My experience was definitely unforgettable... but not in a good way. :( my fiance and i were really excited about potentially booking one of their dj's, pj, for our upcoming wedding. i gave them a call and whereas i'd had no problems with any vendors coming into manhattan to meet with us, they told us that they had a "no driving into manhattan without a contract" policy. i thought that was understandable, so made arrangements with my fiance to take the day off work on a tuesday to meet with the dj at our venue in clifton, nj. before the meeting, not knowing the etiquette, we asked the dj if we were expected to provide a meal. his reply was very curt and told us that "in 12+ years of dj-ing he'd never come across this question." yikes. we definitely didn't mean to offend and we apologized and assured him we'd be happy to pay for his meal. however, we scheduled another meeting with another dj just to have a back up. this dj was also in central jersey, came in to the city to meet with us, and gave us a great rate! my fiance and i were impressed but we had already gotten the time off work and the wedding wire reviews were so great that we decided we still wanted to meet with unforgettable djs. the meeting went very well! we thought pj had a lot of awesome, youthful energy. however, we wanted some time to think about it. my fiance and i debated and while the packaging price was better with the other dj, we thought that pj seemed like he'd bring more energy to the night. we e-mailed them explaining where we were in the decision-making process and asked if the price was negotiable. a few minutes later we received an e-mail that was essentially an e-mail RANT, accusing us of giving them "the bait and switch," listing all the trouble they'd gone through to meet with us. they also stated, "To offer my services for one dollar less is to de-value my services and I would never be able to do that." they also accused us of trying to steal their ideas ("I offered you input that you now will be able to use whether it's with me or any other DJ that you choose.") which seemed both paranoid and arrogant. i later called the owner of the company who apologized to me (hence the 2 star instead of 1). however, as a bride-to-be who is already stressed enough planning, having to tiptoe around one of my vendors is SO NOT WORTH IT. yes, maybe other people who used them loved them, but if you decide (or even LOOK like you're going to decide) to not go with them, watch out! an intimidating exchange at best, a demeaning one at worst. bring your business elsewhere. note: i was really surprised that wedding wire had ONLY glowing reviews about this place and looked up how the reviews worked. it seems that if there is a bad review, vendors can get that review pulled from the site. that's MESSED UP. secondly, i feel like a good chunk of the wedding wire reviews are fake because this place ALREADY has 1 filtered review posted. My wife and I were married just last week and had the pleasuring of working with Chris and his team at Unforgettable DJs for the big day. All around, everyone at Unforgettable DJs was a pleasure to work with. My wife and I went off book in a lot of ways, ignoring a lot of typical wedding tropes to try and make the event something to really represent us, and Chris was right there with us the entire time. He was great about setting up meetings to talk through our plans, and helped a great deal in taking the random collection of ideas we compiled, and fine tuning them into exactly what we were looking for. Chris is really knowledgable about the dynamics of a wedding how crowds respond, what they expect, what kinds of music works best in what scenarios, etc. This kind of expertise was invaluable in figuring out how we could make everything work. Chris even had some great ideas of his own that really helped bring everything together. He hooked us up with uplighting, which really added a nice touch to the venue (we got married in a huge art gallery). And we were even able to book an awesome Red Carpet Photo Booth for the guests, which everyone loved. During the wedding itself, Chris did a great job of setting a fun and welcoming atmosphere for our guests. He really connected with the crowd, and was very responsive to the mood of the room. A lot of the music we selected wasn't really common for a wedding, but Chris managed to put it together in such a way that people really responded to it. Overall, we put a lot on Chris and his team to dictate the flow of the evening, since we weren't doing a typical sit-down dinner, but they did an amazing job keeping everything on track, while still feeling spontaneous. Since the wedding we've gotten a lot of compliments on it, and had several people ask for Chris' contact information to pass along to people they know getting married (which I think says far more than this long sprawling review could). read more

