I had been struggling with pancreatitis for nearly two years before coming to see Dr. Tumbapura at Triangle GI. I was a patient at Duke and UNC GI departments and neither one could not find out why I was getting these recurring episodes of pancreatitis. Duke put me on meds and four procedures. I was fed up and decided to try someone new. I wanted a smaller doctors office where the doctors and staff actually knew who I was and cared enough about me to treat me. I happen to find Triangle GI online and decided it wouldn't hurt to see someone there. After my initial visit with Dr. Tumbapura, he looked over past images and scheduled a new one to compare. On the second visit we went over together what the images showed - he actually looked over the images with me and showed me where and what he thought was the problem. Just this alone was more than any other doctor had done at Duke and UNC. I was touched to see someone actually cared enough to treat me as a human rather than a test patient. He schedule one more image of my gall bladder called a HIDA scan and found out his prediction was right and that the problem was my gallbladder the entire time. It had been a dead organ in my body for years. We schedule to have it removed through another doctor, and ever since, I have been able to eat normal again. I have been able to put weight back on and exercise again. I am so thankful for this place, as this review hopeful expresses. I would recommend them to anyone. I did not have a good experience here. Treated for chronic diarrhea. My colonoscopy gave me a diagnosis. But the treatment did not help at all. Ultimately, it caused side effects that prevented me from walking and driving. Dizziness and balance problems. I went to another practice and was given the correct treatment. I am getting better now. My new doctor couldn't understand why I wasn't given the correct treatment at Triangle. I am in Raleigh, NC read more

My first time coming here. Receptionist were really nice. Answered all of questions or concerns. Was told by previous doctors that I could not be seen until August..mind you not able to eat and dropping weight every day. Dr Doshi was beyond great! My concerns were his concerns. He wanted to get down to the bottom of everything and got me an appointment to view the inside of my stomach. He gave me thinks to do to cope until we find out what's wrong. So I brought a friend in today for a procedure and while we are literally sitting getting her ready for anesthesia a woman is complainant about a home she is purchasing and how the bathroom is messed up and how she is distracted today . How in the world as a patient are you supposed to be comfortable with someone taking care of you when you are literally hearing people talk about how they are "distracted today " you can't bring your personal problems to work when you're in healthcare . It's not safe for the patients or anyone else. Leave your personal problems at home. Very disappointed in this visit today. Dr T is great but the unprofessionalism of the staff today was mind blowing. You have patients sick and wondering what's wrong with them. We want to know our providers are taking care of us while at work not distracted by things that occur off hours. Literally every patient in here could hear this woman and while I have no idea if anyone else said anything it's a real scary thing to hear the words "I'm very distracted today" from staff . Are you going to be distracted during the procedure, have you been distracted lately and did things wrong or missed something ? Just baffling read more

Run from this place. May 13th 2023. Nurses quitting in front of patients (during procedures), fights between doctors during procedures. Not sending patients to the ER when they've had colonoscopies and endoscopies go wrong. Malpractice, negligence due to EGO and a lawsuit is on the way (with video documentation). Had to get emergency care after my procedure. It will take months to recover from the damage done by this staff. Go to a real hospital where someone with good experience can heal you from this places glaring mistakes!! Also websites went secure over 10 years ago, and their website is not even https. Seriously lacking in every direction. Old staff that doesn't know new technology at all. You can buy a USA made h. pilori test on Amazon for 30$ and this place wants to charge 1500$. I say run as fast as you can out the door!!! I was seen in this office by a referral from my doctor for GERD. I was changed from Omeprazole 40mg once a day to Prontonix 20mg twice a day with a follow-up in 2 months. Symptoms did not improve so my Prontonix was upped to 40mg twice a day and told to take Pepcid at bedtime if needed. An endoscopy was scheduled in Nov of 23 with Dr. Doshi. The endoscopy showed no problems. In January I started experiencing stomach pain, and burning, and could not keep anything on my stomach. I lost 10lbs within a week. I called this office to get an appointment to come in and see the NP I had been seeing, only to be told she would not be in the office for a week. I asked to book with another provider only to be told that I could only see the provider I had previously been seen by. I ended up going to the ER and after 8 hrs was told to schedule with my Gastro provider! So one week later I was scheduled and appointment. As soon as she (the provider) walked in she never asked me one question, instead told me I was past due for a colonoscopy, and I needed to get that scheduled. I wasn't due for this procedure until 2 months! So after telling her I wasn't there for that and we needed to address what I was there for she suggested blood work and a stool sample, and another endoscopy and a prescription to help with ulcers! Dismissing herself she said someone would come and get me shortly. I lady came in, took me to the scheduling office, first and foremost... scheduled that colonoscopy and then the endoscopy! By now I was so week I could barely walk. The scheduler escorted me to my husband waiting in the lobby and told me to have a nice day!!! I get home to realize no one sent me to the vampire to do the bloodwork! I call and they tell me I will have to come back and get it done! So I make arrangements to go back in 2 days. The day of I get a call from the office wanting to go over the meds I need to stop before the endoscopy and I tell her we could have done this when I come in for the bloodwork to be drawn that they forgot to do. I am then told the phlebotomist won't be in until 12:30. So I arrive at 1:15 to find she is not there and may not be in that day "but you are welcome to have a seat and wait to see if she comes in!" They finally call someone from another Labcorp office to come over there!!! When the stool sample was done they told me it would take 5-6 days before results would be in. It is now 30 days and I have still heard nothing the day I went in for the endoscopy, so I started asking about it without giving up because they couldn't find any results in my Med Rec. One of the nurses went over to ask the NP provider about it and came back and told me the provider said she never did one on me. Five days later the results showed up in my patient portal chart!!!! Let me also add that by the time my endoscopy was over my arm was bruised halfway up my shoulder and halfway to my wrist, and 3/4 around that arm. They finally resorted to my left arm and got a line in!! The nurses were nice in the surgical unit, but that medical office is the pits of hell!!!!! When I voiced my opinion at the front desk with my level of care I was asked to have a seat and then the 2 front desk people started whispering and laughing!!!! I tell you to run as fast as you can!!!!! Worst medical care I have ever received in a medical office. read more

