POINT PLEASANT BEACH: visiting The Ark Pub and Eatery is one of the best dining experiences we ever had. Fantastic service, food, and we love their space. They have great people and management who really care about the customer experience. The Ark puts an emphasis on local and work with family run NJ businesses to provide the freshest ingredients. They offer a farm to table menu with seafood, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and more! A great cocktail list, full bar, and over 100 beer offerings including from NJ breweries. They also offer lunch specials seven days a week! Leashed and friendly dogs are allowed at the back outdoor patio that has a Key West vibe and fully covered on top by a tent. They are also allowed inside with a beautiful pub/tavern feel with woodwork and dim lighting. Olivia was our awesome server and was attentive, friendly, and gave Brie lots of love. There are TVs to watch the game, events throughout the week, and if you bring your own freshly caught fish, they will cook it for you!

I had the blaclened cod I believe and it came with beans and rice. My LO had the Mac and cheese and my other elder one had the chicken tenders with fries. His was great, my LO liked their M&C, and my beaux had the cheese burger at the top of the list. Kind of a dive bar feel and the staff was very friendly. The bathroom was also very clean. My LO asked why there was so many carvings on the walls and furniture and I let her know pirates frequented that place and that's their fault.

Fried Calamari! Fresh and done right. Breading stayed on and not chewy!.

I always wanted to eat here and I can now say it was a worth the trip. We had the fried Calamari, crab cake, fish and chips and the deluxe burger. All were good!! The Fried Calamari was fresh , not chewy, and the Breading stayed on as you bite in. Service was good as well.

Do try the Port Wine Cheddar Cheese Burger here. It was featured on a list of top burgers in NJ and wow it was packed with flavor! I would have to agree, this is probably the best burger I've had with its unique port wine cheese, bbq sauce, and amazing caramelized onions. It's the first burger I've ever had that didn't need ketchup added. Our waitress went above and beyond being attentive and thoughtful. She immediately closed the blinds when she saw me put my hand up to block the sun that bounced off of a car in the parking lot, and overheard us talking about sharing two burgers, so she had the chef cut the burger in half for us! Only reason for a 4 star is the dive bar atmosphere and over cooked bacon, but the food and service is outstanding so don't pass it by.

Came into (onto?) the ark to get out of the rain. It's a really interesting looking restaurant, with a lot of carving in the wood furniture and tables. They had a great selection of beers on tap, and the food was good. One of my brothers got the walnut crusted salmon, and we where surprised just how big a serving it was. Our server was friendly and attentive. There where other staff members coming through who helped clear the table as needed.

The art pub is a vibe. It's got that lived in look and a trendy beer menu as well as really good food. This is like a comfortable old soul in a neighborhood that should never go away. We had a variety of things there and tried several apps as well as entrées each. we were a party of four. The tuna bites are a must have. They were excellent the tuna Tataki appetizer was also excellent. I had a shrimp scampi over angel hair. It was very good. Several different items were tried by all in a party, and everyone was very satisfied portions are very accommodating, so be careful not to over order the service was friendly and quick.

First time here. Cozy inside. Lots of character. Attentive staff and excellent service. Big pour for my glass of wine. I had the manhattan clam chowder. Lots of the good stuff-clams, potatoes and onions in a nice tomato clam broth. I also had the lobster Mac and cheese sliders. Two sliders, side of slaw and fries. Very tasty. My partner had a patty melt. Excellent beef, sautéed onions and perfect rye bread. We'll definitely be back this summer!

They confirmed twice that we wanted veggies and this is how the burger came

Hands down the best tuna bites at the jersey shore. It was a little loud as they were doing trivia but everyone was having a ball.

Reliably good pub. Food is good if you order fish specials. Low key and always packed. This is a shore staple. No reason not to go.

Bruschetta burrata -- abundant and the burrata was soo fresh. Baked Mac and cheese with lobster -- the creamiest mac and cheese and big chunks of meaty lobster. Scarpiello wings -- sticky and savory perfection. Could've made a made off this alone! Entrees: Pan seared scallops with polenta -- the scallops were nice and tender and seared very nicely. Linguine & clams with red sauce -- very generous with the clams and the sauce was flavored very well. Cheesesteak -- tender, juicy, huge portion and served on amazing bread. Deliciously cut fries too. Drinks: Berry loca margarita -- not even a big marg person and I loved this. Spring fling sangria -- my friend downed hers! Dessert: Chocolate lava cake -- oozing with chocolate. Sooo delicious. Can't skip this! Service was awesome -- our waiters were so friendly and helpful. I like the cozy and rustic vibes of the restaurant, makes it a welcoming spot. Definitely will be back.

I've always heard good things, and I thought the food stood up to the reputation. The restaurant was packed on a Monday night, which was probably a good sign for what led to a delicious meal. I really enjoyed the roasted oysters topped with yummy breadcrumbs. My daughter enjoyed a sushi appetizer and wedge salad with blackened tuna that she claimed was delicious as well. Our other dinner partner enjoyed his halibut. I really loved the show-stopping, gigantic jumbo lump crab meat risotto. It was very filling, but super delicious. The food was rich and, in some ways, basic, but executed perfectly. I added some of the street corn and that really made things even better get this dish. You won't be disappointed. The atmosphere was busy, if not hectic. Our table was in the middle of the room, next to a large family with little kids. One was seven months old and the other was two. That seemed like a bit much for a dinner with these price points. It's not an inexpensive restaurant and certainly not a family-vibe Houlihan's. We had mixed feelings about the atmosphere, but I kind of thought it was cool--a really pretty building with some rustic charm.

If you want business and your staff to work - I'm sad to say they turned down a nice group of 30-50 year olds ON A MONDAY (which is huge for us). Lackluster. Lazy. Underwhelming. We went out to eat twice while there, once for dinner and once for lunch. I will review both places using this as my intro to the reviews. For lunch on August 5, 2026 we ate at Charlie's of Bay Head. We were 4 adults and a toddler. I was surprised the ratings I saw were basically average, in the high 3's. That was not our experience. Considering my daughter had tried unsuccessfully to book a dinner reservation, which she said was true for their entire stay at the beach, was why we ended up here for lunch, and should tell you it is more popular than a mediocre location. This is a pricier spot than my other review of last night's dinner at the Wharfside, but the menu and ambiance support it. Like the night before there were cocktails and wines with lunch, though less so than we'd have had if it were dinner. The wine list and cocktail offerings were more than just decent, though not extensive. Being lunch and not dinner, the selections were lighter than a dinner would have been. There were several sandwiches from steak, to chicken, to crab cakes, and lobster rolls. Our toddler ate off the children's menu and enjoyed the mac and cheese. We also had several appetizers, including calamari, the steak egg rolls, which seemed more like a burrito than an egg roll, and king crab, which, while delicious, was not worth the money at $165/pound. It is a lovely location with waterside dining, but service was slow and why we skipped out on dessert. For those challenged by the stairs at the entrance, there is an elevator that can be accessed to bring strollers and those with handicaps up to the restaurant. This was definitely a 4, maybe a 5, but not anything lower. At least that was our experience

We definitely got the impression they weren't happy having our larger group at the bar, even though it was still early and several of us were ordering drinks. Thankfully, once we were seated, the experience was completely different. Our waiter was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and great with our large group--and the food was very good.
