Giving 1 star because they completed only about 30% of what I needed. I scheduled a service online and followed up by phone to ensure someone would come out to assess multiple items: sprinkler repair, aerator check, and septic pumping. Instead, they sent a driver with only a pumping truck, who didn't know about the other issues and could only pump the septic. For the sprinkler issue, I received a generic and overpriced quote (~$500) to install two new heads when I simply needed one reinstalled. Worse, I was told I'd have to accept that quote just to get a technician to diagnose the real problem. When I called to clarify, I was informed I'd need to pay $150 for a visit to assess the issue -- which is exactly what I thought I had already scheduled. To top it off, their truck damaged my driveway. I've attached a picture and will be sharing this experience on other platforms to help others avoid the same. Disappointing service overall. read more

To my surprise, Underwood Plumbing apologized for inferring that the problem I wrote about in my review was mine, that I refused to have a regulator put on the LP line to supply a new gas range we bought. They admitted that a regulator is a must, and not an option. Gas from a propane tank is under high pressure and not having a regulator can, with an ignition source, cause a fire or explosion. The Samsung range we purchased with it's safety valve and regulator shut things down so we thought there was a problem with the range, I appreciate Stephany Underwood who, at first, defended her company but then stepped up to accept responsibility and do the right thing. They did reimburse me the costs of having another company install a regulator. Integrity is the integration of what one believes, with what one says, with how one acts. In this instance, Underwood has acted with integrity whish is in there motto. read more

They get 2 Stars only because their septic team has always been good (started with them in 2016). Their plumbing side would only be 1 star and is always looking for an up sell and I would not recommend. They installed a water heater for me (not particularly cheap), and when they later asked how satisfied it was, I shared we were having issues with our heat in the MBR shower (which didn't exist before). In the spirit of wanting my "complete satisfaction" they wanted to send someone out. He spent a half hour playing with access to the shower handle cartridge using a variety of Allen wrenches, said it was stripped, had me try it, and then had me pay a $50 trip charge because it "wasn't related to the water heater." They were going to charge $600 for a shower cartridge, and then more when they said the access was "stripped" and they'd have to "cut it off." read more

Initially we were half way pleased with this company, now we are completely unsatisfied. We hired them to replace our sewer line and install a gas line. It took longer than expected and our backyard was tore up for a week. After they finished the sewer line they installed the gas line. The line failed inspection. They are now refusing to come finish the job and pressure test again after the other work that needed to be done to pass inspection was done. I cannot even get them to return our calls. We now need to find a new company to test our gas line so we can get it running and have a heater in these cold temperatures with our baby. Updated: after initiating a chargeback for not getting a call back for a week they came and fixed it. They now are harassing us to remove the ad and threatening to charge a bounce check fee. read more

