denials. Once I started voicing my displeasure with my medical care. An incident occurred that I felt was handled by the FNP that was very unprofessional and handled in a demeaning manner. I voiced my opinion regarding it, and shortly afterwards, I received a letter telling me that I had to find another physician in 30 days because I was not in agreement with my medical care.

This is a good practice.

I have also been seen by Dr. Ennis when Dr O'Neill is not available and she is excellent as well. However, because they are both excellent physicians, it's almost impossible to see either one on short notice. Unfortunately for us, the patients, we then get subjected to the likes of Dr. Pleasant. I usually won't write an unfavorable review. I'm more apt to write nothing as opposed to writing something negative. However, my experience with Dr. Pleasant was so negative and such a complete waste of my time, that I have found a new PCP with WakeMed. I'm incredibly disappointed that Dr. O'Neill will no longer be my PCP and I will not see Dr. Ennis any longer, but the thought of EVER AGAIN having to interact with Dr. Pleasant is enough to have forced me to go through the hassle of finding a new PCP and wait months for my first appointment. Dr. Pleasant was rude, he spoke over me, and he has the worst 'bedside manner ' I have ever encountered. I checked and he spent FOUR minutes in the exam room with me. The medical issue that prompted me to make the appointment was not resolved, and he was completely dismissive of my symptoms and my concerns. The office staff at GFP is conscientious, professional and pleasant. Drs. O'Neill and Ennis are caring, knowledgeable, and professional. They have excellent listening skills and are an asset to GFP. I am sorry that I will not see either of them again, but it's necessary because I wish never to see that other buffoon again.

During the visit, the provider, Kellie Cochran, NP, introduced herself as "Dr. Kelly." I later learned from my paperwork that she is a nurse practitioner. I don't mind seeing an NP, but patients should be clearly told who they are seeing so that we can make informed decisions. Even though my symptoms had been going on for over two weeks, I was not given a stool test kit and was not offered a treatment plan. Instead, I was referred to a gastroenterologist for a colonoscopy, which was not the reason I came to urgent care. I was also told to follow up with primary care, but my new patient appointment is not until March 12. I left without testing, medication, or any real guidance on how to address what I came in for. If you need diagnostic testing done, I would recommend going somewhere else!

I called back eight days later because I was running out of the prescription and I was still having the pain and the problems related to shingles. I was told I could not get a refill because they normally don't issue refills which I don't understand if they are an urgent care clinic. I was told that I would have to come in and see another technician. I am Wheelchair bound and do not have access to transport. I would have to get Visiting Angels at a very high cost because the minimum is four hours of their time. I was further told that they could not ask the technician Lori Gigey because she was not in the office today. I asked when she would be back and was told that the person I was talking to on the telephone did not have access to the schedule yet she was in the same clinic in which I saw the technician. I was then handed it off to Ernst who was rude and refused to give me the name of the lady I was talking to and told me somebody would call me back. I would not recommend this facility to anybody that has anything more than a sore throat. Look at the reviews, the majority of them give them one star out of five
