I hired Unforgettable Edibles to cater my baby shower on 6/11/22. I was browsing catering companies and wanted a place that offered small bites, so I decided to take a chance on them, and I was not disappointed! Everything was perfect and headache free from the initial phone call to the last bite of food! I was expecting about 20 to 24 guests and Jill helped me figure out how much food to get, which was spot on (6 - 8 pieces per person). I ordered a variety of hors d'oeuvres, and each one was SOOO delicious! The flavors, portions, and the way they looked were perfect. My favorite was the steak crostini, but the chicken salad tarts, fondue mushrooms, Irish sausage puffs, fig and goat cheese flatbreads, and sliders were a very close 2nd. The food was very neatly and artistically displayed on trays, and everything was labeled. All of my guests were thoroughly impressed. The food was picked up around 4 pm and because of the insulated containers food was kept in, it was still quite hot when I eventually served at 6:30. I used UE for an afternoon house party of 35. I had not used them in probably 25 years or so as I just hadn't catered in that long. So glad I decided to return to them. Everything went perfect. From the day I called to reserve the date to the day of delivery. They are quick to respond to emails and phone calls; helpful in deciding on a menu, and very calming. After much thought and indecisiveness, I selected the deviled eggs and hummus for appetizers and mini sandwich platters with potato and garden salad salads. Paid a little extra for crab/shrimp salad sandwiches as one of the three options, along with turkey and pesto caprese. All three sandwiches were a hit but the turkey and crab were exceptional. Potato salad was fantastic! Didn't need the brownies/cookies as I had my own desserts so opted for a fruit salad for dessert. It was nice that they took a couple bucks off each serving. I think the prices are very reasonable and I think that plays a big factor in keeping this business afloat when so many others fell post covid. As do many restaurants and retailers are jacking up prices, UE doesn't appear to be doing so. Great food, great service, at a reasonable price. When you turn 40, you just have to go big or go home. That's why I had UE cater my 40th birthday this summer. We were pleased with how everything turned out. The party was at our home and we had 2 gals to help with food and 1 bartender. We ended up with 7 or 8 heavy hordeurves and there was more than enough food. The ladies were professional, so friendly and kept our house nice and tidy. We rented a few high boys, bar tending table, linens and used their glassware. It was nice not to have to worry about washing dishes. They cut my cake for me at the end of the evening and by the time it was the end of the 6 hours we paid for their services, my kitchen was spotless and they arranged the remaining food with labels and to-go containers. Jill was a total professional throughout the entire process.We were able to have a tasting with her on a visit to Chicago. We had our wedding reception at the Irish American Heritage Center in NW Chicago in March 2015, and Unforgettable Edibles did the catering for us -- and really took care of so many little and big things for us over the weeks leading up to the wedding, it's hard to believe they were technically "only the caterers" and not full-on wedding coordinators. We worked with Jill in particular, and she was consistently knowledgable, patient, no-nonsense (nice for the hubs especially), and gave great advice and perspective throughout our experience. During the wedding week itself, we had so many last-minute changes (not something I ever like) that I was sure Jill would pull me aside and say, "You know what, we just can't do x, y, or z, it's too late", but she never did. She was sooo patient and kept me calm, and even took on a little bit of an Olivia Pope aura. ("It's handled.") Oh, and also the food was amazing, of course -- it got rave reviews from the critical elder crowd as well as the foodies. The cocktail-hour bites were amazing, and the waitstaff were fantastic. We've switched over to ordering from them directly more often instead of using a corporate delivery service, and the quality of food is fantastic (especially their desserts - yum). The soup without meat (potato leek) was made with chicken broth, so our two vegetarians were unable to eat either. Unforgettable Edibles is a place I have been using since December, 1991. With two kids, birthday, Communion, graduation parties, I was a frequent customer. However, as your children grow up and move on in life my reason to "use them" became infrequent, until Christmas Eve. I arrived at 12:15, called their phone number to let them know I was outside, but knew I was early for my 12:30 pickup time. No problem, out came a young man who placed our order in my trunk. Arriving home I found clear, concise instructions for reheating our pork tenderloin, double baked potatoes, turnip and green bean casserole meal for the evening. The theme of the day was travel as the bride-to-be has lived all over the world.
