Overpriced! My first experience at getting braids. Cost $300. They were poorly designed and too small. I did communicate with braider prior to her beginning. I had to return next day to have it cut and styled. Cost $60. I returned to have it taken down months later and I was charged $100. I should have read the reviews. Not going back!! read more

She is very sweet! I haven't been in awhile because I've been rocking braids all summer and have another stylist for that, but when I came today she knew exactly who I was and even asked about my little girl (who is also a client). UNBELIEVABLE !!!! I get to the salon this morning looking for a braider for my 13 yr old daughter. The lady who let me into the locked salon said she would call someone to come in. Cool, we wait in the car for 30 mins. The stylist gets here, no hello to me or the kid whose hair she's about to braid. First ! Then she says you don't have the hair yet, and did you already shampoo her hair ? Second ! The braider takes me next door to buy hair and I asked her how much for the braids and she tells me she doesn't know. Ok can you find out ? She continued to say "just get the hair" Third ! We are on our way back next door and this woman tells me to hurry up because she has to pick up her son at 2 PM. IT WAS ALREADY 1:20 !!!! I said there was no way you can finish in time, and she says "well just come back tomorrow" like WTF ?????? Lady !!!! I waited on you to get here, and this is how you treat a potential long term, paying, great tipping customer ???? The woman who let us in even asked her why did she come. I love Unique creations in McDonough I've been there on multiple occasions and gotten my hair silk pressed and I got twists there!!!! They do a great job and are reasonably priced . I'd def go back . They also throw in a hair shampoo when getting something done to your hair! read more

The salon advertised that they could do natural hair. That was not true. I went in for a wash and go my stylist started detangling my hair dry, which should never have been done. She did not give me a wash and go but as bad twist out. The owner did offer to fix my hair and another stylist did my hair. It looks good after she did it however I was sent out of the salon with soaking wet hair. Even though it was a wash and go, I've never heard of a salon sending you out with wet hair. You would normally get difussed or sit under a wet dryer. The style did not last 24 hours once my hair was dry. I paid $90 for a style that did not last and the first stylist Britney cause damage to my hair, it is broken in several spots from her dry detangling. Stay away from the salon if you're looking for natural hair care because they cannot do it. This was a horrible experience. read more

I'm indifferent which means I won't be coming back. This is my second time to this salon and it will probably be my last. Overall, I'm not super impressed. Punctuality - non existent. Each time I made, and confirmed, an appointment I arrived at or before my appointment time to wait in the lobby area for an additional 45min- 1 hour past my appointment time to be serviced. Service - This is hit or miss. The first time I came, I was not greeted, no one checked on me, and stylists were talking about each other in front of and around the guests. This time when I came, they had a new receptionist who greeted me. The shampoo woman was nice, though heavy handed on the scrub. The stylist, Tanesha was nice. She made sure to confirm the services I wanted performed and explained what I should do to care for my hair for the take down (I got Bantu knots for the first time). Appearance - Average hair salon look and feel. There is a common room For the shampoo bowls and hair steamers. A smaller common area for the hair dryers. An open space where 4-5 stylists sit on the front and 3-4 back rooms for stylists as well. My specific services. my first time, I came for a silk press which was $65 with the hydration steamer. The second time I came in for Bantu knots w/ hydration, trim, and hot oil treatment. This totaled to $80. Overall, this isn't anything that I can't do on my own. Everyone except 2 or 3 of the stylists seems really novice which I don't like. If you go on they're site to book you see the same 2/3 stylists booked constantly. If you go, go with them. Don't let the few bad reviews throw you off. This is one of the best salons I've ever been to. My appointment was at 12pm but I came early expecting to have to wait. My hair was washed, steamed, blow dried, and silk pressed by 1:30pm and I have very dense hair. My stylist was Tia(?) and she's very good at what she does. It felt as if I had another me doing my hair, she took the time to gently comb through it, so the process was painless. I recommend getting the steam treatment because it left my hair so shiny and healthy looking. Usually when I get my hair straightened it's stiff, but my hair blows in the wind and I can't stop flipping it! I love this place, I'll definitely be coming back. FIVE STARS! read more

