Four of came here for lunch. We came early which was good because it filled up quickly. And had one very large party. But service did not suffer. I got a burger and it was good and came as I ordered it. read more

I love finding downtown institutions and was surprised this has only been here since 2000, the way everyone comes to visit and hang out. In many ways, it's a Jersey diner. I had an 8oz ribeye steak sandwich and it was an actual steak on a sandwich. The Texas toast was done perfectly. The steak was done rare like I asked and tasted amazing. All the staff were friendly, many high school or college age. Just my kind of place all around. And with a second room behind, you'll always have a seat for you and your kin. We visited Oskaloosa this week and got to try Tasos' after seeing many great reviews. My hubby and I stopped by for lunch during the week and ordered their Hangar Steak with a side of fries and coleslaw, and my hubby got their Catfish dinner and a side of coleslaw and side salad. Everything was cooked very well and seasoned nicely. It was extremely busy when we came here so be prepared to wait a little bit. We also ordered a few things to go -- the lasagna and the ribeye steak with a side of spaghetti and baked potato and we enjoyed it. All in all, Taso's serves up tasty food with great service. It definitely seems like a popular restaurant in this town. We would recommend trying it here if you are in the area. read more

Usually good food. Stay away from steak and chicken usually OVERCOOKED. Pasta dishes and sandwiches usually excellent. Service can be spotty. Excellent at times, really poor others. One night we arrived late and servers ignored us after delivery of meals. Two girls started side work and cleaning instead. We had to ask for water refills, coffee refills and had to flag them down for anything! No tip given. Other nights I have gotten the best service ever. Ambience is okay. Greek steak house local flavor. A place to bring someone from out of town if on a busy night. You will likely see a neighbor there. read more

This was my first visit to Oskaloosa and Tasos' was highly recommended and now I know why. Everything we had was phenomenal! Our waitress was a doll and ensured our food came out exactly when it needed to. The decoration was charming, especially the wall dedicated to the Hawkeyes. The food was amazing! I got the flank steak with Caesar salad and Navy bean soup and my girlfriend got jumbo shrimp with fries and Caesar salad. The dressing was delicious and traditionally prepared, the bean soup was wonderfully seasoned and the steak was divine. The jumbo shrimp were crunchy and the fries were perfect. Ok so I always get the spaghetti its very big very filling and very good its very clean in there the staff are always nice its kind of pricy depending on what you get. The staff are very nice and are patient and wait on you. The bathrooms are clean the whole place is just clean. read more

Their menu is diverse & was great for our party of 15 (some w/ food allergies). They do have a private room for larger parties; we shared it on a Friday evening w/ 2 other moderately large parties. We had a potato casserole, Reuben, tenderloins, pastas, salads, ham steaks, shrimp, etc & everyone enjoyed their meal. Wait staff worked well together to get our food all out in a timely way. They do have beer in bottles in a cooler in the back but beverages are not on the menu so we were not aware. Other beverages are Pepsi products & lemonade. They have a wide variety of pies (we had apple & coconut cream) & a type of cheesecake for dessert. Decor is a big collection of memorabilia. read more

We've stopped several times & it's always a good meal at a reasonable price! The menu is varied, so something for everyone. Hubby had a ham potato casserole. I had a grinder that was actually a sausage ball sandwich--not the usual ground meat grinder. Both were tasty! I had a Greek salad to start & it was delicious! In my opinion, the best food and service in town. We are local patrons, frequently eat here and have never been disappointed. We especially love their homemade pizza, but also enjoy chicken strips, tenderloins, wraps, etc. If you ever have a concern, address your waitress immediately. She will go out of her way to correct any issue. Paula is the most thoughtful, caring, experienced server I have ever met. There is definitely a shortage of parking spaces and those nearby are extremely narrow, shame on the city. I would give Tasos more stars for serving their food fresh and hot from the kitchen every.single.time. I honestly believe you should consider current reviews and not those from years past. read more