I am a bride and working with Chris was one of the BEST experiences! Unforgettable DJ's were recommended through word of mouth. I had heard of another Dj and spoke to Chris over the phone. His personality was great, went over pricing with me over the phone and I asked for time to go over pricing with my fiancé. It was a couple of days before i got back to him (his prices were in our range-PLUS he also offered uplighting which I think is necessary to make the room). He was always courteous on the phone! No pressure, no "selling". Our meetings with Chris were great. He got to know us and our personalities, gave us great ideas, liked our ideas, and made it so easy to relax and not worry about the music and our guests enjoying themselves. Wedding day!!!!!! So when we arrive (into cocktail hour) we hear music at a great level, the music we discussed, people laughing and having fun. He met us and let us know how to work the grand entrance. When the party was announced it went just as planned and the time for the new mr & mrs to be announced was PERFECT. The rest of the night was wonderful. All the music we wanted and Chris and his assistant were the bees knees! He got our guests excited and was in the mix without being that obnoxious dj that goes over the top in a bad way. Very classy, most certainly a pleasure to work with. You will not be disappointed! I especially liked the Bose speakers for quality sound :) Note- book early! Chris and his team did a phenomenal job MCing and DJing our wedding as well as providing photo booth services. His professionalism and experience were evident throughout. He listened to our requests and put together a killer playlist. He cared about the subtle details and showed that he wanted to make our experience unique and matching to our theme/tone. We had the BEST time and I am certain it had so much to do with our DJ, Kyle, from Unforgettable DJ's. He took so much care and got to know our expectations. He catered to us and we both knew that he was going to help us make our wedding one that we would never forget. Even now (only a few weeks after) I have forgotten what songs played, but I remember the feelings I had looking around seeing the people we love and love us dancing and having a great time! Those are the moments you don't forget. He was flexible, accommodating, kind, fun, and a true professional. He found a way to make the "formalities" not so formal and was able to get everyone involved without making the party come to a halt. This was the second of our two back to back weddings. Our DJ during the first was awful. A lot of people would think that it would be easy to follow such a terrible act, but our expectations were made even more specific and we were on guard because of the first experience. Not once did my husband and I feel we were going to have anything similar to our first DJ catastrophe. KYLE KILLED IT! We LOVED everything about Unforgettable DJs. We booked them for our wedding (ceremony and reception), and felt so lucky to get Joe as our DJ. Joe was amazing! We met with him twice - once before booking and once after - and both meetings had us come away smiling and super pumped for the big day. We didn't know too much about the etiquette or even the right questions to ask, but they were on it. Joe walked us through everything step-by-step, and was extremely helpful and patient. He basically created our wedding timeline with us, and offered up great suggestions when we got a little stumped with certain areas of what should happen next in a wedding. Joe also got our personalities and was able to create the perfect music for our wedding day! So many of our guests during the cocktail hour came up to us saying things like, "he just played my favorite song" and "I didn't know you had my favorite radio station DJ'ing", it was awesome! He delivered exactly the vibe we were hoping for, and all of our guests were raving about him all night. We couldn't stop dancing - we even danced through dessert haha Best part of all, Joe was so great to work with. He dealt with all of my last minute emails changing things up, always ending his emails reassuring us he was looking forward to the big day! When we got back from our honeymoon we found that Joe had sent us a handwritten thank you note, it was so nice of him! Phenomenal! People danced for 4 hours! We had a Sunday brunch wedding, so I thought it was going to be difficult to get people to dance. Not so with Unforgettable DJs in the house. Nick was incredible from start to finish. He listened to our wants, helped with our ideas and made good on his promises. He worked closely with the venue on timing and never missed a beat. Good DJs are hard to come by. GREAT DJs like Chris are one in a million and were glad we found him and unforgettable DJs. Here's my review run down: Pros: - no pressure ever added from the beginning when we met Chris to our final meeting. As a marketer I appreciate when people are not pressuring me. I had enough things to think about. - most responsive vendor we had. Very quick to respond to emails - from the pick of our songs, knew how to keep the dance floor packed all night long (this was out goal) - had a method to reading our crowd and keeping them entertained. We had a very diverse group of wedding guests from all over. - asked us as the bride and groom questions that I never thought about or read about. You can tell they had the experience - called me two days before to check on us to see if we needed anything, thought of anything else, etc. I was doing vendor calls the next day to confirm so I was glad they followed up with me. - our guests throughout the night kept complimenting us on our dj and told us how much fun they had. - my favorite part was when Chris was finished playing what we thought was the last song of the night, the entire dance floor chanted in unison 'one more song, one more song'. Needless to say he did play one more and a few of our friends went over to hug him behind the DJ podium. I've never see that happen. Cons: (not really) - that I don't plan on getting married again or have any future events where I would need to hire unforgettable DJs but if I did I would use them again in a hear beat. First and foremost, speak with and hire these guys, it's just the right thing to do. Our amazing luck when it came to hiring vendors started when we spoke with Chris. We were never exactly at the club every weekend, we much preferred listening to 90's/early 2000's alternative music, occasionally rocking out to Shoop by