Dr Doshi has horrible bedside manner. Experience was overall very poor with him. Would not recommend.

I had a screening colonscopy this week at Triangle GI. Every step--start to finish--was done well. The nurses, staff, and anesthesiologist were excellent. Dr. Doshi was top-notch, patient, and kind. I'm a retired physician and have very high standards and expectations. This group and their office receive the highest recommendation from my corner. read more

My husband was scheduled for a 1:30 appointment. 12:30 We arrived and signed in 12:45 Completed necessary paper 1:30 Still waiting 2:00 VIP patient comes in and is greeted with a smile, told to come to side window and is promptly told that Dr Holt is running 2 hours behind. I'm like, hey we've been waiting for Dr. Holt for over 1.5 hours and no one told us anything. So I ask some lady (not the lady that checked us in) what was going on because we've been waiting a while. She's like oh, are u with Mr. G and I'm like "yeah". She states I was just about to tell you, it's going to be a two hour wait and asked would we like to reschedule. Then the other receptionist comes to the front with his fat, short, sloppy, male pattern balding behind. I mean really can we wear a belt and clothes that fit us when we are in a professional setting?? Do I really have to stand here and look at your black underwear while you make copies of my insurance and ID cards?? I mean GROSS!! Anyway, he states oh I forget to tell them Dr. Holt was running behind. Yeah I know they forgot about us, we are just Medicare patients (non VIP, non-gift giving patients). You were too busy laughing, cracking jokes, and beating on the desk to inform us. Well by this time my husband gets involved and just can canceled the appointment and we just left. I understand that unforeseen events happen and MD's run behind; that's the nature of the business but you have to communicate with your patients/clients. Now we have to find another GI specialist which could take weeks to be seen, and my husband is the one that has to suffer. Thanks for nothing Triangle Gastroenterology!! read more

Wonderful Experience all the way around! I was scheduled for a colonoscopy with Triangle Gastroenterology for family history of colorectal cancer. Everything with this organization went smoothly. Making the appointment, receiving great instructions ahead of time, wonderfully easy prep (Cleaniq), and great staff. We were greeted by a pleasant receptionist who took my information, incredible nursing staff (almost painless IV insertion) and postop care, and both doctors (Anesthesiologist and Dr. Doshi) were professional and caring. I would definitely refer this organization to anyone who needs GI care. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Holt for a couple of years now and I could not be happier with my treatment from him and his staff.

