I went to UNC Urgent Care at Flowers in Clayton for two weeks of ongoing gastrointestinal issues. Before coming in, I called on Saturday morning and was told they could provide me with a stool testing kit if needed, which is why I scheduled the visit for Monday. During the visit, the provider, Kellie Cochran, NP, introduced herself as "Dr. Kelly." I later learned from my paperwork that she is a nurse practitioner. I don't mind seeing an NP, but patients should be clearly told who they are seeing so that we can make informed decisions. Even though my symptoms had been going on for over two weeks, I was not given a stool test kit and was not offered a treatment plan. Instead, I was referred to a gastroenterologist for a colonoscopy, which was not the reason I came to urgent care. I was also told to follow up with primary care, but my new patient appointment is not until March 12. I left without testing, medication, or any real guidance on how to address what I came in for. If you need diagnostic testing done, I would recommend going somewhere else! read more

They are not urgent care. They are just a doctors office that has weekend hours. I took my daughter there because she was in severe pain from a UTI. First person there before they opened at 8am on a Saturday. Only to be told that they were BOOKED with appointments and she couldn't be seen until 12:30 where they had an opening. So basically not URGENT at all. We left and went to FastMed URGENT care and they saw her right away even though they also take appt times. But they leave spaces open for actual urgent appointments. I went to the urgent care at flowers crossroads on six April and was seen by a technician who advised I had shingles and gave me a prescription. I called back eight days later because I was running out of the prescription and I was still having the pain and the problems related to shingles. I was told I could not get a refill because they normally don't issue refills which I don't understand if they are an urgent care clinic. I was told that I would have to come in and see another technician. I am Wheelchair bound and do not have access to transport. I would have to get Visiting Angels at a very high cost because the minimum is four hours of their time. I was further told that they could not ask the technician Lori Gigey because she was not in the office today. I asked when she would be back and was told that the person I was talking to on the telephone did not have access to the schedule yet she was in the same clinic in which I saw the technician. I was then handed it off to Ernst who was rude and refused to give me the name of the lady I was talking to and told me somebody would call me back. I am so very fortunate to have this office near-by! Not only are they convenient, the staff is great! I have visited about 3 times now but on EVERY occasion, I have been treated with compassion, courtesy, and professional care. The offices are clean and well managed! Same day appointments are easy to manage and it's nice to be able to wait at home instead of the office. Many urgent care offices are walk in only with long uncertain waits in the lobby. So, thank you all, especially, Brad, Lindsee, Yolanda, Esso, Angel, Joy and Christopher my PA for the visit. Thanks for being there! read more

