The only crazy thing was the lines for the fitting room which we ended skipping and just gambling on the size. LOVE that you can customize any Uniqlo items and make them your own. You can do prints and embroidery, so much fun! Anything is customizable and I can't wait to give this a try. Lots of things on sale but also love their checkout system. The Uniqlo SoHo is unique because it was experimentally the very first store ever built outside of Japan. It's also the birthplace of RE.UNIQLO Studio, where you can get mending, sashiko stitching, or custom Japanese embroidery to give clothes a second life and you can get exclusive upcycled pieces. Unlike the larger scaled, more tourist-leaning 5th Avenue Store, Soho has the downtown loft street culture, history, and artistic heart. Having lived in Asia, I've got a soft spot for Uniqlo, where it's absolutely massive and part of everyday life. The selection is awesome, the fashion is genuinely "uniq" (I'm sorry), and over there the prices are unbeatable. Here in the States, the value just isn't the same, which I chalk up to importing and whatever taxes and tariffs get baked in along the way. The quality is still decent, and the SoHo store is a nice one to browse. I picked up a winter jacket that ran a little pricey for what it was, but I've been happy with it, so no regrets. If you know Uniqlo from abroad, dial the value expectations back a notch. If you don't, it's still a solid stop for well-made basics. read more

Yelp Review 2026 #4: I've been to Uniqlo stores in Japan and Canada and for the most part, the employees are pretty chill and leads you alone until you come up to them and ask for assistance. Not at this location in Soho! I wanted to check out their Ghibli shirts and they had a very limited collection. I went to the design counter where there was an employee - she was basically physically there. There was no urge to assist anyone or even acknowledge anyone. Huge clothing store with three levels; lots of people, but still very orderly. Was able to find outer wear fairly quickly and floor staff were readily available to help with any merchandise finds. The fitting room line was another stretch out wait- though the line moved pretty quickly as well. Cashier counters are all self-served kiosks, and also fairly efficient. Great selection, and also have UT design your own studio! I went in to check out their exclusive NYC embroidery selection and was kind of disappointed. They got rid of the Statue of Liberty, and the other selection seemed kind of basic. The NYC skyline was cool but very small and not that detailed. Had a really great experience in this store and love that they offer personalized embroidery services at this location (bonus that it is super affordable). My friend and I got there at a good time because there was no wait. We picked our items and then Diane P. helped us with the embroidery and she was great, very helpful and able to show us options and took all of the info down carefully. Shout out Diane! There were a few orders in front of us and a few coming in after (plus there were two of us). We paid then left our items to get embroidered while we went off and carried on with our day. They told us we would get texts in a few hours when they were done. Within 3 hours both of us had gotten texts that our items were ready to be picked up. We went back and grabbed them. She showed them to make sure we liked them. I was obsessed! I got one of their viral bags with a little cat and dog and then a shirt with some words on it! The total cost was under $80 and that included the items themselves and personalization! Such I fun thing to do plus it's far more affordable than lots of other places that do this! I would recommend getting there close to when it opens and looking online to have an idea of what you want before you go! I think turn around timing will vary based on how busy it is. read more

Uniqlo is one of my favorite stores! I love them for helping me build the basics of my wardrobe. I have gone to other Uniqlos around where I live but this one in NYC is the biggest one that I have been to. The amount of clothes that I bought at this location.. so many options! They did a great job organizing the store and keeping it clean. Some things that they had at this Uniqlo that I have not seen at other Uniqlos is they had a system where you drop your clothes into a basket, and it automatically calculates all the items that you are going to buy and the cost without have to scan them individually! Super cool and saves a lot of time. Another thing is that other than clothes they had plants for sale at the front. The reason that I could not give it 5 stars is because the line for the changing room was so long. My guess was about an hour wait. Not worth it at all to wait in line for so I was not able to try on any of the clothes that I bought. When I got home there were some things that I would have not bought it I had the chance to try them on in store. On top of that we visited during the summer, and it must have been 100 degrees inside. It seemed that no A/C was running at all. The basement was absolutely, unbearably hot. read more