Let me start by saying that this practice is a ripe off for medicare, medicaid patients. My mother had been going to this practice for over eight or nine years. In 2013, she was asked to make an appointment for a consultation with her doctor. "The doctor" so called wanted to get more familar with the patient he was treating. "Hello" she had been coming to this practice for over eight years. This is something that should have happened when you established her as a patient. Well against my better judgement, she wanted to stick with this practice. Her consultation lasted for 3 hours. She waited two hours and ten minutes in the waiting room. Always an excuse for the delay in getting to her. However, this was nothing compared to the day of the procedure. My mother's appointment was scheduled for 10:30. She arrived at 9:00 because she was asked to arrive at 9:00. 10:30 am - no doctor 11:00 am still no doctor 11:15 am finally she was called back to the back 11:20 - 11:35 - a nurse was trying to put the IV in my mom's arm she was pierced twice with the needle, so the anesthesiologist stepped in and did it without a problem. My mother is 74 years young and those punctures were very painful. The actual procedure was not that long. I was called back to get my mother around 12:10. The nurse said the doctor would be in to talk with us within a few minutes to discuss the procedure. By 12:30, I was told the doctor had already gone into another procedure. The nurse apologized and said the doctor will talk with us once the other procedure was over. At 12:50, the doctor has come out of a procedure, starting talking with another family that was scene after my mother. WTH!!! Excuse me, can you please discuss the finding with my mother!!!! Sorry, I thought I had already discussed the results....HELLO, we are still here so I guess not. WE finally left this practice at 1:10. If my mother was not a diabetic, this problem really would not bother me because I know this is how doctor offices treat medicare and medicaid patients. However, they did take an oath. A patient is a patient. A doctor would not let their mother wait for precious life saving services and I do not want mine to wait either. She has earned this respect in life but she did not receive it at this office. FYI: The previous three procedures at this office were exceptional. This gastroenterology practice is the best I've ever been to. From the minute I walk in the door I feel welcomed and it already feels like they are concerned for my health and I get the feeling I'm going to be well taken care of. From the receptionists to Kelly and Millie )who see me before I see anyone else, I feel I am their #1 patient. The CNA who takes my vitals is always kind, professional and is well-informed and glad to answer any questions. Dr. Doshi is ALWAYS on time when he comes in to examine me, and his focus is always entirely on me. I'm almost 63 years old and am already seeing a lot of doctors, and, out of all of them, Dr. Doshi is at the top of the compassion and care list---hands down! read more

HORRIBLE PRACTICE DO NOT GO HERE!!! It is incredible at how unprofessional, inconsiderate and rude the office staff is, including Dr. Doshi. My mother was given an appt the day before her "scheduled" visit by one of the office staff members. This appt was confirmed by another one of office staff members since my mother was seeing a different doctor than the one she had seen before at the same practice 5 years ago (he was out on vacation). The next morning both my parents arrived at the office only to be told her appt was canceled and that the appt should never have been made with a different doctor. Heaven forbid you were ill and your doctor went on vacation in this practice. I then spoke with the office manager who was even worse and rude as compared to the rest of her office staff. The office manager indirectly called me a liar and said the appt was never made to begin with. Somewhere in between, Dr. Doshi was asked if he would see my mom since my parents drove 40-45 minutes to this practice but, he declined. My mom had an early 8:15 AM appt. In less than 24 hrs, this 8:15 AM slot got booked and he was all of a sudden busy to see my mom? There were absolutely no apologies for a mistake the office staff made, absolutely no consideration of elderly patients traveling close to an hour to see a clinician and absolutely no manners or respect for patients. I myself am a clinician and will be certain to NEVER refer any of my patients to this practice. read more

Dr Tumbapura is wonderful and very thorough! However, his staff needs a makeover. I was scheduled for a colonoscopy. Fortunately I didn't have to wait too long. The greeting med tech had a thick foreign accent and ordered me to take off my clothes and place them under the bed. No hello. No how are you? Just my orders. Then some nurse appeared to start my IV. I was wondering why she was looking at my arm in such an unusual place and had a needle in her hand at the same time. I'm 46 years old and I've had several IV's. I have never seen anyone place it in the spot that she had her sites set on. Since I am a phlebotomist I didn't want to tell her how to do her job, but I did ask why she wasn't planning to put the IV in the usual spot and I kind of gave her a heads up that my veins weren't exactly the greatest. OUCH!!! She didn't listen nor was she successful in setting up my IV. It hurt!! She removed it and then stuck me again in a different spot. She left such a nasy bruise on my arm that I have actually taken pictures to show people. They have been horrified! Finally I was wheeled in to have my proceedure. The staff was listening to Lady GaGa or something not very soothing. The meds took over and I was out(thank God) However, when I awakened after the proceedure the nurse was actually beating on my chest demanding that I "WAKE UP" because there are several other people waiting behind me. My daugher's were witness to this unkind and unprofessional behavior. read more

I have been a patient here for a couple years and have not been pleased at all with Dr. Tumbapura. He does not listen at all. He will tell me to try something different every time And to come back in a few weeks. Each time I come back I'm charged a co-pay and these tend to rack up after awhile. His assistant Jen is rude and does not return calls she is yet to return a call back to me that she promised 2 1/2 weeks ago. Today I tried to see someone else there and as someone else mentioned in a earlier post the office manager Laurie was VERY rude and told me no I couldn't see another Doctor there.
