This small plaza is part of Washington Park, but sits right at the intersection of Washington St…read more and West St. There are 15 minute parking meters along West St., so it is an easy stop to make and pick up a little history. Dedicated on Veteran's Day in 2005, , it boast several interesting features. Among them are a 36 inch granite floating globe, a beautiful statue of a WWI dough boy, a statue of Orion Howe, a Civil War drumer boy, who was the youngest soldier to ever receive the US Congressional Medal of Honor. (He was 14 years old!) Also there is the largest bronze sculpture wall flag in the United States. This plaza is not necessarily a destination, unless you are a history buff, but if you are in the area, it is a serene and educational site to pause and reflect on the sacrifices of other. It is not exactly the best stop in the dead of winter, especially calf deep in snow, but I'm still glad we came. It was worth it to learn about Orion Howe.

She said she would get a fresh batch of shrimp to put on there right away and left. At that point we realized a few more things. The pasta was cool in the center, so not fresh. Also the sauce was meat sauce and not plain marinara. Our waitress came back to let us know it would just another minute for the shrimp, but at this point we explained that we needed a whole new plate of food. To her credit she did bring us a fresh plate, correct this time, in a very short time. But that's already 3 strikes. My ziti, on the other hand, WAS perfect. Time to pay. They didn't add on or bring me my take home meal, and at this point i was over it. They use those stupid self pay kiosks places like to stick in the tables now... I hate these things. It's tacky and hurts the service aspect your underpaid staff relies on for tips. The thing wouldn't read my cards chip. I tried about 20 times and finally had to use a different card that had the "tap" function, but I didn't want to use that card at that moment. As we left there was a trail of water across the floor... a potential hazard for my grandmother. I actually typically like this place. It's a decent family style meal for a reasonable price.
