My girlfriend and her friend always come to the gym and they love it but recently they've been scared to go because there is a staff member that cleans that stares at them inappropriately looking at their butt and making faces besides that the gym is amazing. Owners rude my vehicle was broken into because staff allowed a random person to walk in and steal my keys from the locker room. Owner placed blame on me and stated I would never own a business. Great customer service. In your reply you stated i left my locker unsecured but kindly forget to mention your staff allowed a random person to enter your establishment & enter the locker room where more than my things could have been stolen. read more

Bev Francis. The Shop. Strength & Body. Unique Fitness belongs in the category of top tier gyms I have visited. Unique is one of the best, if not THE best (sorry Bev). The equipment is in top notch condition and we are talking PLENTY of it! Hoist, Hammer strength, Cybex and LifeFitness pieces to name a few. I grew up on the Island (now in SC), so come back to visit family periodically and came to Unique on a family recommendation. My workout happened on a Tuesday late morning (11-12:30) and even though the count of members was probably 90+ there was no lack of equipment. The only improvement I could suggest to the place is to relabel their dumbbell racks. About 1/2 of the dumbbells were placed incorrectly, which I'd love to blame on the members, but on closer inspection it could be improved with better labeling. Don't zig-zag your weights. Either that or split up your racks. Looking forward to tomorrow's leg day. read more

I've been working out here for several years and I love this gym. Great atmosphere, always clean, friendly staff, the daycare is phenomenal! They have all the equipment you could possibly want and a great schedule of classes if that's what you're looking for. Sauna, locker rooms...always clean. My only critique would be that gym staff should walk the gym once an hour and put weights away, unload plates from machines, etc that lazy members leave behind. read more

This has become my home away from home. I was nervous coming back but they go above clean. Ceaser is the best trainer and his team is on point. Everyone stays six feet apart and cleans before and after Friendly attentive staff makes sure no one comes in with out a mask and they will politely ask you to pull the mask up if it slides down. read more

Super clean at all times. Staff is great. Last star is taken off cause the Jumbotron is pretty stagnant in its programming. Shirley has TVs. Maybe stream a corner of current events on that thing. Other than that I'm a huge fan of the place. read more

Scam artists. Called to speak about freezing my membership for a month and they said I could do it on the phone. Did it on the phone and got charged for the month anyways. Manager didn't offer a refund, horrible service. read more

Although I dont like to come here after 10am (this place gets PACKED) they do a very good job of keeping their machines/locker room clean. I like coming in the morning, less people and its usually being cleaned in the AM so it smells nice (much better than the smell of sweat) The sauna is GREAT. Most daunas have a sign up saying not to use water, this one just asks you not to overdue it. The room is always Hot Hot Hot. I have 2 gym memberships (here and LA fitness (basically just cause LA has a pool)) and this place is always a pleasure (again in the morning) Oh and the staff are nice too. read more

Just joined the extreme membership. Kristians classes are the reason I joined. I feel it in my body after class and know I'm going to reach my goals. I just did Chris copes kickboxing and am glad i joined because this class was intense and great too. Glad I finally joined and will make the most of this month so I see results! read more

I love to exercise at unique fitness. It's a very big gym. All staff members are all very friendly. The gym is kept very clean all the time. I love all the classes. The classes I take are the Zumba, kickboxing, buns and guns, step class, spin class and the Warriors workout class. The instructors are all awesome. Give a class a try you will love them too. read more

I have been a member here since they opened, needless to say today will be the last time I am here. There has never been any issue other then dirty equipment or equipment always being broken at times which is a normal gym problem...I spend a lot of money to come to this gym to receive such poor customer service, they didn't bother asking a manager if they could do anything. My yearly membership expired 5 days ago unfortunately I had no idea, maybe an email to the customer to let them know would be nice. I asked if they could let me go In today since I had nothing on me and would have to drive all the way back home, and I'd be In tomorrow and would just pay for another year... I've been there for three years. Not to mention three times a week for the most part so they see me. Not only did the receptionists make me feel embarrassed they were just down right rude. I heard them mocking me to the next guest as I left... During our conversation they asked if I wanted to pay 10$ for a day ... clearly not understanding I had nothing on me otherwise I would have renewed my membership ... I have been a loyal customer for three years. This was just poor customer service and I will be looking for a new gym and not returning. Really sad because I know so many people there and I will make sure to let them know my experience. When you pay 400$+ for a gym you would think they would do the right thing by you. read more

