She has an incredible eye for design and we were grateful for her guidance. I didn't need much in the way of fabric for my wedding, but what she had, nailed it. Yara had a wide selection of colors, material, and fittings for the covers. She took the time to listen to how I wanted the room to look, paid attention to the details I wanted in the chair tie and uplighting, and on the day of the wedding everything looked great. We had UDE for our decor and florals for our Indian wedding, and Yara with UDE was really wonderful. She was such a pleasure to work with and is well versed in wedding design and decor. UDE really made our wedding come to life and look the way we wanted! To begin with, they graciously moved wedding dates with us two times due to the pandemic. Yara met with us in person and over Zoom to help us design a couple different features for our Indian wedding including the traditional mandap and phoolon ki chadaar. She was very responsive and sent me sketches and photos of everything beforehand, and when we had to make a change to the mandap design about a month before the wedding, she worked quickly to do so. She also took the time to really understand what I wanted for everything in terms of colors and color schemes for the florals and my bridal bouquet, and even with our wedding being rescheduled from a Spring to a Fall wedding she got the florals to be exactly what we wanted. Everything we had set up on the day of the wedding was truly stunning and exactly what we wanted and imagined including the mandap, ceiling drapes, bridal canopy, and table settings. Everything was set up in a very timely fashion on the day of. We are so confused that the other reviewer had such a positive experience with Yara and Unique Design and Events, since our experience was the opposite. We had an awful time working with this company from the beginning. Yara was extremely difficult to get in touch with and was very poor at returning phone calls, messages, and emails. She was even difficult to communicate with when we were trying to pay her part of our balance! We used her for a wedding and asked for chair covers and ties. The color of the ties was way off from what we expected; however, this is not her fault at all, as we were unable to meet in person with her prior to the event. What was most disappointing was the quality of her work. A very large majority of the chair ties were falling off of the chairs and/or untied early into the reception! We were upset with this, as it is going to show in the background of many of our wedding photos :( Overall, I would definitely NOT recommend this vendor to anyone. I wish I would have used my friend's linens and asked family or friends to help decorate the room. read more

Yara is completely unprofessional as a business owner. The first time my fiance visited the store, the employee failed to send an invoice to my fiance after their meeting. My fiance was forced to call a month later to retrieve it. Then, my fiance spoke directly with Yara and set up an appointment to meet with her on a Saturday morning. We showed up for our scheduled appointment and no one was there. In fact, the store was not even open at all. We waited 45 mintues and tried calling the store several times. No one ever showed up for our scheduled appointment, so we left in disgust. We had drove 45 mintues out to their location only to have wasted our time and gas. Having left a phone message, we assumed Yara would call us back that day to explain. However, she never did call us. She made no attempt to contact us to let us know that no one would be there for our appointment. She did not even have the decency to call us to apologize afterwards. Instead, she merely sent an e-mail days later explaining that she neglected our appointment to satisfy another customer. After receiving her e-mail explaining why she neglected our appointment, we forwarded her e-mail to our wedding venue and wedding planner. They both stated that is was unacceptable and that they would no longer recommend Unique Design & Events to any of their clients. read more
