Expect random employees to give you the cold shoulder if you present as LGBT, others will openly share homophobic viewpoints, when reported there will be no actions taken. The Chair of the Board, who is also director of admissions at Union, glared at every student who wore traditional Muslim clothing at graduation while she assisted with handing out diplomas, it's clearly visible in video from the 2024 graduation. I'm not sure how someone with openly bigoted religious views got appointed to the board but my guess is campaign contributions had a lot to do with it. This person was also verbally hostile and went out of her way to make students feel uncomfortable at the public event I attended with her. If you have options to attend another school I'd suggest taking them. I would say the teachers are wonderful which is why I enjoyed the online classes, but they are overworked and underfunded which again points to poor administration. The fish rots from the head and SUNY Schenectady stinks.

They have one of the best campus in the capital district. I did take classes here over a decade ago and had one of the best experiences. The college was voted as America's best part school . You want to witness this, just stop by on st. Patrick's day when the students get drunk and start flipping over parked cars!! A great place to go to college and enjoy college life.

The campus is nice, though its over 170 acres and spread out, most of the action happens near the Siena Hall. They do have a good lacrosse and basket ball team. I've been here 4 or 5 times at this point and have had a very good experience overall. One thing I…read morelike about the place is, obviously, the price. It's super reasonable to get a haircut here because they are students. On top of that, it feels like a salon (although there are students working on their dummy heads to practice). They have a separate wash room that is a bit more serene and a busy salon floor. The students are generally friendly and eager. They are also supervised by a learning leader (I've noticed there are usually at least two, often three, walking the floor at all times). I think most of the time the students are good about checking in with their learning leader if they're unsure about how to do something. (My two cents: There is a male learning leader with short dark hair who is especially good with the students.) If something is too complicated for a student, the learning leader models how to do it. I did have a student sort of rush, but only once. I still walked out with a good cut, although I think she should have checked in with her learning leader before moving ahead with a part of the cut. She also "styled" by hair with the straightener, which cost $8 more than the $12 cut I was expecting, so that was sort of unpleasant. I'm sure I could have spoken up and had that fee removed since I didn't want the styling, but I didn't feel like getting into it. If I had one suggestion, it would be that the school offered either a physical or digital comment card so that customers could leave feedback for the students. It's not asked for in any way, which seems weird to me considering the learning aspect, and if it were to be asked, I'd rather write it down than have a potentially awkward conversation with the student. That being said, I am really happy with the Paul Mitchell School and will continue to go back for my my cuts, especially since I get pretty simple styles (although I've seen them do great, more complicated stuff on other clients getting work done). I started going here because my coworker's daughter attended the school and she was getting her (great) hair done there (and I was hearing good things about their program from my coworker). I haven't gone anywhere else since.

You walk into the student bathroom and people are in tears about how horrible it is. And how they waisted 24 THOUSAND dollars. They can't keep staff because they treat them like absolute garbage. Admin is nothing but rude and do not care about anyone. You learn how to do nails on a paper. They stopped doing all services other than hair. No nails,waxing or pedicures. On top of it all, my parents made a check to them and it bounced! I will say they fixed the problem within 48 hours but the problem should not have occurred. They bash other cosmetic schools because "they teach more" no they do not. Go somewhere cheaper and kinder to students and staff

I might have to come back to edit this review or add more details. I had the best counselor Ash***, Eliz**** and Jenn. Best people to work with. I have an international background, they really helped me 360*, I mean the admin people go above and beyond to make things possible for you, to succeed. I have had the best experience here. The teachers are the best as well. This is not even exaggeration because I had classes with them. They help you in most flexible way possible. Most of them are charges nurses and providers and doctors. This is an awesome school. Might be over charging a bit, but if you get the aid then what else matters. They will enable you to get your certification and earn more money anyways. I really had done the whole math on it. This is one of the best options around. Went to the Albany campus. Saw the ad on Facebook, filled out my info and got the email the next day to come in and take the TEAS for nursing. They are quick with everything. They are available Saturday n Sunday, no playing games. You do have to put in the work though. They have strict policies and they do follow it to the bone, especially with nursing. I respect the teachers and it shows. Some students don't respect the teachers and they were ready to yell at the teachers and admin. To each its own. As a student, you do have to put in the work and show up for the classes , there is no shortcut to school and if you think you can turn them around and not do the work, it might not end up good for you.

Even with one place refusing to continue the relationship for clinicals and the school scrambling to find another. They try to drag out student courses even though they claim to be "accelerated". You take 2 classes every 8 weeks and no summer breaks like a normal 2 year college. If your looking to get a degree as an MA or LPN, I would 100% recommend you search other schools out. I would have given this place a 0 star rating but I am not allowed.

Each of my teenage daughters did behind-the-wheel lessons with Steve. The girls have different…read morepersonalities and approached learning to drive with completely different attitudes, and Steve's lessons adjusted to what they needed perfectly. The confident, casual daughter memorized a bunch of Steve's sayings and they arrived back like a couple of buddies and proceeded to perform them for us parents like a jokey catechism. For the super-nervous daughter, he instructed her to pull over as she was fighting tears and explained to me afterwards, "When they're fighting tears they're too distracted to drive safely and learn, so it's better just to pull over, cry for a couple of minutes, and move on." Both girls passed their behind-the-wheel test on the first try.
