I visited this comedy club with a small group for a show on a Saturday night. The space is a decent size for a small venue, but I didn't realize that it was BYOB. Thankfully, there's a liquor store just a few shops down, so two of us popped out to grab some beverages. After returning, a server came to us for orders and told us it was a $20 minimum per person. My friend pulled up the tickets that said it was a $15 minimum and the server said they would need to go check with someone about that. They took an order from the person next to us, then said to my friend that $15 was good. That was extremely weird and we laughed about it, who did they ask, the air? None of us were surprised by the low quality of the food, bland slop, if you will. My friends shared a dessert that tasted like it was fresh out of the freezer and was practically inedible. Small comedy club located in Point Pleasant. I misunderstood that you needed a $15 minimum if you didn't attend their pre-show dinner. That kind of put a damper on our plans since we were going to go eat ahead of the show. We ended up ordering food here, it was OK, nothing special. It is kind of nice that you can BYOB so you can bring whatever you want and not have to worry about dropping lots of $$ on drinks. Since we went in off-season the parking wasn't bad at all. Fun place in the town center that has local comedy. I've gone a few times and it was always a great laugh. BYOB and get dinner there! 2-3 different comedy acts, and the headliners are always great. Vicky the waitress is the bomb! There is a very good community feel at this place. wait staff, cook, owner, comedians. It's a good crowd. They do a prefixe-ish style menu so your food can come out without too much bustling in the middle of the show. Wow. Free tix to the comedy club. It doesn't get much better than that. Well, at least the entrance was covered. The local experience is cool. There are so many unknown comedians in the greater metro area that it's hard to keep tabs. There's a rather small stage with many tables abound. The waitstaff is very personable but are clearly absent during the performance. (Should they be?) Here's the scenario: they want you to be there 45- 60 prior to the show cuz they suggest that you should spend at least $10 pp. This is a BYO place. They will bring any glasses, ice, utensils that you would need as in a typical restaurant. The food is good, it's not gourmet but is GOOD. The crowd is mixed with all ages. Note: this is not a club for kids. Most of the comedians are of R rated genre. Restrooms were very clean. Parking could be a problem cuz you will be in the middle of the main thoroughfare. read more

Horrible customer service! I attempted to purchase tickets for a show in July with a gift card but the website would not allow me to enter the gift card number. I spoke with the owner Dino who informed me they only allow you to bring the gift card into the club for reimbursement after purchasing tickets online with a credit card. I do not live locally and can't afford to charge my credit card and acrew several months of interest charges waiting for the July show. Dino claimed he looses money on shows where people use gift cards to purchase tickets and then they don't show up but in reality he has the money already from people buying the gift cards so he looses nothing. I asked him what he does with all the money he makes on gift card sales if he doesn't put it towards the shows they are meant for and he told me if was none of my business. Def sounds like something illegal is going on with this club, I will never spend another penny there! They have lost a loyal customer! We've lived here 30 years and have never been to the club. We went for the first-time last Saturday to see Joe Devito from The Gutfeld show. He was great. The two warm up comedians were just OK. The website doesn't give much info on procedures. Shows start at 9. There's a minimum $15 per person food requirement. If you're having dinner, you're permitted to enter the club at 7. If having appetizers, you can come in at 7:45. But that doesn't mean you're going to eat at 7:45. Our food came out after 8:30. The dinner people get served first. The dinner people get the tables up front. The appetizer people get the long tables in the back. Strangely you don't know what's on the dinner menu until the day of the show. Making a no refund dinner reservation when you don't know what's on the menu? It's idiotic. The finger foods are listed online. We don't like eating late, especially a full dinner so we did finger food. Sitting at the long tables also means you get to sit with strangers. The couple next to us were lovely. The couple on the other side of them reeked of cigarettes. Just disgusting. People at the end of the table were talking during the opening acts. Assholes. I would never go to a show here, if I didn't know anything about the comedian. However, many people inline where there just to see anybody that night. Not us. We don't want to be disappointed. Food? It was $69.95 for the full dinner not including tip. The good news it is byob but the food is inedible. I suggest they don't serve food and just charge more for the ticket. Went there recently with a small group of friends. Was very disturbed upon entering as we observed a vomit like smell throughout. The chair I sent in was soiled with what appeared to be vomit that had been wiped up. Remaining was a residue of pieces of food (such as corn, shredded meat, chunks of tomato and other unidentifiable matter). One of my friends used the restroom and observed a used and dried-up condom. My friend had received complimentary tickets and invited my girl, her sister and I for a night out. We arrived early only to learn that the "free tickets" were for another night. Very disappointing that the manager / owner wouldn't even offer a discount from the $23 entry fee and $10 minimum per person. We were early and the place was empty aside from the wait staff. After reading the reviews, I figure that this place must pack people in as they don't care about their online reputation. It's amazing when you think about the fact that