Volkswagen of Spartanburg almost single handedly restored my confidence in the company. I got a basic oil change and tire rotation at their service center. From the moment I walked in the door, all employees were incredibly professional. They advised that the oil change is going to take longer than usual and apologized for that. The oil change didn't take that long. You know the really amazing thing? This shop didn't stop to waste my time trying to upsell me on further repairs. They asked "Is the oil change and tire rotation all we're doing today?" and actually respected my answer of "yes, please." They simply did their job, got me out of there, and printed their recommended service items that weren't tackled on my receipt. Holy crap, I don't remember the last service center that identified issues but didn't try to upsell me on them. This Volkswagen dealership is amazing. Is it enough for me to buy my next Volkswagen from them? Honestly, probably not. I have no desire to drive another Volkswagen. That said, as long as I'm stuck with my VW, they will be my go-to for any repairs/maintenance that I need.

We were then told that they had installed Lo Jack on the vehicle and they do that on all their vehicles. So we thought we were getting more value. We were not told that it cost us $995. We would not have purchased that additionally. At the finance table we signed a lot of documents which were not explained well to us. I mentioned the price of $20,806.00 which was now on the top of the contract and he explained that it was taxes and fees. It was late and we need to get home so we carried on. After a couple of days we began to regret some of the extras like the waranties. So we called to make an appointment to take those off the finance deal. It was then we understood that we had paid an extra $995 for Lo Jack. Sounds like it should be easy to take care of, right? After removing the warranties and adjusting the financing. we asked about the Lo Jack and were told that it couldn't be removed and we were stuck with it. They wouldn't rebate the $995. I got in touch with Lo Jack and they said it was up to the dealer to remove the device and rebate the cost. To date, after leaving messages for the general manager to return a call to us, we have been ignored. We are happy with the car but the service leaves much to be desired.

The day before Thanksgiving 2020 my employer fired me because I didn't have reliable transportation into the office all the time. I tried working with Burns but they just wanted too much down for the new car. Fast forward January of 2021 I got a new job in and reached out to Mr. Burns to see if his payoff offer was still valid. He said he could extend it through March and re-activate my payments account. On January 28th He agreed to re-open my payment portal so I could begin making $500 a month payments to pay off the debt for $1,500. (See screenshot of agreement) March 1, (as the screenshots below show through March 10th) I could not login to make a payment. From Jan. 28th until I filed a dispute with them through Equifax my pay portal was not re-opened March 19th. So on March 1st seeing is how Mr. Burns (Charlie) wasn't going to re-open my portal and hold true to his written payoff agreement I went to Joe Maus Mazda and bought a 2018 Mazda CX-5 with 30k miles and my payments we're only $60.00 a month more then financing through Burns for a 2004 Lexus RX330 with 100,000 miles on it. So I used the money I had been putting aside to pay off Burns Chevy to buy a new reliable car. As far as I'm concerned, whether they still claim to be Christians or not, The Burns family and Burns Buy Here Pay Here of Gaffney are lying sinners. They'll say one thing and give you hope of not damaging your credit and then report a car both parties have signed off on as totaled and sold to the insurance company as a Repossession. Found that out from Joe Maus Mazda when I bought my new car. My question is how do you repo a car we legally sold to Geico insurance? You don't, you fraudulently list it as a repo after making a payment arrangement to pay it off. Thank god I had all my documentation from the car and Geico on my phone at the new dealership to show them where myself and Burns had sold the car to Geico and where it has even been auctioned off. My advice stay away from the crooked folks over at Burns Chevy of Gaffney. Go to Joe Maus Mazda, See Abi, Jarrell, Jack Maus, and Hannah Maus. You'll thank me later.