STEAK!! and the steak here has always been good. employee's are masked! (who was that masked gal??) yea a lone ranger reference!! the seating is spaced... they just used blue painters tape x's on the no sit tables. kinda cool idea!! no need to reset the furniture!! nice booth setup, super clean in side. the gal came to take our order, well we pretty much knew what we wanted. she gave us a scare... heck it is not even Halloween yet!! stating there was a shortage on steak.. I almost left thinking we had made a special trip out taking a chance for no steak?? lol!! well they had ribeye's!! LOL!! that is what we wanted any way!! so steak med rare, baked potato (the ones here are real good) salad with red dressing. just water to drink. drinking cups are now pepsi paper cups, straws. we noticed another table had 1/4 sheet and 1/8th sheet food service hd trays.. kinda cool concept!! I thought on this... "auto clave" came to mind!! and I was right!! they were doing the chem wash down then baking the pans to make sure they are germ free!! first the salad they lined the bottom of the pan with a paper.. and it worked ok!! basic green salad with yellow cheese and garlic croutons and some strings of cucumber. yea it was good! 3/4 of the way down the salad and the steaks arrived. NICE CUT!! they were the large cut for 20.00!! wow! texas toast, every thing I ordered! perfect sear on the steak!! the only thing I would to have done is maybe come up with some thing to keep the steak warm till the end of the feast.. that is a hard one... some thing they could get easy off the shelf to put under the 1/4 sheet.. I will have to think on this!! I needed hot steel.. and that could be done in the pizza oven.. but how could it be done and not burn the table.. ahh some on will figure that one out.. back in the day the steaks joints had the sizzling platters with the aluminum insert and a wood bottom.... but now you could not get those clean... maybe a high heat silicone bottom formed.. that stuff can be cleaned and autoclaved.. hummm lol at any rate the food is good and they have a pretty good safe plan here!! they are also doing food to go! well done osky taso's!! read more

Tasos's is one of our favorite family restaurants to stop at in Osky. Such a great menu, with all sorts of options. I'm pretty partial to their box lunches, as it a is a great amount of food for an excellent price. Service here is always spectacular. They never seem to be short of help like most places which is a relief. You can dine in for a meal here as they have plenty of seating in the well decorated dinning room, or you can call in your to go order if you are passing through. Either way, we are never disappointed at the quality of food and good portions we get for a fair price! read more

I'm in town for a family event and we decided to come here for dinner. Our server was extremely rude, but you could tell she thought she was being funny. I ordered the veggie potato casserole and it was absolutely disgusting. I ate 2 bites and gave up. It was loaded with nacho cheese out of can and was awful. 0 flavor besides the overload of green olives. Thankfully I ordered a side Caesar salad, which was fine. My husband ordered the fish sandwich and let me eat some of that, which was good (but anything would be good after the casserole. I went to Taso's one time and I asked for an ungodly amount of ranch on the side. Seriously... I wanted a lot of ranch. I usually ask for a side of ranch only for it to be either forgotten, or half of a tiny cup of ranch. I went to Taso's because they've got that good ranch.. if you're a true ranch connoisseur, you know what I'm talking about. That creamy delicious goodness that is runny and the furthest thing you can get from hidden valley. Seriously, I base my restaurant choices on their ranch offering. Anyway... back on track with my story... I went to Taso's and I asked them for a lot of ranch. The waitress gave me A BOWL FULL OF RANCH and my life was changed with that amazing customer service. WOW! Excellent service, I interesting decor, awesome menu! Great variety! Large array of salads, pizza, burgers, variety of sandwiches, steaks and pasta, soups and it looks like the desserts change from day to day. That's what I remember, might be more! My folks both had the ribeye, the cook was perfect and the steak tasty. Dad had fries, they were excellent, slightly seasoned and crispy. Mom had skewered shrimp, cooked perfectly, not over cooked, not rubbery. I had the Italian combo. Lasagna, stuffed manicotti, and ravioli baked e casserole with lots and lots of cheese. Good food and good service. Nothing super stellar but everything tasted fine and the pricing was decent. The plating was really really basic which surprised me seeing its called a steak house. Pretty full capacity and the host tried to sit tables spaced out but as it got busy tables got closer and closer together. If masks are something important to you, this place did not pass the vibe check. Both servers and customers didn't have masks on. Tasos' isn't your typical steak house. They have an extensive menu that covers several ethnic tastes. If you can't find something on this menu to your liking your not hungry. The food for me has always been good. The servers have always been very good. There is always a lot of local people there,which I enjoy talking to.
