Love this place. Been going here for years. Their apple cinnamon bread is fabulous!!!!

    Cider order.

I was passing by on 127 heading back home to Hillsdale county from Clare. We arrived in early afternoon, parking, there over a dozen vehicles, we passed an area for children play area, with many children, and a few adults and parents. Walking to the Pie factory, there were about a dozen people inside, browsing, ordering and sitting. I walked to their store and browsed, walked up stairs ordered a cup of cider, it was very tasty, in older setting to sit at, the cashier was very pleasant, the other servers were as pleasant.

I expected this to be a big tourist trap. It has a lot more going on than meets the eye from the road. It is definitely worth the stop. Great place to just check out and walk around. Tons of parking and it's free. I was pleasantly surprised that everything we looked at was made in house, even the wine. The apple pie was probably the best I've had in years. I've heard it's the best cider mill around. Go check it out for your self.

I look forward to a trip to Uncle John's every fall!!! I love the hard cider flights, and they had live music when I went. The cider mill and donut shop is another must-stop. I didn't do the corn maze this year because we ran out of time but it's always fun, and this year we did a wagon ride! All the staff are so friendly and seem genuinely happy to be there. Definitely things for the whole family, as well as things geared more towards adults!

Lots of alcoholic beverages to choose from

This place is magical, and we happened to come on the day before the season closed so it was practically empty! Of course, all of the hard cider varieties were so delicious. We had to try the sampler, and the staff were so friendly in helping us set it up. There are plenty of bottles and cans to take home for friends and family. There's also a very large gift shop where you can purchase non-alcoholic cider for the family. I'm so glad we were able to check it out without the crowds!

    Uncle John's - apple trees!

LOVE Uncle John's! It is SO much more than a cider mill, that's for sure! This place is massive, especially coming from SE Michigan where cider mills are truly just cider mills and that's about it. Uncle John's has a whole pumpkin patch you can walk through, cornstalks, apple trees, the whole nine. There is so much to do here, totally family-friendly AND dog-friendly, and their cider is BANGING! Love this place and always find myself pulling in whenever I'm in the area when the air gets crisper and the leaves get crunchier! :)

    Kids area having fun!

Uncle John's was a family must do each year as a kid from Lansing. Went back many years later what a change. With a kids area the wine/cider samples and the great bakery to take with you to enjoy. Had to get some fresh donuts and hot cider to enjoy. Got one of each flavor to share with our friends. The buttermilk donut was our favorite one. With the warm cider samples done we had to go play in the kids area. Uncle Jonhs has so much to see and do now. It was great to see the mill is still alive as well. This is what mid Michigan is all about with all the fresh food items and a good family atmosphere. This is a place you should consider if you are in the area. Timing is everything if you want to see the mill in operation.

We love this place, and the people are awesome! They produce a great selection of delicious wines/meads and ciders, as well as offer trendy merch and swag. Today they had a fab food truck and entertainment to enjoy on the patio. It was perfect rest stop one the drive home. We tried their doughnuts and perused their bakery gift shop for the first time and we very impressed by the selection of gifts and such. Moreover, their doughnuts are the best "cakey" ones I've ever had!! I'm normally not a doughnut person, but these were awesome!!

Uncle John's Cider Mill is definitely a hidden gem!!! From corn maze, apple picking, pumpkin patch, and a taproom, this is definitely an amazing fall season stop. The cider and wine flights were amazing and for a great price. The overall scenery was perfect for a fall day!!

The best cider and donuts around. A must visit place every fall. Tradition and small towns. What's not to love?

Some (or all) of their ciders are JUST yeast and apples, so there's no extra sugar added that makes it undrinkable. The two running the tasting room (Saturdays only) were a pleasure to talk to about cider and craft beer. They even gave us a tour of their facility without us even asking. We ended up doing a flight of ciders, getting a pint, and taking home two bottles. Glad to support them!

On a 16 acre Apple orchard, sits a cidery and tasting room that utilizes over 1000 different strains of apples; some of which were once nearly extinct, to bring you a unique tasting experience. My Wife and I came on a freezing cold windy and snowy day, and walked into a warm and welcoming tasting room. There is a bar, along with a few tables, that could seat about 20-25 people. We each had a flight of the 4 ciders they currently had available, and then a few tasters of our favorites after that. We ended up buying 2 bottles of cider, a pint glass, a shot glass and two shirts; one for each of us. LOVED their logo. As they grow and more people find out who and where they are, I bet Forgotten ciders will be on a shelf near you. Until then, come taste and talk with the family that owns and runs this hidden gem. Best of luck. We'll be back when we're in town.

They had opened their doors right before coronavirus caused the three month shutdown, so this was our first chance to go in. We have had their cider before at other downtown bars etc (they sell their signature cider to a few locations around town and had curbside service), so both of us were eager to give their tap room location a whirl. They had a nice variety of reasonably priced ciders on tap by the glass, including the option to order flights for $12, in addition to howlers and growlers. I ordered Walk the Lime, which was a tart flavored cider. I rather liked it, it wasn't too dry or zesty. I've had their signature, Flint City Dry, which is decent, but a bit too dry for me and not my favorite. However, Pineapples in Flight was excellent and is one of my favorites. Maybe next time I'll get one of their flavored cider shots. The cider infused cocktails looked interesting, too, so I'll try one of those the next time we stop in. Overall, the cider options were varied. The service was good, the cider was excellent and the location has promise. It was dark, but very spacious with substantial seating and a few arcade games and whatnot, with a nice stage area, which I kinda hope will be home to live music down the road. I didn't notice a food menu yet, but perhaps that will change in the future.

The cider is really good, they have flight options and howlers and growlers to go (we bought one). Now they have food- they have a terrific gourmet grilled cheese food truck outside specifically catering to Flint City Hard Cider called Hard Core Grilled Cheese. They're really good, so good in fact, that we ordered a third sandwich with chips to split after we had already ordered sandwiches with our cider. They even have vegan/vegetarian option, including vegan cheese for the less carnivorous types (my wife is happy about that). All sandwiches come with pickle spears and homemade chips. The food was excellent and the cider was great. Service can be hit or miss, depending on how busy they are, but the staff was pleasant and helpful when describing cider options. I like the atmosphere and the vibe. It's quiet and relaxing. They have bar seating, family style seating and two person tables throughout. The night we were here, they were hosting a curbside concert outdoors. The entire evening was nice. It'll be great when they can use the stage they have inside to host live music.

However, during our most recent visit, we noticed quite a few changes from previous years, and unfortunately, not all for the better. They no longer have the scenic hayride that used to include a free donut and a cup of apple cider with your ticket purchase. Now, it's $5 per person, and instead of a peaceful scenic ride, it stops at every station and they no longer give you a donut & cider with ticket purchase. When we asked about the change, we were told it was because they weren't making money off the old setup. I understand businesses need to adjust, but it really took away from the experience. That scenic ride with the cider and donut was always one of the highlights for us ; something we truly looked forward to every year. They did add more bouncy houses for the kids, which is nice, but the ones they had before were just as fun. The food was about the same, decent, but nothing special. It was noticeably more expensive this year. $5 for a single ear of corn felt excessive. On the positive side, the cinnamon donuts are still amazing, and the apple cider is as delicious as ever. I also enjoyed the wine tasting, which is always fun, though seating is still limited and could be improved. Overall, the visit just didn't have the same charm or warmth as before. We still had an okay time, but it didn't feel as memorable as past years. Sadly, I think this might be our last year visiting, we'll probably look for a new orchard next fall.