This Uniqlo has been in NYC for quite a time. If I cannot find any Uniqlo location then I would sort to this one. They carry a lot of simple and minimalist clothes for all genders and shapes. They have Heattech technology embedded in some of their clothes that prevent you from the cold and they do work like a miracle! I have a couple that I wear in the winter time when it is brick cold. They have many colors of the same type of clothing and have a lot of Small in stock. They never fail me when I try to look for Small. Their prices are pretty affordable and not on the high end, which attracts a lot of people. I love their T-shirts the most and always stock up when they go on sale. I have a couple of Heattech packs or jackets too but the problem is that they are easily to be wrinkly when you pack them and take it out of the pouch it comes with. There are many lounge, baby, children, and men items besides the women. This store has two levels so it's very big to go around. Magazines of style are out for customers to grab and learn about style. They also have a cool checkout system where you throw all your items in a bin and they automatically count all the items and give you the price you have to pay. Such a cool technology. They carry different size shopping paper bags which you have to pay. There's also an Uniqlo app you can download on your phone to accumulate points. Right by the entrance are flowers and bouquets. Uniqlo used to be a great place to shop, but they have used the pandemic to cheap out on customer service. Now they want you to return stuff you order online to the warehouse instead of just allowing you to exchange or return in the store. They don't even provide a return sticker so it is very inconvenient to return online. So, after standing outside in the cold, waiting in line to get in, I got on another long line to return the items I purchased online, only to be turned away because they didn't have my size for an item I wanted to exchange. This will make me think twice before buying anything online. And now that they have made it difficult to get into a store also, I guess I just won't shop there anymore. Think five times before ordering on Uniqlo online. You cannot bring items from your online order to a store to return, as one would think Uniqlo is also 'with the times' i.e. norm for EComm Customer experience, where an online order can be brought in-store to return aka Zara, Amazon, Madewell, CB2, H&M (the list goes on). As a Manhattanite, it's normal way of doing life and retail, especially in this city. And it gets better, the online return process is so unintuitive and complex that there's an extensive video/documentation posted of how to do it, see here (so you know what you're in for, should you want to return an online order).... https://faq-us.uniqlo.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/How-do-I-return-my-online-order. And of course, this complexity being a barrier of entry, and a way to for Uniqlo to keep the potential return $'s by this dark pattern i.e. making returns complex so people probably don't bother going through with it.. Hmm, very strange in this digital and paperless age, and who coined the term "return application" when trying to return two pairs of Heattech socks and leggings? I will take my business elsewhere, and will not be shopping at Uniqlo anymore, for the lack of transparency, a basic/core value of making customer experience easy, and for not being green (a forced/required step of a paper printout of the 'return application'). Purchases and returns are the every day basics of a retail business. I cannot imagine if a Customer had a more complex issue to resolve with Uniqlo, what would that look/experience be like? one of the BIGGEST Uniqlo stores I have seen. It was so easy to get lost in the 3 floors this place has. So many good deals and hidden gems through out the store. Despite it being packed with many customers, the service was great and quickly helped us move through lines. They have a custom t-shirt and tote bag service as well. This Uniqlo location in SoHo on Broadway is one that I visit very often. It's a three-level store with the women's section at the top, men's at the bottom, and a mix of both on the ground level. There's a free phone charging station to charge your phone while shopping. This time, I finally decided to splurge on a winter coat only to find that not much splurging was needed. I purchased a Seamless Down Coat for $79 (normally $159). Maybe it was good timing to buy these in late January? Anyhow, the coat fit me perfectly and covered down to almost my knees. It's water-repellent, wind proof, and has a removable hood. No scarf needed. Very convenient. So far, it kept me warm in 30 degree temperatures. Overall, Uniqlo has some really nice options for almost any type of weather. High quality clothing at fairly low prices. For me, I find a consistently perfect fit almost every time. Experience: Came here looking for a winter coat for my mom. The Uniqlo seamless down parka is perfect for her because she loves big hoods and zippered pockets! There were quite a few workers around offering to help people. They were easy to spot with headphones on. The store was very clean and neat and carried a lot more merch options than i'm used to at the Skyview Mall location. There is a huge display surrounded by glass in the center right when you come in for you to see all of the in-season styles. Heattech options as well as a few types of winter coats were on sale. This is probably the best Uniqlo in NYC. I've been to the flagship store however this particular location somehow always has the limited/special collections in stock. I particularly went to check out the Marni collab and was able to get exactly what I went in for as well as a few basics such as solid turtlenecks, mocknecks etc. they're clothing is affordable, wash well and the color palette is perfect to create a capsule wardrobe. I could spend hours here. Because this store is huge. There are 3 levels and even a Starbucks in it. Almost any clothing piece you can think of, they have a basic version of it here. And it's good quality basics, especially for the price. The prices here are reasonable and not too expensive. The items on sale are basically a steal. There are so many options for women and men, including tops, bottoms, business casual wear, undergarments, athletic wear, lounge items, and a lot of heat tech wear. This is a pretty big Uniqlo location with three different levels (basement level for men's collection, first level for women's collection, and second level for children's collection). Did you know that this Uniqlo is the only one in the States?[1] For those unfamiliar with Uniqlo, it's basically H&M on crack, with three floors of reasonably priced clothing, and way more attractive models on the walls. And cute staff. (I've been to the Shanghai store, and the trend holds.) When I stopped by to pick up pants for my boss, all the employees were helpful. A cheery floor manager examined the photo she e-mailed me, finding the exact style pants she wanted straightaway (after I'd been wandering for about ten minutes). While waiting to have the pants altered (alterations are FREE), another directed me to menswear. Finally, when they got annoyed at having me mill around (kidding), another staffer suggested I check the status of the hemming - then went and asked on my behalf, saving me an hour. There are some parts of the store where it is a little hard to walk, but that's because they have so much selection to put on display. We love coming to this uniqlo. We bought many cloths from here. Prices here are reasonable and staff are helpful as well. Most of the time we order online and choose to pick up at this location. Picking up is a breeze because you go to the very right of the checkout counter and usually it is empty there. The staff will take your order number and check your ID. They will find your item in the back and give it to you right away. This beats waiting in line for checkout because lines here can be crazy long with lots of tourists. Last time I when we were looking at a particular item in store, the price online was cheaper than the store listed price. We asked a staff if they can honor their online price and right away they said no problem and did it for us. This is great customer service and I was quite surprised. First location ever in NYC! Elevators used to be in the middle, but they have moved it to the back of the store. Staff are pretty helpful, and most items are in stock. Best come here on a weekday before 5pm. Weekends are really busy and you will be elbowing the person next to you.
