This place is the best. Handmade treats of all kinds- ice cream sandwiches, ice cream and sorbet, cookies, bubble tea, and various other items they come out with. Cool pop culture references. They have a food truck too. Its more costly than the average ice cream stop, but it's absolutely worth it imo for the handcrafted treats. You will impress anyone by getting some of these!!

This is a fun place. walking in I felt like it was 1980s Lisa Frank meets skater punk. There are a few tables and fun stickers and colorful pop culture references everywhere. The menu is pretty basic. Fresh cookies available in the display and their premade ice cream sandwich menu on the wall. We chose the Elliot and the Lucha libre. Of the two the Elliott was our favorite because hello chocolate and peanut butter are always a winning combination. The Lucha libre was good but really just tasted like cinnamon. Cinnamon cookie cinnamon ice cream cinnamon cinnamon. I wish there had been a little contrast of flavor or texture as the ice cream was soft and the cookies were soft. Steeply priced at five dollars each not sure we would go again as we can spend $10 on ice cream and get a whole lot more bang for our buck elsewhere but it is fun to visit.

Great place. Cookies were awesome, service was great, music was great (a little Tupac and then Kriss Kross). The decor was very cool as well. I would highly recommend coming here. They have some great cookie/ice cream combinations. You will not be sorry.

This place was named best dessert in GR and although this ice cream sandwich was great it did not take top spot in my opinion. The inside gives off a comic book vibe with strange decor but interesting and different. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about their products too. This is just a super odd location, they would do better business in the city.

I don't feel great about writing this review, but I'm an honest reviewer. I live in NC and have been following Underground Cookie Club on instagram since they opened. As I visit Grand Rapids at least once a year, I was looking forward to trying this place for months. I will say that UCC is decorated super cool and has a really fun vibe. I love their colorful food menu on the wall and it feels very playful in here. After making the hard decision of what ice cream sandwich to buy, I ended up ordering the Cheer bear and my friends split the chubby unicorn. The ice cream sandwich was pretty tasty but really wasn't as flavorful as it should've been. It was yummy but nothing to write home about. My friends felt the same way about theirs. The best thing about them is that the ice cream sandwiches are super awesome looking and very Instagram-worthy! My biggest issue about this place is that from the instant that I walked into their doors, I felt unwelcome. As you enter, they have a sign warning about kids being on their best behaviors or getting out. I can't remember the wording and although I don't have children, it sounded really rude and unwelcoming. As my local friends and I walked in with big smiles, super excited about giving this place a try, the two employees working did not greet us or smile at us. They actually seemed annoyed that we were even there. The three of us looked at their menu, reading all of the details and getting pumped to try something new. We asked the employees a few questions about ingredients, how long they've been open, the most popular options, etc. They answered with one word answers, no smiles and just seeming mad at us for interrupting them or something. It was a huge turn off. I'm all about opening an awesome new joint with creative, colorful ice cream sandwiches, but customer service is huge!

Worth the visit! Super yummy ice cream sandwiches. It was nice to reminisce with the memorabilia of old times. Worker was really nice and helpful!

I had seen photos of UCC's ice cream cookie sandwiches all over social media, so I was excited to finally try them at a couple of food truck events recently. Their brick and mortar location isn't super convenient for me, so it's awesome that they have a mobile location too! The menu is really fun with pop culture references abound, and the interior of their truck was completely covered in stickers. I get the feeling that it has a similar vibe to their storefront location. On our first try, my boyfriend and I got the cherry quinn to split, which has black cherry ice cream, chocolate cherry cookie, and brownie. It was decorated with some cute harlequin diamonds. The cookie and brownie were both soft and chewy, and softened up as it thawed out a bit. The ice cream had a good black cherry flavor. I loved the consistency of the sandwich as it warmed up a bit. Straight from the freezer it was a little hard. The second time we got the chubby unicorn, which is super Instagram-worthy with rainbow marbled sugar cookie, sprinkles, colorful Superman ice cream, and Fruity Pebbles on the outside! This one was fun to look at but the flavor was kind of bland, mostly just a lot of sugar cookie flavor. The flavors of the cherry quinn are definitely more prominent with the chocolate and cherry. I wouldn't get the chubby unicorn again but there are more flavors I'm interested in trying! I don't think $5 was too much for these treats as they do seem homemade and they're good for the two of us to split after dinner. I am looking forward to checking out their brick and mortar store some time this summer!

