Yelp Review 2026 #4: I've been to Uniqlo stores in Japan and Canada and for the most part, the employees are pretty chill and leads you alone until you come up to them and ask for assistance. Not at this location in Soho! I wanted to check out their Ghibli shirts and they had a very limited collection. I went to the design counter where there was an employee - she was basically physically there. There was no urge to assist anyone or even acknowledge anyone. She was excellent at pretending to be doing something. So, snaps for that I guess. I left without a shopping bag for my frustration.

Huge clothing store with three levels; lots of people, but still very orderly. Was able to find outer wear fairly quickly and floor staff were readily available to help with any merchandise finds. The fitting room line was another stretch out wait- though the line moved pretty quickly as well. Cashier counters are all self-served kiosks, and also fairly efficient. Overall, even with the large crowds of people this location moved smoothly and quickly. Enjoyed my shopping experience

10/30/2024- Four stars for the frequent emails with store sales going on.. Yes, I did agree to sign up when I purchased a few items from the store in Emeryville, Ca. I loved the mock turtle neck so much, I went online to order two more- ofc different colors. Placed an order and received it today by Fed Ex.. The emails that were sent had this stores address.. so kudos for getting me to shop! 5 stars if they would open one up here in my town..

This Uniqlo is the flagship store carrying many items you may not see at their other branches. Men's, women and children's wear. The fall and winter fashion was out already. The down vest is still in vogue. We found a t shirt to gift a friend. You can also print your own t shirt in the store. A few areas to rest in the store.

Had a really great experience in this store and love that they offer personalized embroidery services at this location (bonus that it is super affordable). My friend and I got there at a good time because there was no wait. We picked our items and then Diane P. helped us with the embroidery and she was great, very helpful and able to show us options and took all of the info down carefully. Shout out Diane! There were a few orders in front of us and a few coming in after (plus there were two of us). We paid then left our items to get embroidered while we went off and carried on with our day. They told us we would get texts in a few hours when they were done. Within 3 hours both of us had gotten texts that our items were ready to be picked up. We went back and grabbed them. She showed them to make sure we liked them. I was obsessed! I got one of their viral bags with a little cat and dog and then a shirt with some words on it! The total cost was under $80 and that included the items themselves and personalization! Such I fun thing to do plus it's far more affordable than lots of other places that do this! I would recommend getting there close to when it opens and looking online to have an idea of what you want before you go! I think turn around timing will vary based on how busy it is.

What a beautiful store Loved it, it felt little crowded tho. Always end up bumping into people, very hard to avoid . They tried so hard to make it eye catching & beautiful but they messed up the space up by cluttering it ! They have lots of items to showcase , so end up loosing the breathing room. Maybe it's just me, what do I know about designs..! Other's customers maybe feeling different. Maybe it's just feels that way when it gets crowded! Overall it's very neat & clean. If I am not mistaken it's 3 floor , so lots to see. I only seen the main floor tho.

Uniqlo is one of my favorite stores! I love them for helping me build the basics of my wardrobe. I have gone to other Uniqlos around where I live but this one in NYC is the biggest one that I have been to. The amount of clothes that I bought at this location.. so many options! They did a great job organizing the store and keeping it clean. Some things that they had at this Uniqlo that I have not seen at other Uniqlos is they had a system where you drop your clothes into a basket, and it automatically calculates all the items that you are going to buy and the cost without have to scan them individually! Super cool and saves a lot of time. Another thing is that other than clothes they had plants for sale at the front. The reason that I could not give it 5 stars is because the line for the changing room was so long. My guess was about an hour wait. Not worth it at all to wait in line for so I was not able to try on any of the clothes that I bought. When I got home there were some things that I would have not bought it I had the chance to try them on in store. On top of that we visited during the summer, and it must have been 100 degrees inside. It seemed that no A/C was running at all. The basement was absolutely, unbearably hot.

They offer limited edition items. Taken previously Posted with review 06/12/21

Uniqlo in SOHO has the unique distinction of being the pick up place for certain online Uniqlo orders. Their policy used to designate one store for pick up rather than the store closest to your residence. I've been in this store for pick up and enjoyed my experience so much I periodically shop here when I'm in SOHO. As of May 2020 they offer in store pick up at more New York City locations. The ordering and pick up instructions are on their website. If you have been to a Uniqlo Store you are familiar with the styles and quality. I'm very selective about my purchases. I like the tops for both summer and winter. I tried their tights and leggings too. They have a lot of limited edition collaborations. Their merchandise offerings continue to change so you're never bored. Uniqlo is well known for their top notch customer service. I'm always happy when I shop this store even if I don't buy anything. I'm glad this location survived the Covid economic downfall.