Salt-N-Pepa. We explained this to Chris Garrow and we immediately knew that one, he understood exactly what we wanted and two, he knew how to pull it off. Time went on, Covid hit and the big party we had planned took a turn becoming a smaller, more intimate, "Covid conscious" event. This is where picking Chris paid off in ways I could never quite explain here. One of the many talents Chris has that many wedding DJs do not have is the ability to read a room. He was able to make a playlist and manage the flow of the wedding beautifully, even flexible enough to work in some out of the box request. Stopping his set to allow the groom's nephew to play a song on violin. A moment we will never forget and appreciate so very much. Not to mention the other requests that came his way. He also worked with our photographer so we could get amazing audio quality on our last-minute decision to live stream the ceremony. All in all when hiring vendors, no matter who they are, the service they provide before the big day is almost, if not more important than the day of. Chris was spectacular in his honesty (when it came to handling Covid), his recommendations when it came to the flow of the day, attentiveness to emails, and great to talk to about music in general. Married on July 9, 2016. I know this review is a little bit late, but let me just say that Chris and his team at Unforgettable DJs were amazing to work with. As the groom, I didn't have much responsibility but one thing I wanted a say in, was the music. After looking throughout the magazines and web sites, I thought almost every DJ in the area looked like they were straight from Staten Island ready to take over the Jersey Shore. I was looking for someone who had a more "mature" vibe, yet could still make the party fun for everyone. We met with Chris and discussed everything from music selection to pricing options. He was never pushy and always kept in mind what we wanted. On the day of the wedding, he was just as great. He greeted many different guests and talked to them about what they wanted to hear and did his best to fulfill requests. I know it was tough too because we also needed to include some Polish music for my side of the guests. He kept the party rocking until the very last song. In fact, I think what upset me the most was when the photographer made us leave the party to take some pics and I missed a few of my favorite songs! My wedding experience with Chris and Unforgettable DJs was absolutely positive and stress free. Now I know that may sound a bit unrealistic to those of you brides out there planning the biggest day of your life. But hiring Chris and his staff for my New Year's Eve wedding was the best decision I made. I called Unforgettable DJs and spoke with Chris for at least 15 minutes. He asked me the general details of my wedding and told me a little bit about the company and their experience. We scheduled an appointment to meet in person a week or two later. When my fiance and I met with Chris at his office, we really felt like we were in his home - that is how comfortable he made us feel. He made the effort to get to know us - not just as an "engaged couple" but us as individuals; where we grew up, our family backgrounds, interests and dislikes. After spending close to an hour and a half with us, I knew that hiring him was a "no brainer". In the months leading up to the wedding, Chris was extremely available to this crazy bride! By email, telephone or during our creative session meetings, he was there to answer my litany of questions ranging from the ceremony music, to lighting colors and possible play lists (and NO-play lists). He and his staff did everything I asked for and more. For example, I attended a wedding a few years ago where the bride and groom played a photo slide show of the two of them. This was something I really wanted to do for our wedding since my fiance and I have been friends since the 4th grade. Chris not only scanned all of the photos for me, but edited the music, added graphics and additional photos of the two of us during the ceremony. It was perfect! The comments from my guests were evidence of their professionalism. From my mother and father who thought Chris was the perfect Master of Ceremonies who orchestrated the evening with an elegant ease to the youngest hip-hop dancers who thought he just Jammed the Box. My inbox is flooded with emails from all our friends and families who have told us that it was the best wedding and New Year's Eve party that they have ever been too. Thank God for Chris Garrow and Unforgettable DJ's! I have been planning parties my whole life; from intimate family functions to large corporate outings, to 3000 of my closest friends at Super Bowls. So I have experienced the best of the best. Chris Garrow ranks in that rare air of the cream of the crop. When our daughter and her fiance said they wanted a DJ for their wedding, my wife and I showed our age. All we could think of were DJ's of our youth; tacky guys with bad sound systems and strobe lights, spinning records and overpowering everybody with bad "group" dances. I wanted to "over-rule" and hire a polished NYC band from a hot club or a group who had entertained us at one of our big industry parties. That is, until Chris and Unforgettable was recommended to us; and I promptly drove to their offices to meet Chris. I was quickly put at ease, and totally impressed with his relaxed demeanor and professional and thorough approach. Chris is a total pro. Chris took me through his process and I quickly realized there was a lot I didn't know. After that first meeting, I knew we had the right DJ and everything music-wise would be great, and that was a relief. After all, music