Only gave 4 stars because they are very pricey. I usually go to Dominican salons for a wash and set and decided to do something different. Here they do a good deep conditioner steam treatment blow dry and flat iron. I came in with my curly frizzy hair in one big knot and walked out with shiney healthy looking hair! read more

I am usually not a reviewer but I must for this place!! I have been searching high and low for a nice clean and professional salon in this area. I came across, did some research and went ahead and made an appt. But must admit was still a little hesitant, from the other reviews posted. I think this place is a diamond, the staff is a little young but they do a great job!! My stylist was Dominique, she was friendly, nice and truly took time to untangle my VERY thick course hair!! I came out looking AMAZING. MY hair is shinny, healthy and still has the original curls that were put in. She clipped my ends but saved as much length as possible. I cannot stop playing with my hair!! I recommend this place and especially the stylist. I will definitely be returning. read more

This is a follow-up to the post I made back in January 2017. I paid this salon for an all-over color touch up and a silk press. I received a wash and flat-iron to the tune of $80. They are a rip-off and anyone on here posting otherwise is likely an employee, friend, relative, or paid professional poster. I own a large marketing research firm and know companies like this one hire others to balance out their low ratings. When I saw the stylist doing a flat-iron on my hair, I brought it to her attention because I've been wearing the silk press long enough to know the technique and even know how to do it on my own hair, so I know I got taken. It's been a month since I went to this salon and now I've just gone to another salon (a hair school). Just as I suspected, the school confirmed that absolutely NO color had been added to my roots in quite some time. I had nearly TWO INCHES of new growth that had no color and the hair school had to mix two bowls just to cover my new growth. The color, a trim and a silk press at this school was only $50, and an instructor stood by the entire time. If I could give this salon negative stars, I would. I believe that they cheat customers who speak up about being treated badly. (I had told them about their bad telephone manners before getting my hair done and watched as they whispered about me while I was there). I read another post where a lady spoke up about having to wait beyond her appointment and they punished her, too. What the owner is failing to realize is that she is licensed by the State and lying about services while accepting money for an undelivered service is dangerous to that license. Keep on playing that game because enough posts about the same thing will lead the State right to you! Because we can't ALL be lying about the same thing. read more

I tried this place after reading some mixed reviews and I must say that I will not be coming back. Although my sew- in turned out okay I do not believe it is $300 worthy(which included the hair). The hair itself is about average. Would've been better off just getting my own hair from the beauty supply store. The staff was ok some were interactive others not so much which made it a little awkward. Once I checked out I recieved a call 2 hours later saying they forgot to charge me for my hair(so in that breath please bring your own hair)that wasnt my fault and why would you wait that long to realize your all mistake. I called them back was on hold for over 10mins then they offered a 20% discount. Being the good person I am I paid. But they don't have to worry about me being a customer again. read more

I finally found a great healthy hair salon for my daughter! We have had issues with other salons because they did not know how to properly style natural hair. This salon is the BEST at natural hair and had my daughter looking beautiful for her job interview. Once my wife saw my daughter's hair she also became a loyal client. I went to this place after reading the mixed reviews on line. I had a wig made and it is terrible. The owner made it and another stylist braided my hair, and sewed the wig around the edges of my hair. i paid over three hundred dollars for the service. I will never go back to this place. It is over priced "rip-off" I was not pleased with the overall service or the wig. The hair tangles. I would not take my dog to this place. Go at your own risk. Really impressed by the level off professionalism, experience, and consideration that I found here. I stopped in in an emergency and right away Tish was available to give me a natural style. She was very knowledgeable and patient when I decided to get a silk press instead. She handled my hair so gently, I can tell she specializes in natural hair. The price was comparable to other salons and the atmosphere is very modern and chic. I will definitely return. So glad to find a salon like this so close to home. My appointment was for 730, it was rescheduled to 8, which wasnt a problem. She actually texted to make sure I got the notification. I truly appreciated the professionalism in that. She did a great job. I was in & out of there. I got a wash, condition, & silk press in less than 45 minutes. & they're reasonably priced. It was less than what I usually pay. This was my first time visiting with Unique Creations. I was worked in after being stood up by a high end stylist in Atlanta. They were able to get me a 1:00 appt. I got to the salon at 12:30 and the young lady immediately started on my wash and hydration treatment. Treshonda my stylist got right to my silk press and listened to my concerns. She examined my hair and gave me a cut that has my hair so healthy looking and full of life. I will surely go back because there was no waiting for over booked clients and the stylist did exactly what I wanted for my hair. read more