I've lived at the shore my entire life and the first time I walk into this so called comedy club, that the jokes on me as they obviously don't care about repeat customers. This is just all around bad business sense. After all the smoke clears, how much money in ticket sales, food, drinks etc. have they wasted by not even considering offering an alternative than just turning a party of four away at the door? The only reason for the single star is because the talents that play here make it a viable option. But if you can see the same people elsewhere, I'd recommend it. I recently drove from Boston for an event here. I bought tickets via the artist's website- not UNCLE VINNIES. I bought 12:00 pm tickets. When the tickets printed, it said event time 10:00 am-2:00 pm. Shortly thereafter, I received an email, this time from UNCLE VINNIES confirming my purchase the evnt date and time of 10:00 am. So, doing my due dilligence, I called UNCLE VINNIES, but no one answers the phone until 7:55 pm the day before the event. So I am speaking with a sweet young woman who basically says, "Ummmmm I don't know. Yeah, I think if the ticket says 10:00, then there must've been a change. Doors will open between 9:00 am and 9:30 am. Be there then." Unsatisfied, I said, "Do you want to check with someone?" She replies, "no nobody here knows anything and my boss isn't in tonight." Home run UNCLE VINNIE, home run. So I set my alarm for 3 am, instead of 7 which is when I would have gotten up to drive to the palatial cave of uncle VINNIES only to arrive before ten and immediately be acosted by this ape at the door. I showed him my ticket and he says really rudely, " ummm ma'am, this is a show only ticket. You're ot supposed to be here until 12:00. So I explained the above due dilligence, and he YELLS AT ME, "I DONT KNOW THAT YOU CALLED. you're getting wise with me, and I don't know what to tell you. " Could that be because you're a ignorant ass? Yes, I think so! So I said, I apologize to you for pointing out your shortcomings, but I think I'm the one who's owed an apology. He offered to let me purchase two upgraded VIPs so I could stay in the room- ahhhhhh no! When we came back for twelve, the idiot states" not ready comeback at 12:30. " we do, he grunts 15 more minutes. We wait. At one we walk in, barely sit down and we're hit with a$10 minimum of the most inedible food ever, ( how do you make a mozzarella stick badly?????)served with $2 yellow supposedly bottled , but in fact, tap water. Glancing at the menu of about 12 things including apps and desserts, I counted nearly 15 spelling errors. Moments later, two disgruntled ladies joined us at our table ( :30 into a 1:00 q&a) . At the end of the event they confided that they were told to arrive at 1:30 for the 12:30 event. What the hell???????? The review is for the venue, not for the performer. We chose to go to the earlier showing with included a 3 course meal. Immediately I noticed none of the 3 forks they gave me matched, I had a soup spoon, she had a tea spoon, both of our glasses were dirty - lipstick. The restroom was quite unappealing as well. The food was poor. The Cesar salad was acceptable, the chicken parmigiana came out steaming hot, but the meat was cold - the same was for the salmon. It must have been pre cooked and not reheated enough. The service was poor. I really hate to say this because they are running hard! The really do try! I feel like there are 75 customers here and the waitstaff can not keep up. The staff was FANTASTIC and the food wasn't bad either. The show tix were $27 with a $10 pp min (this is where I messed up) . I was thinking "10 bucks? no problem...I'd be able to cover the drink min for the entire table BUT it's BYOB, which I didn't know until we were seated (my fault; didn't notice it on their site when I bought the tix). LUCKILY, their next door neighbor is a liquor store (thank God...can you imagine - Comedy w/o Cocktails ;) As for the food, we didn't expect much to begin with but the food really wasn't bad - we ordered a bunch of apps (think Applebee's) and we also ordered the shrimp cocktail: a dozen plump juicy shrimp that were cooked PERFECTLY....all for $18....seriously, these shrimp were better than most high-end restaurants, so we ordered another dozen when the main act began - YUM! The comedy wasn't bad - it wasn't that good, but it wasn't bad. IMO the "opener" was better than the main attraction. The seating is a little cramped if you're getting a table for 2, but our table of 6 was quite comfortable...and, it seems as if every table has a good view of the stage. I was most impressed with the service - EXCELLENT! Very attentive, cleared the dirty plates quickly, always there with refills for the two who were drinking soda. All-in-all a fun night out! My forth time at the venue last night. Dinner and comedy package. The two comedians were awesome. One of the comedians I did see once before and it was the same exact skit, so that was a let down but otherwise had a wonderful time. Large party of 11, food comes out quickly. Although I wish it started maybe before dessert? It defiantly is a long experience when you are there. Food was pretty good- so far I've hard chicken parm and rib eye there. The rib eye was huge, I did ask for nothing on it for it to come out with everything ON it. I sent it back and I'm sure they just scraped it off.. Doesn't seem like they would care enough to make new? We intend on going back, we go frequently for fundraiser at this venue. It's the greatest. Uncle Vinnies is pulling some of the top NJ and NYC comedy to date and rivals the other N.J. clubs at great prices. As someone who goes a lot, you're in for a treat. It's a BYOB with a liquor store next door to it. Minimum food cost per person is extremely reasonable so make sure to tip your staff. Hecklers are taken care of quickly so your show isn't interrupted. Seating is spread out great so you're never far from the stage and a lot of times the comedians hang out after to meet the fans (an added bonus). It's an awesome night out for locals or visitors to the jersey shore. I've never seen a disappointing show. read more
