Communication from the league officials is extremely poor. After applying for a league as a free agent weeks ago at the start of registration, was emailed by Corissa two weeks before the league start date that they were in the process of assigning teams, no guarantees but we'd hear back from them "in the next few days" The league starts in less than two days and no follow up, no communication at all. On their website at this moment they are still offering people to sign up for the league saying it's open (see screenshot). These people have wasted my time. There are better, less expensive and more professionally run leagues out there to join. I suggest looking elsewhere. read more

These folks do corporate events, and I hired them to make a trivia night for my global team. I worked with them on what we wanted, what our team does, and the prizes. They showed up to the venue early. They had 3 staff members on hand. They gave people wristbands when they arrived to make teams. We made sure the exec leaders were spread out on the teams. Part of the package included photos of each team and everyone together. Their MC was awesome. They ran the trivia game very well. Price was amazing. I would hire them again, no hesitation. read more

We signed up to play mid-core volleyball for early fall. The pricing is insane -- $700 for 8 people to play volleyball for ONE HOUR a week! Meanwhile, other indoor courts charge less than $10 for several hour sessions elsewhere. The courts are fine and the workers are nice enough but the pricing is absolutely criminal. There's also very minimal enforcing done by the program. If your opponents don't show up you don't get to play and you still have to pay. I regret spending money here. read more

I've participated in many Underdog sports including: Bowling, Putt Putt, Softball, and Kickball. There's quite a few others; volleyball, football.. you get the idea. They're good people and they run a good show, decently priced, and you get a cool T-shirt too! Pros: The bowling league is a heck of a lot of fun, lots of chances to win booze, softball league is great too- pretty competitive if you like that sort of thiing. I played on a kickball team organized and refereed by Underdog a couple years ago. We were playing a team that likely peaked in high school, because they were overly aggressive and not too interested in sportsmanship. Toward the end of the game, I slid into third on a forced base run and was called safe. A couple seconds after that call, as I was getting up, the catcher from the other team collided with the side of my head pretty hard. Felt like it must've been a knee to the head or a foot. Hard to say. Because I was running on adrenaline, I didn't make a big deal of that at the time. I knew it was a hard hit, but I didn't realize I would end up with a TBI and be out for a month, with post-concussive effects that continued another year. You might be wondering - what was the umpire doing? Didn't say boo. Most of my team saw that the catcher was reckless, yet the Underdog referee didn't do anything at all. Must have been watching butterflies near home base or something. Long story short, I do not trust the officials of any of these games to actually do their job and protect the players from clumsily aggro blufflefarts like the guy who decided coed kickball was the new WWE. I did try to follow up with Underdog, but did not receive much of a response. Anyone who plays in these games should know - you're playing at your own risk, and you probably won't have anyone to back you up from Underdog if you run into a circumstance like this. We all know that we sign a waiver, but there is an obligation for an organization to actually train their staff to pay attention and make the right calls. I busted my dodgeball cherry with Underdog Sports last night! Ok, that's not entirely true... but it has probably been at least 25 years since I last played it. Jebus, that makes me feel old. Underdog Sports is fantastic. They have leagues for a variety of games and ability levels. Want to play some hardcore softball or soccer? They've got you covered. Want to play a casual game of dodgeball or kickball? No problem. Haven't played in over two decades? Don't sweat it--they'll explain the rules and after a few minutes you'll get the hang of it. Join as an independent (and get thrown together with other random people) or form your own team. The fees are very reasonable, you get a team shirt and several nights of fun childhood regression. After the games head to the sponsoring bar with your teammates for some food and beer. The bar usually has a discount of some sort for Underdog players. I enjoy playing volleyball and Underdog's schedule just happens to fit our needs the best so we keep coming back, however it that weren't the case then we'd probably find another company to go with. Despite signing up and paying 3-4 months in advance of the season, they somehow still never have our shirts ready on the first day. They either give us too few shirts, shirts that are the wrong size or the wrong colors. They always tell us that we'll get our "real" shirts at the next game because they ran out. You have the shirt orders 3 months in advance, how is it possible to run out? Also there have been several games where we've shown up to a locked gym and no underdog representative present. One time we called and the person said she "forgot" about the games and arrived 30 min late, then proceeded to tell us we needed to be warmed up and ready to go in 2 minutes because we needed to keep the games on schedule. It happened to be a big Seahawks game day and the game had just ended right when we were supposed to start so I suspect she finished watching the game before coming to work. Another day, underdog scheduled a game during he high schools spring break so no one was there to unlock the gym for us and we all had to go home They also make you pay $50 for any schedule requests even if you make them before the schedule comes out and even then your request isn't guaranteed to be granted. That's ridiculous. You should be able to ask for a certain game time without having to pay even more money on top of the registration fee. We had a day where we knew we couldn't play the 6pm time slot but Not wanting to pay more money, we risked it and just hoped we'd get another time. We got scheduled at 6pm and had to forfeit and the other team also didn't get to play read more

