While the staff was attentive with getting me an alternate size and providing insight on which size to get (like opting for a larger size to help limit creasing of the material), they boxed and sold me the wrong size. As in, the box said one size and the shoes inside were different. Not a big deal since I live a few blocks away but I see tourists in there all the time! How do I know? Trust me you can tell LOL. Anyway it would suck to be visiting and not be able to easily exchange them. I got a great pair of New Balance sneakers at a great price and they were shipped in 3 days!!

I wish I could give them negative stars. Their customer service is horrible and basically non-existent. I won a raffle for some $150, PLUS $15 shipping Air Force 1's on October 6th, was told I would get shipping updates ASAP, I never did. Reached out via email and was given a very generic response - "we are behind on fulfilment and some customers are experiencing unacceptable delays..." They also stated in the email that "remaining outstanding orders should be out within the next few days." So I waited a couple more days and still did not receive any updates. Contacted them via Instagram Tuesday October 11th and they gave the same generic response and stated that they are "making steady headway so we should have your order out in the next day or two." They were also VERY generous and offered me a 10% off discount code for my next order. I was definitely dissatisfied with their response and peace offering, but I decided to just keep waiting, since that's all I could do. I waited until Friday October 14th for an update, and still never received one. I contacted them via Instagram again asking for an update, never received one. On Saturday I contacted them again via Instagram and asked them for a refund because I was just tired of waiting and didn't even want the shoes anymore. Still have yet to receive any responses to any of my messages. I also tried calling one of their locations today October 17th, and of course received no answer. I try to be as understanding and as patient as possible, but the lack of communication is so frustrating and so unprofessional. Don't give me false hope that my order will be shipping soon, when you guys obviously have no intention in doing so. Extra butter is a notoriously sketchy sneaker store in the LES. W's from this location are practically unheard of and whispers of backdooring have grown into loud rumblings. It's a common occurrence to hear people discuss the flagrant and conspicuous practices of extra butter, which was why I was surprised to check my email and see a special invitation to pick up some Jordan 11s at extra butter. I take the walk and upon arrival I was surprised to see the condition of the store. It seems kind of musty dusty and dilapidated. It smelled old, and their theatre style chairs (which are kind of just in the way, and mess up the flow of the store) were visibly deteriorating. They don't have much of a selection to begin with. A lot of hypebeast basics (oh wow stone island sweatshirts!), and GR sneakers nobody picked up. The employees (like most sneaker store employees in NYC) act disinterested and behave like they're the doormen at some elite nightclub (gear checking you and judging you on your fit) I think actual product knowledge would be a great addition to whatever if any training they receive before going out onto the sales floor. Anyway I show them my raffle email and wait, and wait, and wait. Eventually they let me know that the 13 was gone (backdoored to a friend) and the best they could do was offer me a 14. It was insulting at best. I would avoid this store all together if you're looking to enjoy your shopping experience. read more

While Farabe was looking around I was talking to the person behind the concession stand. They were very friendly and explained why there was theater seats and the store layout. The item was completely intact but there was an issue with it due to a manufacturer defect. I notified Extra Butter and they responded quickly and we discussed the issue and they provided me with multiple options. I selected one that was best for both of us and when executing the option they even went above any beyond what we had talked about. Amazing. So the moral of the story (review) is that true character is not found when shops just sell you an item and send you on your way. This is the sneaker store that the LES needed for a long time. My go to sneaker store for all these years has been Richie's on Delancey. It's still pretty good, but this store offers something different. Inside, you will find cinema style seats and concessions toward the back of the store. The concessions range from cold brew coffee to ring pops. Additionally, they have solid perfume from Japan. The selection of sneakers is amazing. They have different styles. I have been fortunate to purchase two styles, which have both been head turners. I literally have people asking me where I get my sneakers each time I step out of my apartment. The five star experience comes from the people who work here. They are all very nice and helpful. They definitely know their brand knowledge and can help you with your sneaker needs. I live around the block from KITH and although that's a known sneaker joint, I would rather travel the distance to this shop. read more
