WARNING !!! this review is biased I've spent the last 4 years at this university but for this review I wanted to talk about the campus architecture, food, and also the environment of the campus. The thing that attracted me the most about UA was the architecture- UA consists of a high percent of stone/cement compared to bricks which gives the campus a romantic and classical feel. Plus the fountain In the middle of the campus is honestly breathtaking. Food- dining hall food/ all you can eat buffet for student is honestly nasty, however they recently opened a campus center which consists of a variety of cuisines Environment- the environment changes depending on the weather. In the winter, the campus can be depressing. No one really goes out because it's too cold, however, there are tunnels provided for students to travel to classes(honestly a life saver when the weather is below freezing) In the spring/ summer however, there are so many good vibes I the environment. Students hang out right next to the fountain, everyone is walking outside and enjoying the fresh air!

The campus layout is pretty big, and parking is a bear to find. I do work over here as a contractor and it's a mess to find parking.

This is the third university I have attended and it is by far the most disorganized. The financial…read moreaid office was a hot mess, misquoting timelines and dates constantly. My federal aid came 6 weeks later than promised so I had to figure out a way to buy my books out of pocket or take a failing grade for missing assignments in 3 weeks of my 8 week accelerated term. The advisor I have worked with is catty and unprofessional, despite my professionalism with expressing concerns and documenting everything thoroughly. 1/3 of my teachers weee unresponsive through the entirety of the semester which made me have to escalate to my advisor just to get an answer after 2 weeks of waiting. For half of my term my grade stated it was a D- despite every assignment I had showing A. I had to escalate this to the office as well to get it reevaluated. Looking back - if there's anything that surprises me the most about this experience it's the fact that for a university that prioritizes adults going back to school, they require a shocking amount of of babysitting and cross verification (keep receipts for EVERYTHING) just for basic coordinating between financial aid, advisors, and teachers.

I withdrew from classes with enough time to receive a full refund. This University has wrongfully…read morewithheld a substantial amount of money from my bank account while claiming my refund is still being processed a month later. Staff is rude and has no concern with resolving serious issues. They will not call you back at any point after stating they will.

I had a really good experience…read more It's a little bit confusing in the beginning but your counselor will help you figure it out. I might have to come back to edit this review or add more details. I had the best counselor Ash***, Eliz**** and Jenn. Best people to work with. I have an international background, they really helped me 360*, I mean the admin people go above and beyond to make things possible for you, to succeed. I have had the best experience here. The teachers are the best as well. This is not even exaggeration because I had classes with them. They help you in most flexible way possible. Most of them are charges nurses and providers and doctors. This is an awesome school. Might be over charging a bit, but if you get the aid then what else matters. They will enable you to get your certification and earn more money anyways. I really had done the whole math on it. This is one of the best options around. Went to the Albany campus. Saw the ad on Facebook, filled out my info and got the email the next day to come in and take the TEAS for nursing. They are quick with everything. They are available Saturday n Sunday, no playing games. You do have to put in the work though. They have strict policies and they do follow it to the bone, especially with nursing. I respect the teachers and it shows. Some students don't respect the teachers and they were ready to yell at the teachers and admin. To each its own. As a student, you do have to put in the work and show up for the classes , there is no shortcut to school and if you think you can turn them around and not do the work, it might not end up good for you.

I don't know where to begin. At first I thought wow this could be really worth it, and as time went…read moreon I started to notice staff quitting, student needs not being met, no clear communication, inadequate teaching, and plenty more. Even with one place refusing to continue the relationship for clinicals and the school scrambling to find another. They try to drag out student courses even though they claim to be "accelerated". You take 2 classes every 8 weeks and no summer breaks like a normal 2 year college. If your looking to get a degree as an MA or LPN, I would 100% recommend you search other schools out. I would have given this place a 0 star rating but I am not allowed.

It's very confusing and it's filled with administrative BS-ing. So much paperwork. Sometimes the account login, wifi, a lot of technicality is in flux because of this transition phase. Who do you go to report a problem? "Go to this person" "No go to that person b/c of the transition" "Oh that person doesn't work here anymore" etc. Just transition already! Also it's filled with so many different companies and people which I am not complaining about. But there are certain buildings and places that you can't go without the SUNY ID, which again is muddled with the transition so it is hard to access a room which was once your classroom to a room that is now controlled and operated by another tech company. So stupid. Also the degree is way too specialized and hard that it is almost impossible to get out of the engineering. Maybe you can intern at one of the partner companies, but it is very hard to move onto another grad program like MBA or medicine because the bachelors in nanotechnology was way too specialized and hard to complement another profession. So it forces students to do another bachelors!
