As someone who extensively reads through reviews and is selective about what services I pay for, I can absolutely 100% recommend Heavenly Auto Care. On the phone, I spoke with Hermes who is a genuinely nice, honest person and very knowledgeable and professional. I explained to him that I previously brought my car to the dealer due to getting a dashboard alert for a brake system malfunction. Per the dealer, I was told I needed to replace the master cyclinder and get a brake fluid flush. The dealer's quoted repair estimate was ~$1,746. They also recommended a few routine maintenance things (i.e., replacing the front/rear wipers and the cabin/engine air filters). If I were to have gone through the dealer, for parts and labor, it would've cost ~$307! Hermes took the time to explain to me in detail the possible causes for my car's brake issue (it was very interesting and informative) and the break down of the costs. The quote he gave me for the brakes was MORE THAN HALF the price of the price estimate I got from the dealer! Hermes took the time to look up my car, its specifications to get more accurate quotes for parts, etc.; and shared lots of helpful tips to save money on my car. He effectively communicated with me by calling and updating me about when to expect the ordered parts and when they had arrived at the shop. I also appreciated the flexibility allowed in me choosing when I could bring my car in. On the day of, Hermes was friendly, professional, very knowledgeable, and very helpful-- as I had experienced him on the phone. He explained everything very clearly, took the time to explain things so I was informed and aware (I learned a lot from him!), was transparent about pricing, and gave a bunch of helpful tips and advice. The shop also got my car worked on and finished hours before I had expected. I am so appreciative of his honesty, willingness to help, patience in explaining/teaching me, and his thoughtful feedback and expertise. The folx at the shop were similarly pleasant and hard-working. He was honest about what work was actually necessary versus what could wait, which immediately built trust. The next day, I went back and waited while Hermes and Morgan diagnosed my car. I dropped by to get a quote for some preventative maintenance that I was getting done on my Honda Odyssey EXL minivan. I had printed out the things I wanted done mainly because I had just acquired the vehicle several months earlier and in reviewing its history of maintenance by the previous owners I saw there were some things that needed to be done that had never been done. So I made a list of having the timing belt replace the serpentine belt replace the water pump replaced the rollers and tensioners for both the serpentine belt and the timing belts replaced. So when I dropped in with the list they very nicely offered to give me the cost and contact me with the total. I explained to them that I was retired on social security so I really did need to know what the out the door amount would be for just having those specific things replaced. Not too long later that day I got a text as I had requested of the complete total out the door and it was quite reasonable. Anyway a few weeks later I made the appointment for the preventative maintenance just the week before when I was going to bring it by. The service was excellent and I will tell you one of the most wonderful things about this place is you step inside their repair facility and it's like stepping into the family owned repair garages that I knew when I was a kid and a young fellow. They are far and few between nowadays and it was wonderful to actually find this one. They found two small nails in there, patched it up, paid $30 and be on my way. They would drop their current project and work on your car while you wait. If it's a minor thing, they would fix it right away. If it's a major issue, they you might have to leave your car there. I haven't had any issues with them since I first bought my car in. I would definitely recommend them if you need a minor fix up or something checked.

Okay, truth be told, I never actually brought my car in. I called them because my check engine…read morelight on my 1991 Mercedes 420SEL was on. I needed to get it looked at because it was due for Smog. I talked to a guy named Eddie to see if they could take a look. Mind you, I called 2 other places and they told me they don't work on cars that old. Eddie said he'd decode the check engine light for me. Apparently there's no OBD port on this car, so decoding the check engine light is not as easy as plugging in a tool, or so I was told. Long story short, he said if I was only concerned about passing Smog, I should try disconnecting the battery to clear the check engine light, then just bring it to Smog Check Center to see if it passes. Lo and behold the car PASSED! Next time I actually do need service for this car, I'm definitely bringing it in to Eddie and European Motor Werks. 5 stars for giving me some free, useful, advice and saving me a ton of time.

They finally came around 2:00 PM, but even after that, the installation still hadn't started. I understand that delays can happen, but I don't understand why customers' time isn't respected. Waiting over an hour after arriving for a scheduled appointment, with little communication or progress, is frustrating and unnecessary. I hope they improve their scheduling and communication so future customers don't have the same experience.

There's nothing worse than not having a trusted mechanic in your life. So, I happened to be talking to a friend and he recommended Tom & Jack's. I said, what do you like about them, and the first word out of his mouth was, integrity! That was all I needed to hear. So Wednesday I drove by and talked to Jack who told me to come in on Friday morning. So I arrived right when they opened, and told Jack what my car needed, and he said he would check it out and get back to me with his results and an estimate. 90 minutes later, I got my call, and everything sounded good to me, so I told Jack to proceed. By 2:30, I got the call that my car was ready and for me to come and pick it up. Jack changed my oil, all filters, spark plugs, transmission fluid and radiator fluid and gave my car a complete brake job including new rotors and rotated the tires. You must understand that the car did need all of those things, which is why I brought it in. Jack was completely up front with everything without pushing or trying to make a sale.
