I've really enjoyed living at Union Station! The staff in the office are always caring, friendly, and welcoming, which makes a big difference. The property is perfect for families with kids and pets -- it has such a comfortable, community feel. I've noticed great updates happening lately, especially with the exterior buildings, and everything looks better every day. I lived here for about 2 years and overall I had a good experience. I'm currently in the process of apartment searching in the new city I have relocated to, and seeing as I'm relying on other people's yelp reviews to sort the good apts from the bad, I thought I'd return the favour and lay down some facts for anyone trying to figure out if Union Station is a good fit for them. I'm surprised to see so many negative reviews, but maybe people who are happy with their apartments don't take the time to take reviews, lol. Like any place, there is good and bad to living here. In my personal experience, the good definitely outweighed the bad, but in the interest of being as honest as I can with this review, I'll start with the bad: 1) When I moved in, the pipe that was connected to the air conditioning had been installed in a way that it dripped cold water on me while I was showering. Super weird- just an exposed pipe in my shower. I was told it was just a design flaw and there's not much that can be done about it. Thankfully, I have a friend who does HVAC and had some suggestions for solutions. I called maintenance again, and this time they worked with me and fixed my issue. 2) The pools were often closed (this was pre COVID) 3) It is a bit of pain to do your laundry if you don't live in a unit that's near the clubhouse. The apartment complex is quite large, and I had to drive my laundry to the clubhouse to do it rather than just being able to walk down. It's also coin laundry, which is a bit annoying. 4) it is a "gated" community, but there are no gates around the parking lots so anyone can walk in. There was an issue for awhile with people coming from Lakota Lakes (apartment across the street) to use our pool and crowding it up. The "gates" don't really stop that from happening. It's basically just a gate at the front entrance and only prevents cars from parking there. 5) I had some annoying neighbours for sure, but you kind of get those everywhere. Mostly it was people blasting loud music. I never really felt that the walls were super thin though- it only bothered me when the music was SUPER loud. 6) at the time I lived there, there was no recycling. If you wanted to recycle, you had to figure out a different place to do that, which obviously nobody wanted to do as it's really inconvenient. It killed me inside a bit to see all the plastic people were throwing away and not recycling... hopefully they change that. Ok, so now here are the positives! 1) ample parking, never had to worry about finding a spot directly by my apartment at any hour of the day. 2) the gym is small, but it's nice and wasn't that busy. I never had to wait for a machine. 3) the clubhouse really is nice, and they occasionally host events there with free food. 4) the apartment itself was very well designed. I had a one bedroom and it was a great size; even had a walk in closet and a huuuuuge balcony. Everything was in great shape- new appliances, the carpet was clean. 5) I had a positive experience with the maintenance team and the leasing office. They were friendly and responded to my requests promptly. 6) the location is pretty convenient. West Chester as a rule isn't particularly "walkable" but my unit was literally in the backyard of a UDF, Waffle House, and Little Caesar's. Made it super easy to stroll over there if I needed something in a pinch. There's also a cute local bar right across the street called the Village Tavern. 7) the premises are kept very clean. Pool and gym room are well maintained. Overall, I'd recommend living here. No apartment complex is perfect and there were minor inconveniences along the way, but I really did enjoy the 2 years I spent living here and actually feel homesick looking at pictures of the apartments! read more

If I could give this place -1000 stars I would. The 2 ladies up front do not do anything, they cannot answer the phone to save a life & the amount of people who have not paid their rent in the past 4-5 months is crazy. Let's talk about putting in a maintenance letter. They will never get back to you at all... I've been waiting for months for my sink and my door to get fixed not that's not even counting all of it. Would no recommend living here to anyone in a million years. Just putting out there if you don't want to pay your rent here... YOU DON'T HAVE TO! Management is perfectly fine with it. read more

My fiancé and I were looking for apartments today and decided to stop in to get some information. The leasing agent had zero interest in helping our needs. I said we are looking for 1 or 2 bed and she says "not gonna happen" and she said when is your moving date and she said "not gonna work, we have a wait list" so it was very clear she didn't want to take the time to even attempt to give us information on the wait list or anything. I used to be a leading agent at Four Bridges so I know how the job works and that was very disrespectful and I would never want to spend my money at a place where they treat people like that. I wish I would have asked for her name because her customer service was absolutely terrible. Don't waste your time!!! read more

