Came here last Saturday and was given fries instead of potato salad as requested. 2 hours later when I opened my bag to enjoy dinner, imagine my reaction?! I don't order fries simply due to the fact they will be cold and nasty when arriving at home even if eaten immediately. They cool due to travel time, the car AC and they aren't hot when bagged because the staff don't care how long they've been out the hot oil. I must admit, their grease must be cleaned daily since these fries tasted fresh and delicious even cold. I ate a few and threw the rest to the dogs. Still upset my order was wrong but they were longed closed for the night. Went by there just now to take advantage of their lunch special I saw online. Imagine my surprise when my $8.75 special was $12 and change today? After sitting in line 15 plus minutes to reach the window for an explanation I was told due to the holiday they don't do their lunch special pricing! That important disclaimer should be on their WEBSITE! Grrr! Guess they didn't expect people like me to refuse their poor business practices. I will check again to see if I overlooked a disclaimer and will apologize if I did? Nawl, I pulled off and they didn't get my $9 nor my $12. They won't miss it because they will be busy. It's poor business practices that prevent them from making twice as much EVERY day. I would not had travelled to Hueytown, spent time in their slow line nor idled my gas unnecessary in the extra hot afternoon heat that wasted even more fuel. After the wrong item, not being told extra sauce in my meal was extra last week and this wasted trip I might not be back? There was a truck at the window as I followed directions and drove around the building at 7;58 pm. I didn't know what time they closed? I was a woman alone behind a building in a dark alley like lane. I waited at the order window for awhile. Said "Hello'? No answer. I waited until 8:02,and pulled around. The manager was pulling the cash drawer from the register. It is extremely rude and shows little concern for their customers to just ignore them like that. Two seconds was all it would have taken to say, " We are Closed". But to leave me sitting in that dark alley is just dangerous. Any criminal could've ran up to my window and taken control of me, my car if not both! No one knew where I was! The light was still on at the menu and the big sign out front. Shame on this business to be that unprofessional. Especially with the manager at the intercom system at the register. So at exactly 8 pm, their customer service skills cease? 2,seconds to say, "WE ARE CLOSED"! It was all it took to have kept me as a customer. I was not worthy of that kindness and professionalism. Went there for lunch. The pictures and the long line got me hopeful for some good BBQ, but boy was I disappointed. I got the combo plate with white meat. My order was a bit wrong, which is fine. But the food wasn't great either. The fries aren't good, the chicken was super dry and tough (even drenched in sauce), and the pulled meat didn't have much of a flavor. They always have something cooking in the back, and the line is always pretty busy outside in the drive through. On Sundays or on holidays, prepare yourself to wait. I had just participated in the Hueytown Christmas parade. And, on the home I decided to stop in and get take out. I was surprised they only have 4 or 5 side items. Also, no Hamburgers. I ended up ordering a pork plate w/beans, slaw and fries, 3 slices of pie, and a large chopped pork sandwich. If it wasn't for the pies being so good I probably would have drove (25 miles) back for a refund on the sandwich. It had bits of gristle and fat. Not real flavorful either. 3/13/2024 - ordered a slab of ribs ($24.95) and a drink ($2.25) with half served to eat inhouse and other half to be taken home. Order was written up as 2 half slabs at $15.25 a piece... caught it at the register and the guy said he couldn't change the way it was written up, even though I mentioned it before he ran my card -- so I was overcharged $5. Mentioned it to the order taker and she said that's the way they write it up if it's a split order. I asked how it would have been handled if I ordered a slab and then asked for a go-box, and she said I would have been charged $24.95. Was not going to bitch about it, but as I sat here eating, it started irritating me because the ribs were not great, well, they really were not even average... stringy and not very flavorful. This is a nice little BBQ place in Hueytown, Alabama. No frills, good food, nice people. You will be served your food in a Styrofoam container, so you can then decide to take it with you or eat it there. You won't return for the ambiance (or lack of) but you probably will return for the good food and reasonable prices. read more

The loaded baked potato is to die for!! It has everything except the kitchen sink on it!! The barbecue chicken they put on it is... oh my Jesus!! So so good!! The fries... potato salad.. beans... not a bad thing on their menu!! They even have pies! You can buy them by the Alice or a whole pie. The slices are reasonably priced but the whole pie not so much. All the other prices are pretty good. My only complaint would be that they don't do burgers. We are burger eaters more than barbecue.
