Unique Cakes by Miss Margaret is one of the gems of Pine Bluff, AR. Whenever I'm in town I make this place one of my MUST visit places. She has always had the best cupcakes I've ever tasted and they're ALWAYS true to taste! In addition to her many styles and flavors of cupcakes, she has added ice cream and sandwiches. The ice cream is dairy-free and sugar-free but you cannot tell....it is SO delicious! As always, service is impeccable, the ambience is sort of old-fashioned ice cream parlor. Stopped by this adorable, vintage-inspired sweet shop in downtown Pine Bluff. What an unexpected, pleasant surprise as I was walking around admiring the old, historic landscapes and architect in this town with so much important history. This cute shop caught my eye immediately and I was not disappointed as I opened the door and immediately caught the smells that had my mouth watering and my eyes lighting up. I was drawn right away to the large, colorful cupcakes in the window that here in the South, we would describe as *fancy*. I'm going to assume that was Miss Margaret behind the counter who so graciously brought out the whole line of cupcakes she was in the process of putting up. I'm pretty sure I came by later than the business hours that were posted on their door. And if you are not Miss Margaret, I apologize but please give her my highest regards I regret now not hearing all of the flavors she started to mention. I remember hearing a strawberry daiquiri but everything else stopped when I heard Wedding Cake. I told her to say no more, or say less as I hear my kids say now. I know these ppl are good ppl because I'm assuming she heard my convo with my husband as I said I didn't bring my card with me and asked him if he had any money because she asked me how much I had and my only assumption was that she was going to give me a cupcake even if I didn't have the appropriate amount. Y'all...this is one of the reasons I am so drawn to places like this and would love to move and live in such a warm, authentic community like I believe Pine Bluff still is. If my husband hadn't been smoking his cigar (gross!!), we would have both gotten a cupcake and sat inside at the ice cream parlor style tables and chairs and eaten them. But since he was outside and since I also felt like I might have caught them at closing time, I took my cupcake to go. And that seemed to be no problem either as they put my cupcake artwork into a cupcake shaped, hard plastic container that kept my anticipated morsel safe from harm. When I finally got to sit down and eat my wedding cake cupcake, im pretty sure my husband worried I would replace his pet name Cupcake with an actual edible cupcake. I couldn't hide how much this cupcake not only did not disappoint me but also how much it exceeded my expectations. The cake part of this cupcake was dense and heavy. Not flaking and falling apart like a lot of cupcakes are. This was a high quality work of love. This was premium ingredients. This was the way my nanny's ( my grandmother) cakes felt and tasted. This was love, time, effort and attention. This reminded me of the $60 king cake I got recently that was unlike and better than any king cake I'd ever had. It was like a mix between a dense, heavy sweet bread and a cake. I wish tastes, smells and textures could be shared over the Internet because baby, you've gotta try these cupcakes!!! You could tell the icing was also that same high quality, time spent, homemade icing that always beats anything you could ever find in a supermarket. I was too enthralled with my cupcake as I walked out with it and a menu but later once I had drifted back down to reality, my husband was telling me something about Miss Margaret also offering burgers and fries amongst other delicious things. I can say with certainty that we will definitely be visiting Miss Margaret's again very soon and I am looking forward to trying out several other food delights this jewel offers! ( I kinda made a pun since there was a jewel on my wedding cupcake ) I can't believe I didn't take a picture of the cupcake before I shoved it into my mouth but that shows you the effect it had on my ability to think clearly read more

I just want to start off, saying that Mrs.Margaret is very sweet, just like her cupcakes. She is very giving. Idk if she remembers us but we've been taking her cupcakes to out reaches around the city of pine bluff for years and she always gives a few extra to bless the people an boy are they.. The kids come back for more .. they always say can I take one to my Mama or my cousin or my dad or my granny Mrs.Margaret Is passionate & patient with those trying to figure out which flavor they want it takes a minute because each one is super fantastic they are glorious wow you won't get homemade old fashion cupcakes anywhere else THEY ARE MADE WITH LOVE.. they are so good my kids want me to bring some home to LA lol I was late last visit got there right when she was headed for the door with keys in hand she opened the door and welcomed me in even though everything was put away I tried to tell her I'd come back but she said please it's ok come in get what you need , she is always accommodating and we've order huge orders on the fly they are a hit everywhere so if your looking for your grannies cupcakes this is the place The cake & the frosting are both THE BEST IN TOWN .. This place is the Queen and King of CUPCAKES and Ms. Margaret does all of her baking herself. Ms. Margaret has a local business that she furnishes over 900 cupcakes per week to as well as any community and downtown events also has naches with chili and cheese and a Miss PAC MAN MACHINE. She did our wedding cake for us years ago, with cupcakes to serve guests, and they were phenomenal! She was so kind to us, that now my husband and I always go to see her when we are in town. Miss Margaret is a wonderful lady with amazing cupcakes. She has made every birthday cake for me for about 4-5 years and I have loved every single one of them. I would definitely recommend her bakery if you're near the area and get the opportunity to. It's in a great location, about a 3-5 minute walk from the courthouse. Also her tea is mouth watering.