Currently a resident stuck paying over $1000 a month for nothing we were promised and ants in our shower. We were told when we signed our lease that we would have a wood burning fire place & valet trash. We don't have either and the excuse was that the woman who leased us our unit was new. That's not our fault. When we noticed we didn't have our fireplace during the walk through the leasing agent said "oh well at least you have more space in the living room" like no? We were told we had new carpet and it is definitely nowhere near new. I hate to leave a bad review but I don't want the same thing happening to other people what happened to my husband and I. Nothing is new or renovated & dog poop is left everywhere. Extremely disappointed and if we could move out tomorrow we would. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!! Fair warning about things you should know that they don't tell you: 1. After the 1st, they will penalize you with $100 per day that you're late with rent. Sometimes the online portal doesn't work and when it doesn't, you have to leave work to go to the bank and get a cashier's check before 5pm when they leave. 2. They NEVER answer the phone so in order to talk to anyone in the leasing office, you have to go there. Rain, sunshine, ice or snow. 3. Maintenance is almost non-existant. Our AC has been out for two days and it is currently hotter (86°) inside than it is outside. They do not care. 4. They will promise fixes to your apartment if things go wrong, and never come out to fix them. Ever. You have to make time to go to the leasing office and literally beg them to take care of your issue. 5. The online portal will sometimes double charge your for water, sewer, trash, etc and you WILL HAVE TO pay it otherwise your rent is late. Once you make the time to speak to someone at the leasing office IN PERSON, they will credit your next month for the overcharge. So hopefully you have an extra couple hundred laying around to cover the extra fees. 5. They never clean the hallways or stairs. It smells like mildew and they're dirty from the foot traffic. It's embarrassing to ever have anyone over. 6. Our building hallway has been out for over a month with no fix. That's a safety issue they also don't care about. 7. They like to close the pool on weekends without notice to tenants. The pool has the bare minimum items. I'm shocked they even have lawn chairs. 8. I'm not sure what the screening process for tenants are, but there are cops in the premises handling domestic issues on a weekly basis. A few months ago, I had West Chester PD and the SWAT team barricading the downstairs apartment. That was an interesting thing to come home to. Lovely. 9. Lastly, in addition to the staff not caring about ANYTHING, and false promises regarding your work order, they are incredibly rude and disrespectful. Please do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to live. You will have so many issues here; it's not worth it. You pay too much to be neglected and treated this way. HORRIBLE!!! do not rent here!! I lived here for 3 years and could not WAIT to get out!!! Let's see... 4 property managers in 3 years, A/C and hot water heater both went and nobody wanted to fix anything. Loud neighbors and barking dogs.... The office managers will hang up on you rather then answer the phone and take responsibility for anything! Take my advice and buy rather then rent! read more

Overpriced apartments, bad condition, bugs all over, rude staff, stay away from this place !!! :(

When we first moved into Union Station we thought we had a great place to live while we saved up for a home. Great size apartment for a small family of 3 plus a medium sized dog. Location also couldn't have been more ideal for us. It's close to many shopping centers and not far from a few parks for our children to play at. The management was thoughtful, kind, and really put their tenants as priority #1. This past summer (May/June 2016) Union Station got a new ownership and completely replaced the entire management. They are rude, especially the man named Eric, they don't inform tenants about any changes that could be happening to the complex properly, for example we had the entire parking lot paved, which is great, however they didn't inform us properly and the day of we got a knock on our door saying that if we didn't move our cars they were going to get towed, this really made me angry. On top of everything else, they don't contact you at all if a maintenance request has been put in about your unit, unlike the old management where they would call within 24 hours to make sure they understood the nature of the request and would schedule a time for someone to come in and check out/fix the problem. Now we have to put in several requests (and receive no call back or anything) to just have our ceiling painted or repaired from a leak that happened months ago. Don't move here, the new management sign isn't a good sign. The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because they have 2 pools and a small fitness gym, if it weren't for those they would get only 1 star. read more

I moved in a year ago. Management was very nice and responded to maintenance issues very quickly. The management changed a few months ago to Towne Properties. The new staff is horrible. I had some problems with my water heater. I was told someone would come out within a couple of days. After a week, I went back to inquire again. I was told the same thing, a couple more days. Two days later I called Towne Properties directly and finally they came out personally to resolve the issue. I also started having problems with roaches. I worked with them to schedule pest control. When pest control never came, I called to inquire. I was told pest control came and was turned away. Since I was home and live by myself, this was not possible. They then realized the sent pest control to the wrong apartment. Today I received a Notice to Leave the Premises because I did not pay rent. The new management offered automatic payment from my bank account. I signed up for this right away. They said it would go through for August. I double checked August 1st with the office and they said they haven't been able to make autopay work yet, but it will definitely work for September. I paid with a check for August but did not double check in September since I was assured autopay would work. When I confronted the office, they said autopay was still not working and said I should not be upset because the Notice to Leave Premises was "just a piece of paper." read more
