1st Goal achieved lost 30lbs in 3 months!! Working on my next goal..more to come!!
    Stef-ah-knee S.

Gil is professional, knowledgeable, kind, and encouraging. He is exceptional at customizing personal training programs that help drive results that last! Gil has helped me reach multiple goals by strategically planning workouts, strength training, discipline and consistency. He has been very helpful with explaining nutrition and forming a meal plan to support my body's needs based on our workouts. In the first 3 months I lost 30lbs, gained muscle and flexibility. I can't wait to see what's next.

~140 to 132 or so. Clothes fit better!

Gil is an awesome personal trainer, and an all-around great person as well! I highly recommend working with him. I started weekly 1:1 sessions in April 2023, and since then I've lost ~14Ibs while also building muscle and improving strength. I wanted to make sustainable changes to my lifestyle to achieve my goals, and Gil was great about helping me find the right way to do that with my workouts and nutrition. Working out consistently and making good food choices (for the most part) has also made me feel better, have more energy, better sleep, increased my productivity, and I'm more comfortable and in tune with my body. Gil's helped me improve strength significantly - I've seen my deadlift, squat, hip thrust, dumbbell bench press, pull down, etc. numbers increase over the last couple months despite being in a cut. I can even do two chin ups now (working up to 5) when I couldn't dream of doing one before! His adjustments to my form and technique have been super helpful as well. Also, a few times I had slight strains from overdoing activity on my own, and Gil was really good about training me around those and knew all of the right movements to help with healing and recovery. I've been enjoying my journey with fitness and health over the last year, and I really appreciate all of Gil's help to keep me on track and build good habits I can hold onto for life. If you're considering a personal trainer to help you achieve your health and fitness goals, you won't find a better trainer than Gil!

    3 month transformation.

Amber helped me get all of that--and more! After about a year of working with her, my body no longer aches (I had "bad" knees from martial arts), I have more mobility, I can do proper push ups, I'm gradually lifting heavier weights, I feel more settled in my body, and I look and feel stronger! It's easier to move through life, physically and mentally. I've seen Amber move from a shared gym to a small private gym to the current larger gym, and it's no surprise her client and coach list is growing. She's fantastic. Bri is a delight to work with as well! If you're looking for a safe space to start training or pick it up after time off, I strongly recommend checking out Divergent Fitness!

By serving only women, they've created a safe place where one can walk in feeling welcome instead of self-conscious. I am new to strength training but Coach Amber and Coach Bri immediately made me feel comfortable and safe as they taught me proper form for each move - using simple and clear directions. They know their stuff and their goal is to empower you to do this on your own. I have such an engaging time that the hour-long session feels like ten minutes! Who knew strength training could be so fun? They are thorough - from warm-ups to strength training to gentle stretching. They keep logs of your workouts and enable you to add the workouts you've done at home. They adapt to any injuries or sensitive areas to make sure you can still show up without hurting yourself. They understand anatomy and protect you during training with their vast knowledge of muscle groups and how everything works. They both show incredible kindness and encouragement that lifts my spirits every time I see them. As a 52-year old woman in late perimenopause, my goals are focused on protecting muscle and guarding against osteoporosis. I want to age with mobility - hiking up hills and lifting my own luggage when I travel. I am learning moves like trap bar deadlifts, Romanian deadlifts, squats, bench rows, and other terms that once seemed so foreign to me. Now I feel more knowledgeable, more empowered, and more excited to embrace this as part of who I am! They make me feel like a badass!

I was in need of a gym and having a pool was one of the requirements so that limited the options in…read morethe area for me that wasn't a 20 minute+ drive way so I decided to check out Equinox first and ended up really liking the vibe. The classes feel like studio classes (like barre or spin, etc.) that you'd be paying almost $200/month for without any amenities or regular gym equipment. I've been to other gyms in the past that had a lot of hm, lets just call it people watching and social hour. Folks here are definitely here to workout, do their own thing and friendly. Definitely a no judgement zone. I also had some hesitations based on other reviews about not being able to freeze or cancel membership within the first year especially if you have an injury and what not but decided to go for it anyway despite that, more on that later. Some other other gyms didn't seem to be any better based on those reviews so it probably would've been similar issues elsewhere anyway. When you initial sign up, they give you some comp sessions with a trainer (to obviously sell you personal training) but it's something I wanted to try anyway. I thought, why not, let's give it a go for a few months since I thought it would be good to get an extra boost and back into a routine. Well, a few months had passed and then I had some travel plans so I was away from the gym but then came back from my travels with a severe knee injury where I could barely walk. It sucked but I showed up anyway. Not because I couldn't cancel my membership due to the contract terms but because I needed movement for rehab. I was initially hesitant about returning to training because I felt like I wouldn't be training at 100%. And let's be real, the training sessions aren't cheap. After some discussion with physical therapist for a rehab plan, I decided to return to training with Summer and it was honestly one of the best decisions I've made. Summer programed exercises for me to supplement my PT. She has been really awesome to work with, because my program needed a lot of re-working along the way to adapt to my rehab progress. She's also open to feedback and really great with listening to my input on things that I want to work on. While I am still ways away from being 100% recovered from my knee injury, I already feel like it's night and day compared to just a few months ago. So why only 4 stars? Well, only taking one off is quite generous despite some issues with their app, specifically for training and the so-so amenities in the locker room. The app isn't the best and there were some miscommunications with it that led to a lot of frustration but the training manager Matt was really nice and made it right. The other reason for taking off the star was the amenities which they finally changed to something that smells way better. The previous products didn't smell good and it seemed like the shampoo, body wash, and face cleanser seemed like it was all the same soap in the shower. Didn't feel like there is anything different between the stuff in the bottles. It wouldn't even upset me that there was just one multipurpose wash but the same soap in the different bottles is just confusing for me. Like what's the point? Anyway, good riddance with the old stuff. I haven't tried the new stuff yet aside from the lotion that smells heavenly. I haven't been to the other locations to compare but this one is sufficient for my needs.

I've been an Equinox member for over five years in Southern California and visit the San Ramon area…read moreonce or twice a year. This was, by far, the worst experience I've ever had at any Equinox location. After what I believed was a successful check-in, a staff member interrupted my workout by tapping me on the shoulder and asking me to stop by the front desk after I finished. About five minutes later, I was interrupted again--this time by two employees, including the manager, Lawrence Sanderson, who approached me in the middle of my workout and asked for my name. The issue wasn't whether there was a problem with my access. If I needed a day pass or didn't have access to this club under my membership, that could have been explained professionally and respectfully. Instead, I was treated as though I wasn't even an Equinox member. The interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational, abrupt, and unwelcoming. Had the situation been handled courteously, I would have happily paid for a day pass or resolved whatever issue existed. Instead, the manager's rude and abrasive approach left such a poor impression that I decided to leave. To make matters worse, the club was extremely crowded, with long waits for equipment and very few machines available. Between the overcrowding and the way I was treated, the experience was far below what I've come to expect from Equinox. After five years as a loyal member, I'm genuinely disappointed. I've always associated Equinox with exceptional customer service and hospitality, but this location delivered the exact opposite. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because no member should be made to feel unwelcome or embarrassed in the middle of a workout.

Lastly, all the attachments for the cables are gone. People have stolen them. Broken windows theory or something, but you can't even get a workout in these days - you have to really innovate... except the machines are also out of order, and the adjustable cable machines are also, out of order.