Buyer beware - they will NOT locate water or drain lines on your property, and they will also leave you with giant holes and call it "settling." Just something to think about when choosing your septic installation company. I wish we had the same positive experience as the other reviewers on Facebook and Google. I've posted on those sites as well. If you're thinking of using Underwood Septic, please note: 1) you will need to hire a separate contractor to locate water/drain lines BEFORE Underwood digs; and 2) you will need to hire a dirt contractor AFTER the dig to fix the shoddy back-filling. Had the company simply informed us or stated in the contract we needed to locate our own water lines, we could have saved money/time by hiring our own locator or gone with another recommended septic installation outfit. The only response we could ever get from them was "anything on your property is your responsibility." Meanwhile, they had a locator for electric/cable. When clients are spending $10k+ for a septic install with Underwood and they don't locate ALL utilities as part of the job (they only locate electric/cable,) this is a problem. Our main water line was broken and had to be relocated and repaired at our expense. Could have totally been avoided and saved us $3500 had we be told beforehand to hire our own locator. To top it off, we even tried to hire Underwood's plumbing outfit to fix it, and Dusty (owner) stated, "we don't do plumbing in your area." They didn't want to fix the mess they had created. Buyers beware, these people will rope you in with a reasonable annual contract and then hammer you for everything else you do with them. Over the past few years they have recommended repairs almost every visit and fortunately I shopped the first repair and realized that they were trying to knock me over the head. Maybe it's because we live in an affluent community and they think they can get away with it but that's just not right. Tonight Stefanie blasted me on a text message because I was upset that I was quoted a number for service that my wife signed off on and then when the bill came it was 50% higher than the quote. Then I was lambasted for inquiring about then fact that I was overcharged because I "disrupted her dinner". Yes that's right, it's in quotes because that's what was said verbatim. I'm not complaining about the monthly service, I'm complaining about the CONSTANT overpriced recommendations and the response I received from Stefanie when I was upset that they charged me 50% more than the estimate. Bottom line...be careful as they are ALL about the upsell, that's where they make their money! For some reason I am quick to write a negative review and really slow to take the time to write up a positive experience. I think most people are like me to a certain degree, so when you find a place that gets positive reviews over and over again, that is a pattern worth noting. As for my experience, I have used Dusty Underwood Plumbing on a number of occasions. I had a leak fixed then I had an outside faucet installed, a tub installed, a toilet installed, and some pipes replaced under the house. Each experience was utterly and completely positive. The guys at Dusty Underwood Plumbing explained charges to me and never tried to sell me things I didn't need. We will never use this company again!!! They charge ridiculous fees for things like going under the house and for bringing another guy to help. Also they sit in their company car half the time vaping and on their cell phones. We were initially given a price then got the final invoice that was so much more. DO NOT EVEN CALL THIS COMPANY. UNPROFESSIONAL, QUOTE ACCEPTED THEN CALLED TO CHANGED FROM PLUMBING TO SEPTIC BUT WOULD NOT REFUND MY MONEY !!!! Dusty underwood came out to check on my plumbing/Septic system issue. I have a grey water septic that I did not know I had. The water from my washing machine is coming up through the ground. The first service I asked for was for a plumber (hoping it would be cheaper) to come out and check my system. This tech checked out my problem and suggested a pump to take the water from my washing machine to my regular septic. The quote was $7700 I had no choice but to take this option for a fix since they told me a new septic would be around $22,000. I gave them a down payment of $3400. The next day they called me and said the tech did not know what he was doing and it was a septic problem instead of a pumping. I asked for my money back and they asked if I would give them a chance. I did and a very condescending tech came out to look at the septic system problem and quoted me $22,000. I could not afford this option so I called and asked for my money back. They said it would take 30 days and could only do this by check. It was one day and a credit card payment and they could not reverse the charge. Will rip you off, here is how. Guys came they looked at the crawl space before starting the work and told me that it will cost $680 for them to find the gas leak. After an hour of work I was told: - that there are too many gas lines for them to test, so I will have to pay a $500 per hour for them to keep on testing. - Or I have another option, to replace all the gas lines for $4000. NOTE: Before starting the work, they looked at scope of work and knew exactly what they had to do, they saw all the gas lines that needed to be tested. They have not finished testing them and after they left I still didn't know what the issue was. It doesn't say anything in the contract about them testing only a certain amount of gas lines or time limit. I declined the payment and asked workers for their office to call us so we can understand what has happened. The next day our invoice went up from 680 to 748. When my husband talked to the the customer service, guy was extremely rude and was threatening to put a lien on the house. We tried to reason with them, because they did sent the crew in, but didn't finish the job. To shorten the story. Another company determined that we didn't have a leak. If I'd listened to Dusty Underwood we would have paid almost $5000 for a work that didn't need to be done. Their bottom line is more important than their customers, be aware. Again - no show and no communication. I don't think this company wants or needs my business. This is the only negative review I've EVER written. There was NO communication other than what I initiated. There was no apology. Perhaps, they are a good plumbing company. I'll never know. I will never use Dusty Underwood again. Purchased property back in 2020. When called in Oct of 2022 to discontinue service, they still called my husband by the original owners name. I signed up for their silver package which is more expensive but they keep up with the chlorine tabs and send pics of the system that was checked in a report. Problem is, the chlorine tabs (if ever filled) don't last more than a month and we have 4 months in-between inspections, something that Dusty does not want to let you know. Last time they came out the chlorine tabs were not filled, no pics were taken, and did not make any notes for the actual inspection. The only time I needed service was when my septic pipe backed up due to a tampon (had guests over). It took three visits and two managers (because it's plumbing's reasonability up to the tank and septic personnel will not work on plumbing, even if it's the main black water pipe to septic) to figure out the issue which was supposedly "tree root cracked the pipe". Quoted me $6K to replace a 5-foot pipe. Funny thing is the system has not backed since. When I called to cancel my service, instead of asking why we are leaving, I was informed "It's the American Dream to pick and choose what you want..." I honestly don't remember exactly what was said, but I do know they could have cared less for my business and keeping a customer. read more
