Watching the cook I noticed they pre-make their pancakes and then nuke them. The same for the french toast. Any time you see a microwave in a restaurant you should be concerned. And this is going to sound super judgemental, but I have to take away a star just for the microwave. And I didn't order the pancakes or the french toast, so who knows how they tasted. I stayed long enough to watch him make pancakes, so I guess he pre-made some for the rush. Same for the frech toast. The place doesn't have a hood vent so I can see why he wouldn't want to make a bunch on the spot with customers around, because the smoke was starting to fill up the place. I had a double espresso on this visit as well. And got that super good short bread cookie again. I am not a big sweet eater, but those little cookies are addictive. My food order was an egg whisk with ham. It comes with bread, but I opted out of that. They were really slammed with customers and to go orders so I waited quite a while for my food. Honestly it was worth the wait. Also got to watch the cook and he was doing a really good job of pumping the food out and it all looked delicious. So there is that. The set up is more like something you would have in your kitchen at home. Some of those sandwiches had great eye appeal. I am sure they were good because didn't see anyone sending anything back. I was a bit skeptical, due to how the placed looked on the inside but having a real espresso machine was a good 1st step. I had a vanilla latte which was delicious. We were there so we got drinks. 1 medium caramel macchiato for the Wife and it was very caramel sweet, not a good ratio in her opinion. We ordered a cappuccino, quad shot espresso, that I was charged for 2 espressos for instead of 1$ per extra shot like most other places. 2 Teas and it was over 30$. All the drinks could have been better. None of us really enjoyed them. Got the Fam some cake pops for 2.25 each everyone said they liked them. The service was good, only 1 kid working by themselves and it did take time for the drinks to be made. Luckily no one else was there so he was able to focus solely on our order. They were also out of a few different drinks the girls wanted first, so they had to choose a tea that was not really the best. My little one had the frozen hot cocoa and they enjoyed it. All in all we would most likely only stop back for coffee if we were in the area. It is a Sunday and we want coffee out, but not good enough to drive past our go to's for coffee on the other 6 days. Their menu changes seasonally and each seasonal special is always scrumptious. The menu staples that you must try: cheesy chicken crunch, any daily tea, smoked gouda pumpkin dip, windsors, broccoli salad, and the heavenly scones that come with Devonshire cream on the side. The scones come complimentary with your meal, but our family enjoys them so much we call ahead to warn them we're coming and order extras. It doesn't matter what flavor scone they're serving, they are all delicious; cooked perfectly, soft and crisp at the same time. I've yet to find any place with scones that can replicate or out do these, and since this place is over 1300 miles from my home, believe me I've tried. The scones here are so delicious that we even had them served at our wedding. Along with the daily tea they also offer a daily soup and daily quiche. This is one of the few places I've ever been where I've always been satisfied with whatever is coming out of the kitchen. They also offer dessert, but between appetizers, our meal and the many scones we have, there is hardly ever enough room left for dessert. Beyond the amazing food, this place gives back to their community. They participate in many of the local events, and promote the city. They host special events such as tea with the Easter Bunny, Santa Clause, and Mrs. Clause, and these events have been major memory making events in the childhoods of our family. We love any event they're hosting. When our father was going through cancer treatments and couldn't make it to join us, as he usually would, they sent us home with a goodie bag with well wishes written on it for him. They are truly good people that value the relationships they build with their customers. We as customers were just as emotional as one of the servers when they were leaving to retire, which is just one example of the bonds built here. While this is a tea room and fully supports any fancy tea attire, you can also come as you are, they're happy to see you either way. They also have many hats through out the tea room that can be worn or used while there. In addition to food, they also have a retail area and various retail items throughout the tea rooms within the building. My favorite time to shop here is Christmas time because they have the cutest aprons which are perfect for making Christmas cookies with the family. They also sell the tea that they make, pre made or just the tea itself (loose leaf or in bags), they're not gatekeeping, they want to share the goodness. If you want to enjoy the Florida weather, you can opt to dine outside on the front porch. No matter which spot you choose to take it all in, you won't be disappointed. We come home to this area nearly 3-4 times a year and we never come back without making sure we visit this tea room. My only warning is that the neighbors next door aren't cool and they won't share the obviously available parking, so make sure to pay attention to the posted parking signage when choosing your spot. We also recommend a reservation if you plan to come with a larger party since the different tea rooms can limit where you can be seated, based on availability.