I can't say enough about this gym! The trainers are awesome! Jordyn and I have been training for over a year now, since I've moved to Mastic...She's always beyond accommodating with her hours, and kicks my butt, and in addition answers all of my questions. This gym is always spotless, which is a big plus for me, I'm sure everyone can agree. The group classes and teachers are extremely motivating and totally get in your head, no matter what kind of day your having. On Sunday, 7/22/2018, around 6:15 a.m. I was at the gym and I went to do the treadmill. I wanted to wipe off the machine, I went to one dispenser and it was empty. and I preceded to a second, the same. I then went to the front desk, where two employees were standing around and informed them of the situation. I received no response and a deer in the headlight look back . I shook my head and went to work out. I wiped the machine with my face towel. Later, I went to a squat machine and it had 650 pounds of weight on it. I am over 60, are you kidding! At that time in the morning many people are older. This is a regular occurrence of large amounts of weights being left on. I have twice told the front desk. All it would take is someone taking a stroll around the gym. Believe me, I am not the only one who notices it. The only staff person I can say works hard is Giovanna the weekly morning cleaning lady. My husband and I pay over $700 a year and really I do not think it is expecting much. By the way, when I left 2 hours later the dispensers were still empty, customers were pouring their water on the rough paper towels, and the weights was still on the machine. read more

One of the newer gyms on the island. They offer a free three day pass to try out the facilities. Has a good amount of cardio equipment and machines and even a crossfit section in the back behind the MMA octagon. Yes they have an MMA ring inside the gym with professional instructors on staff. The MMA, boxing and kickboxing classes are part of a different membership package that does cost more money but if that's your thing then it may be worth a try. Other than that if you sign up all other classes such as spinning, zumba, yoga etc. are at your disposal. They also offer child care in your member fees, check their website for exact hours. The locker rooms are big and spacious and they have saunas which is an excellent feature. Open 7 days a week early and stay open late which is great if you work crazy hours. I've never belonged to a gym prior to Unique Fitness. I love this place. It's clean, the clientele is respectful and the staff very helpful. I was lucky enough to meet Jay, who is now my personal trainer. He is knowledgeable, committed and actually makes me excited to get in shape. His enthusiasm is infectious and he knows just how far to push me. My favorite thing about Jay is that he doesn't just work me, he explains what we're doing and why. Finally a gym that has everything and I don't have to get on highways , it's impeccably clean and staff is so friendly the classes, every one of them are great , the trainers are so so nice and Spin classes can not be beat!!! great gym staff is awesome! the equipment is great too. the only thing is it would be better if they were 24 hours. my first gym membership started here and its nice and close to my fire dept when duty calls. for the most part its pretty clean. however sometimes the garbage pails overflow and if you need wipes or paper towels sometimes you gotta grab em quick cuz they run out fast haha. other than that this gym is excellent for all age groups. i never have any other issues. however they are a little expensive but its all about making it worth it. i recommend unique! read more

Awful. Great equipment and that's it. Men's room always a mess. You can get a whiff of the nastiness just by walking by. The music especially on Friday night is so freakin loud and obnoxious its ridiculous. Who the hell blasts club music at a gym like a concert? Can't even hear my OWN music on my headphones. Then there's always the idiot guy that hits the speed bag literally 45-60 minutes every night. Smh read more

HORRIBLEEEE....always packed and you have to wait to use weights and machines. Also their membership contracts are inaccurate. Don't call it a yearly membership if your going to continue charging me after the year is up. They also have terrible cancelation rules. I feel soooo scammed. read more

I was in the neighborhood and was itching for a quick late workout.. & this place blew my mind. You guys have everything I need and would look for in a workout (especially the fight section) ! I was helped by Michael Markland ASAP and he put me on to a 7 day free trial and told me all about the boxing / martial art classes that I could attend.