Upon waking in to the Underground Cookie Club, a small familiar rush of nostalgia greeted my anticipation for the ice cream cookie sandwich as my party and I noticed the lovely charm of the comic-book-store-esque ambiance mixed with 80's pop-retro style video game-styled logos on their delectable variety of ice cream sandwiches. I absolutely loved this paired with all the creative names and flavors for the sandwiches; which is by far the star option! The UCC also features housemade cookies, popsicles and ice creams. There are vegan options and gluten-free options for those with allergies and sensitivities like myself, which I am GREATLY appreciative of. I had a pleasant experience, and I can't wait to return. I ordered the Gluten Freedom - a classic chocolate chip ice cream cookie sandwich with a twist: filled with cocoa ice cream! My love ordered The Tapper - a root-beer float flavored ice cream with a buttery sugar cookie and icing topped cookie!

I have been to this business about a half dozen times now. I love the cookies and the ice cream sandwiches. Many flavors to choose from and the highest quality and flavors. You can also get sauces on it or to go, like Carmel. Try getting your sandwich rolled in your favorite coating or cereal.

The customer service was great and the ice cream cookie sandwich was even better! The atmosphere is also amazing and a 90s kid's dream!

We weren't starving so we decided to split their breakfast burrito and subbed out the meat for chorizo (which is a menu suggestion). Dear mother this place is good. Even with a decent line, it came out quickly and excellently constructed. The burrito was grilled shut and wrapped tight. The ratios of sauce, egg avocado goodness and meat were spot on. It also came with a green sauce that was very chimichurri like. It gave it this great kick of freshness that took it over the top for the both of us. We also appreciated the bottles of hot sauce offered next to the napkin station. Keep an eye on their facebook for upcoming locations since they move around. Last but not least, they do in fact have several vegetarian options if you are not about that meat life.

The team is organized, quick and very nice! Note they do sell out fast but as to be expected they have amazing food! The portion sizes are HUGE! We split the fries between a family of four (two small children, two adults) and it was perfect! There fried pickles are no joke! They are spears and you get a bunch! They also have the best sweet potatoe fries! Very crispy and seasoned well. And the main event was the smash burgers! They were still pretty thick but packed so much flavor! The patty had a nice crispy edge and those caramelized onions were amazing with the American cheese! We also had a crispy chicken sandwich what made it was the avocado spread because overall the patty was a little bland. Maybe a spicy option would be an idea! We also tried the onion rings and those were great too! Things to note for consumers: they offer ketchup packets maybe like 2 or 3 per order (we had a lot of fried food so it didn't seem enough for all we got plus we had 4 people sharing these). Because we had a ton I would have loved a ketchup pump or at least a ton more packets. As far as dipping sauces, they have an array of flavors but they charge for each one. That adds up quickly. Maybe the first one free with your sides? Sides are called "beach bites" and they are $8 each. Well priced and hefty on portions! We saw people getting the chicken bites and let me tell you those plates were literally stacked! And they looked super crispy! Burgers and sandwiches range from $10-16 depending on what you get. Lots of great options! The line was LONG!!! But they give you a beeper with a number on it once you place and pay for your order. That helps keep people from piling up in front of the window. What a great idea! The vibe of this food truck is definitely that fun beachy feel. I would recommend this food truck over and over again!

I'm not a huge sweets person, but I like a good soft cookie. No crispy cookies for me - and Daddy's Dough Cookies totally delivered. The cookies we had in the picnic basket were lemon cream pie which consist of two delightfully chewy and soft lemon cookies with lemon buttercream frosting sandwiched inside. The lemon flavor was so bright and summery, and the sweetness level was just right - not too sweet. My boyfriend and I both commented about how good they were, and I immediately looked to see where I could get more. Luckily enough they sell these goodies at Bridge Street Market, Fresh Thyme, and Horrocks here locally. They also sell them online so I bought two of EVERY FLAVOR. Then we happened to find them at one of the last days of the Urban City Cafe and got the birthday cake flavor. Guess what, amazingly good. The cookies are so interesting, they seem like they are an oatmeal type cookie somehow and the texture is just so, so good. I hope they can continue to grow and get into other stores locally. We certainly have been talking them up! If you like a good soft sandwich cookie situation, definitely check out Daddy's Dough. They also have non-sandwich cookie options, cookie making kits, and vegan options online.