Some people get so crazy about winning dodge ball, it amazes. Since I am used to being the "underdog" in sports (excepts for air hockey) most of the time, I was prepared for people playing in the Underdog Sports League to be along the same lines as me. Not so!. People who look like they may have sucked in grade school have apparently come back in an attempt to rule the court one last time. They fat kid in blue was expecially harsh one game. Cheap shot, in the face. Not cool! Other than the occasional tooth getting knocked out., the league is awesome. I am in bowling now, which is too fun to put into words. I'm perfecting my swing with the new "celli" move we worked on yesterday. It involves rolling the ball then lifting your hand up to your face like you're making a phone call. It works! read more

We joined the dodgeball league this spring... we had so much fun! It's amazing how competitive it got. We didn't do that great at first, but then we realized we were much better if we went to the bar before hand! After that we ended up finishing 3rd in the softcore playoffs! What a wonderful invention! Here is why I like underdog so much: -It enhances my community by bringing together different people in fun, active ways. I've met some really nice people in Seattle through Underdog! -You get to come up with a cool team name! -Work teams are great for team building and pretty cheap for companies to sponsor. (It's $660 for a team of 11 people to play kickball once a week). -Keeps me active in a fun way- Gets me out of the gym into the beautiful parks in Seattle. -Lots of park locations to choose from (I like Denny Park and Cascade Playfield). I have personally organized kickball teams for 3 seasons at two different fields. The umps are fun and fair, and for the most part the opposing teams have been fun and friendly. I just played in my first "mid-core" kickball league game yesterday, and although we lost we all had a great time. The league seems to be well organized, with a website for checking your game schedule and everything. The umps were very good and kept the game moving. I'm told the division into "mid core" and "hard core" is fairly new, and I think a great idea - as if your like me and play to get outside and have fun more so than win at any cost - mid core is the way to go. It's still competitive and fun, but there's less dumb jock tendencies. Prices are ok, but truth be told I'd rather pay less and not get a t-shirt. If you're super serious and don't want to play with non-athletes, you may want to look for other reviews, as I'm not sure how hard core the hard core division is. If you're just looking to have fun, be silly, and not care if you or your teammates throw to the wrong base from time to time, or slip and fall down for no apparent reason, mid-core is the way to go. read more

I'm super thankful there are leagues like this out in Seattle, gets the competitive juices flowing and you meet a lot of great people with similar interests. But I have to say: the flag football officiating crew down at memorial park is absolute garbage. Did they receive any training whatsoever or were they just handed stripe shirts and yellow flags and wished the best of luck? Every week, they control the outcome of the game. Yesterday, we were flagged for pulling the other teams flags off. It was laughable. They claimed it was "obstruction of the flag". I'm sorry but what are we suppose to do?? Just let them run by us without making an attempt? At least be consistent. Just let us play! They got some power hungry fools out there. I know they probably get paid bare minimum but damn they know how to ruin a good time. read more