This Uniqlo has been in NYC for quite a time. If I cannot find any Uniqlo location then I would sort to this one. They carry a lot of simple and minimalist clothes for all genders and shapes. They have Heattech technology embedded in some of their clothes that prevent you from the cold and they do work like a miracle! I have a couple that I wear in the winter time when it is brick cold. They have many colors of the same type of clothing and have a lot of Small in stock. They never fail me when I try to look for Small. Their prices are pretty affordable and not on the high end, which attracts a lot of people. I love their T-shirts the most and always stock up when they go on sale. I have a couple of Heattech packs or jackets too but the problem is that they are easily to be wrinkly when you pack them and take it out of the pouch it comes with. There are many lounge, baby, children, and men items besides the women. This store has two levels so it's very big to go around. Magazines of style are out for customers to grab and learn about style. They also have a cool checkout system where you throw all your items in a bin and they automatically count all the items and give you the price you have to pay. Such a cool technology. They carry different size shopping paper bags which you have to pay. There's also an Uniqlo app you can download on your phone to accumulate points. Right by the entrance are flowers and bouquets. Also they have a tailor service where you can hem pants that are too long. Pretty cool service.

Uniqlo used to be a great place to shop, but they have used the pandemic to cheap out on customer service. Now they want you to return stuff you order online to the warehouse instead of just allowing you to exchange or return in the store. They don't even provide a return sticker so it is very inconvenient to return online. So, after standing outside in the cold, waiting in line to get in, I got on another long line to return the items I purchased online, only to be turned away because they didn't have my size for an item I wanted to exchange. This will make me think twice before buying anything online. And now that they have made it difficult to get into a store also, I guess I just won't shop there anymore. Very bad customer service.

A cumbersome 'return application' process with a required printed return slip. In this digital and paperless age, really?
    Chiara M.

Think five times before ordering on Uniqlo online. You cannot bring items from your online order to a store to return, as one would think Uniqlo is also 'with the times' i.e. norm for EComm Customer experience, where an online order can be brought in-store to return aka Zara, Amazon, Madewell, CB2, H&M (the list goes on). As a Manhattanite, it's normal way of doing life and retail, especially in this city. And it gets better, the online return process is so unintuitive and complex that there's an extensive video/documentation posted of how to do it, see here (so you know what you're in for, should you want to return an online order).... https://faq-us.uniqlo.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/How-do-I-return-my-online-order. And of course, this complexity being a barrier of entry, and a way to for Uniqlo to keep the potential return $'s by this dark pattern i.e. making returns complex so people probably don't bother going through with it.. Note: it's even called a 'return application', and involves a mandatory printout that has to be enclosed. Hmm, very strange in this digital and paperless age, and who coined the term "return application" when trying to return two pairs of Heattech socks and leggings? I will take my business elsewhere, and will not be shopping at Uniqlo anymore, for the lack of transparency, a basic/core value of making customer experience easy, and for not being green (a forced/required step of a paper printout of the 'return application'). Purchases and returns are the every day basics of a retail business. I cannot imagine if a Customer had a more complex issue to resolve with Uniqlo, what would that look/experience be like? Yikes.

FIRE OR RETRAIN YOUR SECURITY GUARD…read more My boyfriend and I stopped by this store with one goal in mind: buy a couple of tshirts that only this store has. We ring the doorbell, as the sign says, and out comes the security guard who says the store is at capacity. My boyfriend looks over his shoulder and says there's only 5 people inside. To which the security guard replies "do you understand how shopping works?" ....... Um yes we do.... That's why we are trying to visit this store to buy a shirt....from a clothing store? He finally lets us in after someone leaves. The store now has 6 people total. We enter and immediately my boyfriend sees the shirts that he planned to buy. The shirts are in a plastic sleeve and he is only touching the fabric. He's not taking the shirt outside. The security guard comes over and tells him if he needs help. To which my boyfriend responses "no, I just wanted to know how the shirt felt". The security guard then says he can't take the shirt out of the packaging and my boyfriend responds "yeah I'm not." The security guard then calls a staff member to help my boyfriend out. Remember, this is a SECURITY GUARD. He's occupation and attention should be on managing the front door. We then speak with the staff and my boyfriend's asks for a size L and they say they only have a size M but he can try it on. And then proceeds to walk us to the back of the store and tell us to stand in line. My boyfriend and I are midway through the store and we are contemplating if we should wait in line. I'm not exaggerating when I say the security guard leaves his station and comes straight to boyfriend and then proceeds to tell him he can't be at the back of the store because they are at capacity. There's 4 people in the back! My boyfriend explains the staff brought us here and said to stand in line for the fitting room. The security guard then speaks over my boyfriends, says we can't be here and belittles him. Another staff member gets involved trying to deescalate the situation and says he's sorry. The security guard should have informed the staff if there was a policy in place. I sincerely ask him if this is a normal experience to be followed and harassed by a security guard? My boyfriend tells the security guard that he made shopping here very unpleasant. I cannot express enough to not come here. If you are looking to browse, or with any intention of buying, go somewhere else.