I visited this urgent care as I am new to the area and didn't have a primary physician. The front desk people were very kind. It took about an hour to be seen. The PA that day was Jason. He seems very knowledgeable but he has an attitude. I almost said something to him about it. Here's a clue Jason, don't make your clients feel like they are dumb. I went into the clinic today around 2:30 without making the appointment before hand by 3:10 I was in the exam room which the sweetest lady,I can't recall her name but she was 4"7, beautiful and warm!! I'm glad they didn't allow her on the amusement ride!! I entered feeling like death warmed over twice!! I left breathing without difficult, able to talk without getting short winded, aches were now tolerable!! From the front desk staff to Dr. Lori the entire staff was professional , courteous, caring ,empathic and ....hell they were just freaking OUTSTANDING!! If my parents were still alive this is the only place I would entrust their health to. Everyone at this facility truly gave me their undivided attention while caring for me.. Donna bless her heart kept my water cup full!! She advised me on what meds she was giving me and even apologized that she gave me cold water and offered to get some room temperature for me when I stated that was my preference!! After my first breathing treatment when Dr. Lori checked my breathing she was not satisfied with the wizzing, 2nd treatment and steroids was a success!! To be through she ordered a chest exray. The exray tech was in the room not 5 minutes later. Less than 15 minutes I was back in the room..Dr. Lori had me testes for COVID,RSV AND FLU as well all negative!! This was the ABSOLUTE MOST THROUGH AND TIME EFFICIENT MEDICAL ESTABLISHMENT IVE EVER BEEN TO!! Dr. Lori is a throwback to yesteryears when Dr.'s had a bedside manner that was pleasant and warming. She will always be the epitome of a great and caring provider to me.To top it all off I RECEIVED A HUG FROM DR. LORI!!!! What Dr. these days give that special ,so much appreciated ,human touch anymore?? Kudos to the person or people that put this amazing staff together. Heartbreakingly rude staff. Long waits. Everyone seems miserable. Really really really tried to ignore the reviews and hope this place could help my minor problem. I left in tears, owing money for the service of being snapped at and told they wouldn't do anything for me. I try to be an agreeable patient as I know our health heroes sacrifice a lot but this place is really a joke and every employee presents themselves as a grade A clown. Very disappointed in this location. They require you call before you come in, though They don't answer the phones (left on hold for 20min+). My wife was in searing pain and they won't let you inside. In a separate, previous, experience the PA/Doctor on duty had poor bedside manner and kept talking about how he "traveled the world" and "lived in so many different cities", and described why he felt Clayton was a "gross, suburban town". Avoid this urgent care. I would give 0 stars if possible. When we arrived to urgent care I could tell that they were not happy that we were there because they were closing soon. The visit was very rushed and the doctor shrugged off my son's symptoms and sent him home with nasal spray. I had to take my son to the ER that night because he got much worse and it turns out he had an infection. I followed up to let the urgent care know this because I feel like they should pay more attention to their patients and their symptoms. After over a month of calling and being told that I would receive a call and never getting one and patient relations asking her to call me, they finally got me a phone appointment with her. She was rude and clearly did not care about what I had to say. She claimed that she's been calling me but I never had a missed call and she never left a voicemail. She clearly could care less about patient relations and would've avoided this call completely if given the option. read more

i was standing outside with a white man calling in because my wife was having Covid symptom. him and I walked in together and when the lady at the front desk realized that I wasn't with the white man she refused care but checked the white man in stating that he was already her system. I asked how is that possible when we where both outside calling in at the same time. The lady at the front desk (Angel) she then told me to go to an Emergency Department or another urgent care center. I called back and got her name and asked for the nurse managers name and she gave me the name Patrice and refused to give me any other information. by the way my wife is an employee for UNC. read more

Denied medical care for not wearing a mask. Staff member said it was the "law" to wear a mask.

This is the worst Urgent care I have ever been too. Don't ever expect a phone call back after you call numerous times and wait to speak to someone regarding your urgent care visit. They also do not correct a wrong prescription written after new results come back from panel, if they are incorrect on your visit, that is that, you are on your own, to follow up with primary. Don't go to this facility, go to one on 42 west if you need a urgent care. read more

DO NOT VISIT, I visited this facility yesterday evening with a hand laceration. I'm new to the flowers community so given the state of emergency, I did not read the reviews before visiting. When I arrived, I was told to be seated and to fill out a form to provide the necessary information to identify the patient. I waited for an hour and a half with a open wound needing "urgent" care to be turned away from essential medical service and was told to go to the ER for help. As a former UNC healthcare employee, I was appalled that I was refused medical care, especially having multiple coverage insurance. They did not listen to anything I said. They kept typing things I didnt say into the notes. Example.. I said my neck hurt and the nurse typed in that I said it felt like my throat was closing up. Then they asked on a scale from 1 to 10 the pain number and typed in a completely random number and kept repeating it. They ran absolutely no tests and gave me a wrong diagnosis. According to the website, the facility is open until 8:00 pm. I brought not mom in at 7:15 pm and she was clearly in distress. Receptionist on duty told me they had met their capacity for the day and referred us to the hospital emergency room without at least taking my moms vitals. Poor customer service and no compassion, in my opinion. read more