I've been an avid underdog-er over the past 5 years participating in volleyball, flag football, kickball, dodgeball, putt putt, bowling, and softball. It's a great way to get out there with your friends and to bring you back to the good ole days. The only negatives are that there are a few ultra-competitive guys and gals who enjoy playing in even the lowest competition of leagues. Not sure if they were picked on in elementary school, and are now getting their revenge, but it can get a little annoying when you are just out to have a good time. While I agree that sometimes there are a few SUPER competitive teams/players that slip through the cracks, I have had the BEST experience with Underdog! I started out subbing on friends teams and worked my way up to running my own, and it's be so much fun! The league is definitely the most laid-back league around and their staff is amazing, too! (Especially Eliza who let me fire question after question about EVERYTHING I could possibly think of about the league today!) The umps will do their best to keep the good sportsmanship going. It really is a great way to go out and have fun, and definitely to meet new people!! Underdog will organize the league games and times but nothing more. They advertise as a recreational league with no experience needed and accepting of all genders but will do nothing to enforce this. The "captain" of our team only wanted me to play catcher or sit the bench and via text said it's because all other positions are dangerous and I should talk to my boyfriend about it. I spoke with Underdog and they contacted the individual, they called me back. Apparently he told Underdog that I had to "prove" myself and that he was misogynistic, but ultimately Underdog would do nothing but refund me my league fees. The manager was very nice and I might consider playing with Underdog in the future but I will ALWAYS think twice. If you join as a full team, you will probably be fine but watch out for individuals. Females beware, you may be used as a token female to fill the gender requirement and Underdog won't do anything about it. read more

Our corporate team paid $875 for kickball and only two player shirts with no explanation. Even after I inquired with the league about the missing shirts multiple times, I did not receive a response. Adding to the frustration was the lack of a weekly schedule for our first two games. As a corporate team, it is necessary to be made aware of the schedule in advance to ensure there are enough players. Again, I contacted Underdog regarding this concern, but have not received a reply. For the very high cost of participating in their sports, it's reasonable to expect everything the fee includes on time. Although the referees on game day have been great, the overall management of the company in Seattle seems to be lacking in professionalism. I will definitely not organize another team with Underdog-Seattle next year. read more

I've been playing underdog sports for several years now - four/five years ago I would have given it five stars. But no longer - the cost is getting out of hand! At first they increased the prices, then the seasons were decreased from 8 games to 6. But now they've decreased the season to 5 games. The thing that upsets me most - I signed up the first day this last Bocce season opened when it was advertised as 6 games. Sometime between then and now, they updated the season to only be 5 games without any notification. Awful. read more

I've been a part of the volleyball league last Fall at Seattle Central Community College and played two seasons there before becoming a part of the beach volleyball league at Alki. It's really cool to play sports for this league and to work for an employer that pays our registration costs. For the most part things are flexible and still pretty well organized. ya! a beer league in seattle! I first found out about this place when I ran into someone at the gym with a champ shirt. I knew right then and there that I wanted to be a underdog champ too! I've only signed up for softball, but its been a blast. This past season I was a captain, it was a good experience and tons of fun. If you are an "Indy" player, meaning you aren't signing up for a league with a team, it is really hit or miss. One of the teams I am on is pretty cool, the other is run by a jerk. Underdog will try to get you on another team, but many times that means playing on the Eastside or playing in a less desirable location. read more

Underdog carries many different sports. I have experience playing flag football in a co-ed league and had a blast! The staff are very fair, knowledgeable and also get excited to watch the players perform out on the field. The teams we played against are not only competitive but have great attitude. It doesn't matter whether you're athletic or not, just grab a couple friends to have fun! Good luck getting in without a team. Three attempts later, always told it's "full" a few days before the seasons starts.

This is a great league if you are new to town and want to get to know some people, just know that it is fairly entry level for some sports (I play volleyball mostly and have done kickball and softball). Lately I've been of the opinion that the league has really gone downhill. I am giving it two stars for three reasons: 1) the administrator that manages volleyball the night we play at Seattle Central is a real hag. She is rude and plays music loudly to where you cannot hear people calling out the score. 2) they mandated about 3 seasons ago that you HAVE to receive t-shirts for every 8 week season. They are poor quality and nobody wants to have a ton of the same junk shirts. This is clearly a money grab so they can charge an extra fifteen bucks per season. 3) the gym I play at now is so short on volleyballs there are not enough for even two per team to practice with. This is unacceptable for a league that charges almost half a grand per six person roster per 8 week season. Update your gear. read more