Had a strand test here back in early October. It went well, book a color for the week after, didnt take how I wanted it to. Went back a week later - was told that I didnt have to wait 6 wks to recolor the parts that were missed. I should have went with my gut feeling. 3 years of growing my hair out all natural to have to start all over again! I now have 4-6" of straight end pieces.. my curly pattern is all gone! So much for my wash & go, and curly ponytail days. Use good judgment; natural hair is very sensitive! read more

I agree with the other posts, I wish I read them also before I went last week. It's not all it's cracked up to be. The atmosphere is nice, but I am not all that satisfied with my outcome. I left happy but was so unhappy with what I woke up to with my hair the very next day, I am not returning....all I wanted was to have my hair more manageable to I can spend less time on it, and I explained that in my consultation. The staff were very nice and my hair turned out great. However, I am natural and tender header. I told her that I was tender head but she had no knowledge on how to comb out natural hair without hurting someone. Plus my hair felt really weighed down. I went here for a sew-in around the middle of September and was told there was a sale on the hair AND it would be included into the price of the sew-in. Once I actually got there for my appointment they told me that wasn't the case and charged a separate fee for each bundle PLUS the installation charge ($125 plus the hair they sell which I cannot remember). No problem. My stylist was friendly and I felt pretty comfortable, however, my hair (very curly) and the extensions did not match too well and that might be of my own fault but as "experienced stylists" they should know how to blend better. She STRAIGHTENED and then attempted to curl my leave out with the hair and it was a hot mess. About two weeks later tracks were falling out (especially in the back) and I needed "maintenance" ... This was around my birthday so I did not mind it. I was told it would be $65 and that was totally fine. I was washed, "tightened and styled" (I use that very sarcastically) and I had her add In a bundle at the top because I wanted more volume ... By the end of my appointment I was not very happy but kept a smile because I did not want to ruin my own day. Unfortunately, my stylist failed to mention the FEE for sewing a new bundle in and I ended yp paying $90 for maintenance and $85 for the new bundle. I basically paid for a whole sew-in again. I was very angry and I will absolutely not be coming back again. My hair barely lasted a month and that is very sad for all the money I paid. As a business, they fail at communication and customer service. They're charging high-end Atlanta prices for back-road hair. I understand the work and dedication that goes into this profession but if you cannot make sure your customers are fully aware of things and satisfied ON TOP OF THAT then you might want to reconsider what you are charging. read more

I wish I had read both of these reviews prior to getting my hair done here. I asked for havana twist. Three different girls twisted up my hair. One even went in the back to get a different length of hair even though I had 5 bags out of 10 left. I was getting married and wanted a natural hair look and when they were done it was a nightmare. It looked like a 4 year old played in my hair. I shouldn't have paid for the service, but it was late and I was tired and wasn't looking to fight. I took my hair down the next morning and purchased a wig. To add insult to injury the guy who checked me out at the register asked if I wanted to add a tip to the service... I did give a $20 tip because the three girls were young (high school/college). I have pictures of the nightmare to share. Do not go to this salon. It's a pretty book cover with a catchy introduction, but you will throw the book in the trash!!! Hire EXPERIENCED hair braiders!!!! I will say I watched one stylist do maintenance, wash and style on a customers sew in and the results were gorgeous. Maybe sew ins are their thing. Don't go for braids or twist styles. read more
