The vacuum area is stuck in a tight spot behind the car wash, and cars entering the car wash have no clear way past the cars in the vacuum area. The funnel system into the car wash itself is the worst - there is no way to sort out which car from the two entrance lanes should go first. Why have two entrance lanes for one car wash lane? It is annoying and dangerous every time. I have seen cars get into fender venders in the car wash itself, which should be impossible. They try to cram cars through so fast they cause accidents. And, of course, they blame the customers. There are other car washes nearby. Use one of them. Avoid this place.

Hoffman completely rebuilt the old Raindancer car wash into a state of the art new facility which…read moreopened in late 2025. Unfortunately, they no longer have the self service bays, but now offer free vacuums which is a big plus. When they opened the new facility, they were giving away free car washes for a couple of days and had some special on their Unlimited Car Wash Plan which included additional free car washes after the plan expired. I signed up for the plan, the attendant put a bar code on my windshield and I used the car wash during the winter. Overall, the car wash did an excellent job when first opened. And when first opened a lot of colored lights would begin flashing as the vehicle passed through the various stages of the wash. The final time I used the car wash fewer lights were flashing and for the first time an attendant used a hose to spray down the front of my car. It's uncertain whether the car wash was now providing all the features included in the paid for plan. There are two lanes vehicles use which scan plan bar codes which then merge into one lane while making a sharp left hand turn to enter the wash. Twice I almost got into an accident because a vehicle couldn't make the turn and had to backup as the lanes merged causing a near miss. The exit from the car wash is tricky and causes confusion. There is a yellow light and a small sign which states to wait for the green light. The yellow light may be on or off and green light seems to go on at random times. While waiting for the green light the vehicle may not be moving forward because the plastic track which propels the vehicle is now only on the rear wheels and can begin to slip. Many times I had to drive away and not wait for the green light. Finally, the vacuums work well.

They did a good job on the floor mats, but the rest of the vehicle was underwhelming. The interior and exterior just didn't look like they had received the level of attention I expected. There were still areas that looked untouched, and overall the car didn't have that "freshly cleaned" appearance. I've definitely received better results for less money at other car washes. If you're coming here, I'd recommend sticking with the basic exterior wash. In my experience, paying extra for the interior cleaning and other add-ons just wasn't worth the cost. This version is firm but measured, which tends to come across as more trustworthy in reviews.

While going through the car wash, the factory hood trim piece on my one-year-old vehicle blew off. I immediately reported the incident to the attendant and filed a claim. A location manager, Dom, informed me that the damage was not covered, but offered me two months of free car washes. While I appreciated the gesture, it did not address the damage to my vehicle. I then asked to speak with the regional manager. I was told that Shawn, the regional manager, was unable to call me and that I would have to contact him myself. When we finally spoke, he told me there was nothing Hoffman could do other than suggest I file a claim with my own insurance company. What was most concerning was that he also suggested I could tell General Motors that the part had blown off in the wind and attempt to have it covered under my vehicle's warranty. I was uncomfortable with that suggestion, as it would not have been an accurate representation of what happened. I understand things can happen. What I was looking from Hoffman was accountability, professionalism, and customer service from a company I've supported for years. Instead, I felt dismissed, and that the situation should have been handled in a different way. Rather than trying to make good on a bad situation they lost me as a customer, multiple members of my family and friends and now have no to deal with negative press such as this post. I hope Hoffman Car Wash takes customer concerns more seriously in the future and reevaluates how situations like this are handled. Long-time customers deserve better.

The interior clean was satisfactory but took longer than in the past. Is it challenging to get workers or is the company unwilling to hire more? Probably the former. The exterior clean is not as good here in CP as it is at the Hoffman on Troy Schenectady Road since it is a newer location. Also, the course and length of wash time are longer on Troy-Sch Road.

They have outside vacuums, self-service bays, and three automated touch-free bays. Charges are $8 for basic, $10 for the 'deluxe' and $12 for the 'you don't really need that' wash. Downers are to get undercarriage washing (really the main reason you need to wash the car during salt/snow season) you have to get the $10 or $12, and like a lot of automated car washes, they're now charging extra for credit card customers now that they can, under the ruse of 'charging state sales tax' (which they have to pay on cash orders, too) but it's really because they are now allowed to chargeback customers for the credit card fees they pay but they're not honest enough to say that. For that I give them a little stink eye. That said, I thought the car wash wasn't that great. The undercarriage was not very long or with a lot of pressure, and the automated touch free system left gunk on my windows I had to spritz off afterwards, and the automated dryer was very tepid and underpowered. For the same prices I've had better automated car washes so probably won't be back unless it's a matter of convenience (as it was today).