and food are the two top ingredients for a great reception/party. In follow up meetings, Chris met with me and the Bride and Groom, and scripted our entire day. The ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and after party. He hired a jazz quartet for us for the ceremony and cocktail party. When the Big Day rolled around, Chris and his assistant set the tone for one of the best weddings ever (our friends and family actually said it was THE Best ever). Their handling of the announcements, introductions and all were perfect. But most of all, the playlist went perfectly with the tempo of the evening, as they blended the traditional with the contemporary. The dance floor was never empty. The true testament to the music of the evening was this; friends and family requested copies of the "playlist of Theresa and Mitch's wedding" for their Ipods! And BTW, Chris was so kind as to accommodate that request as well! Listen, as I learned so well, these weddings are a big deal, and a big worry. My experience with Unforgettable DJ's was great right from the beginning. I started my research by simply emailing a few companies to get an idea of how much services would cost. I got a reply from Chris at Unforgettable within 24 hours. Not only was his price very reasonable, but he simply gave me a price on what I had asked for. Other companies had written back prices for a million and one things I didn't want or need. Setting up an appointment with Chris was super easy. He accommodated our work schedules and met with us in the evening. We sat for almost three hours discussing what we were looking for and what our options were. Chris took the time to really get to know us. And this is BEFORE we committed!! We knew after that first meeting he was the guy for us! Every dealing we had with Unforgettable was a joy. I've always been that girl at parties throwing on her ipod/iphone and putting on her playlists, so music is something I'm really into and care a lot about. Aiden and his assistant, Louis, made my friend's wedding and reception an absolute blast! They are super professional. They pay attention to little details. They're great at setting the atmosphere. During the dinner, the music had a good groove. Nothing too loud or too fast. And when it was time to start dancing, they brought the energy up quick. They really did awesome by playing a Khmer song for the bride (my friend!) and her family to dance to. They were great at getting people to come out on the dance floor. They interacted with the guests and even taught folks how to do the Electric Slide, Cupid Shuffle, and Cha Cha Slide. The bridal party and guests had so much fun! read more

Well i would like to first say that I'm not a bride or a personal friend but a vendor and an admirer who has worked with Unforgettable DJ's many many times. They are fun, easy going and as professional as it gets. It really ticks me off when a "stressed out" bride who didn't even use their services gets to write a bad review on good vendors that are trying very hard to make a good name for themselves among this challenging industry in this tough economy! Its one thing to ask to negotiate on price but Its highly disrespectful to ask if they have to eat! Of course you offended them! Seems like the reviewer above is a professional RANTER! She has earned the "Elite 11" status on Yelp! She has almost 200 reviews and if she doesn't get her way...oh boy, watch out! In this case, I think Tiffany didn't get what she really wanted and she is throwing a tantrum. Now I agree that we are all entitled to our opinions but if you didn't even have the pleasure of experiencing a service from a vendor I don't think you are entitled to a review....its the same as a poser bride writing a good review to rank the ratings higher. Its just plain wrong! So if I was a bride I'd judge them on their work and their rep around the industry not the fact that they won't negotiate their prices. read more

My fiancé & I were on the fence whether to book a band or DJ, but at the end of the day we knew we would have such an amazing & fun crowd & they were going to dance the night away, regardless so our big money saver was to go the DJ route. We have witnessed Chris & his team in action many of times before, & knew right away that Unforgettable DJs was the first & last place we had to look! We are a fun, easy going couple who just wanted to hear some great music the day of our wedding, dance, make sure everyone was having a blast, & if for any STRANGE reason the dance floor should be empty, we wanted to assure our DJ would liven up the crowd! Chris was amazing from day 1, he was completely responsive in answering our emails. He knew anything & everything there was to know about his profession & was able to answer our questions honestly & give great advice to ascertain our night would be the absolute best it could be. He was down to earth & fun so we knew his vibe was going to keep the energy flowing & the crowd happy! He was amazing at completing all of our edit requests (there were quite a few), & even made a few edits to choose from for some of the songs. He coordinated with the venue & with our videographer to make sure everything with sound, speeches, & music would run smoothly so myself or my fiancé would not have to be the middle man. Him & his team were on time the day of, had everything set up & perfect for our ceremony, cocktail hour & reception! As if this wasn't enough, we loved that Chris didn't try to "sell" us on anything. He didn't push any extras on us. He offered his suggestions on a few things and we in no way felt pressured. We did decide to do some TVs & up lighting which turned out AMAZING & were extremely happy we did.
