I never wrote reviews but I got really disrespected from coming in for my appointment. Emily is good friends with my mother but today she really was very beyond rude to me. I'm the daughter of my mom that Emily is close with. When I came in! She gets up and starts to say "what do you want to do?" I reply back that "I want only white and to go shorter" she comes and says that "I'm confused, and can't speak well." She starts to say that "if I want only to cut only and no paint, and no refill." Which made me nervous and kept saying "ummm" nervously. She kept getting a little annoyed because I kept saying "umm" which I just want to cut shorter and get white only. My mom made an appointment for me to get refills. She knows what I'm getting. What got me upset is when my mother came in the lady started to laugh like it's funny I can't speak well as she points out. She told my mom that I can't speak and kept saying "umm". I was just nervous and confused about what was going on. My nails aren't even good at all. She did my nails that aren't even at all. Some are square like sharp square but others aren't even square at all. Especially, don't come there because she told me that she doesn't care about my feelings. The way she said it was beyond disgusting! I never seen bad behavior with a nail tech. She really is rude and will be losing her customers of how she is! Today, she lost 4 people at the same time! She thought I was gonna hit her like I'm not a type of person who fights. I was trying to express how I felt uncomfortable. She really didn't care about me, or any customers feelings just her business! Don't waste your time coming to a place that you'll get mad disrespected for no reason! Do not go here!!! I went in for a gel mani/pedi, and the gel color I received did not match the sample colors I chose from, and the quality of the polish is really low. Even after specifically asking to only see gel colors with matching polish, the colors looked nothing like the samples or each other. My mani lasted less than a week before it started peeling. On top of that, the manager (Emily) who did my nails was extremely unprofessional and rude. When I asked her to fix an error she made she became extremely passive aggressive, telling me she knew what she was doing. If so why did my nails last for only 2 days? From some of the other reviews, it seems like this is normal behavior from her when someone gives her feedback or criticism on a service they are paying for. Unique Nail is always a go-to for me, even though I don't regularly get my nails done. I used to go to Emily, the owner, who is so talented, professional and friendly, but always busy. This time, I made an appointment over the phone, which I highly recommend since they are usually busy, so I made an appointment with whoever had time. I got a gel manicure done by Michelle, while I got a regular pedicure done by Nina. I am ALWAYS busy on the weekends (trying to start a business, while working my day job during the week) so I was so glad they were able to work on my nails at the same time, it sped up the process exponentially! I was in and out of there within an hour. Overall, Michelle did an INCREDIBLE job on my gel manicure, she was meticulous and made sure to carefully apply the coats. Nina also did a great job on my pedicure. I will always go back to Unique Nail, especially for gel manicure, because now, I feel confident to trust anyone who works there with a gel manicure. Well, I can't say everyone, because I haven't had a gel done by everyone, but I can at least trust Michelle and Emily. I highly recommend Unique Nail, but I have a few suggestions for going there: 1. ALWAYS make an appointment, because although they DO take walk-ins, you may be waiting awhile! 2. Bring cash for tip (I learned that the hard way) 3. Be nice! I never write reviews. I have been coming here for a while and see Emily for sns regularly. Usually my experiences here have been perfect Sure I may have to wait 30 min here and there after my scheduled appointment but I do not mind as I considered myself a loyal customer. Today wasn't one of those experiences. I had a 1pm appointment, got there on time, and had to wait about 15min. That's fine that's usually the norm. When Emily started on my nails she apologized explaining the lady before me was 35min late because she couldn't find a babysitter. I explained to her it was ok... life happens. She continued my manicure but was working extremely fast and rushed through all the normal steps. I understand she was trying to catch up for missed time but at a certain point she should've rescheduled. My nails were nowhere near even, my paint job was splotchy, and she cut me with her electronic nail file because of how rushed she was. Now, still not having complained, I sat there waiting to pay examining my nails. She notices and asked if I wanted a microscope - I clearly didn't need one, the errors were obvious without one and I asked her to fix a simple error or if its easier for HER I could come back for touch ups. She took this comment extremely offensive and argued "why?! They're perfect" I answered back for a fast job they aren't bad (normally she takes 45min to an hour. Today about 25min in total). She got even more pissed and started arguing I told her look ...im not complaining I'm just saying you were running behind today and rushing and next time just call and ask if I can reschedule. No big deal. She came back to me asking for my number so she knows to call me because " I'm so sophisticated and need 2hrs for her." Sophisticated?! Wtf does that have to do with me wanting my nails to represent how much I'm spending on them. I pointed out that I knew she was rushing because she even cut me. I showed her and she denied she did it. Its not like I started bleeding out of nowhere. For f***s sake I felt it when it happened. She continued to act childish and unprofessional until I left. Bottom line, I've worked in the customer service industry for 10+ years and understand people have their days and you can't please everyone but there's always a way to handle situations, professionally. Emily unfortunately does NOT know how to act as a professional business owner. Emily next time you have conflict with a customer, you can't let your emotions take over. Learn to take constructive critiscm and accept at times your work may need improvement. And then maybe next time you wont lose another loyal customer. I came back to fix my nail but she told me she has no time. Only schedule's on Monday 3 o'clock. Sunday was my friend birthday party .I was so upset with my broken nail. I went to another salon prior to this one-closer to my house however the previous salon was having some issues that involved police and lack of nail techs (at 11:30am on a Saturday...? I have a feeling the lack of techs were due to the reason for police activity. It seems this location has bad feng shui due to violent episodes...) so after 20 minutes of waiting-I left. Upon my arrival at Unique-I was immediately greeted by a nail tech. One star!! The second star went to the owner? Who openly discussed her trip back from a trip and included everyone in the salon. This gave me the feeling of, we aren't just customers to her. The 3rd star was for the fact that all the techs spoke English 80% of the time rather than all Vietnamese which means they are talking to clients. This was a pleasant surprise. I took one star off due to some comments on here that the age of the salon was showing (which is true) but I'm getting a feeling that they are trying to update the look and feel of the salon. My chair was ok but I feel that if they provided some pillows for our back the rollers would be more enjoyable. Just my puddly two cents. She (Emily) never apologize and even snapped at me when I said is it possible that I go and come back when she is available. If I could give this place 10 stars I would! It was my first time coming here but definitely not my last. I came in for a fill and came out feeling like I just got the best fill of my life! For only $30! Summer, took her time and the polish looks amazing, no bumps in the polish at all. It looks so clean and smooth and amazing. I'm extremely pleased with how my nails look, from the shape, to the length, to the polish! I definitely recommend her if you're coming in. I live up in the Bay Area but was in town for an event. I desperately needed a manicure and stumbled across this place after scanning Yelp. So thankful for a great experience! The salon itself was very clean and the decor was nice which added to the relaxing atmosphere. The nail tech took his time doing my manicure, and made light conversation with me. I was thrilled that he used a brush and acetone to clean around my cuticles for any excess polish. He did such a nice job that it probably wasn't necessary, but I appreciate that he wanted it to be perfect. I will definitely return to Unique Nail next time I'm in town :) read more

I've never gone to any other nail salon since I found this place. They are so incredibly excellent and good at what they do. You're best off calling in ahead of time and asking when it is a good time for you to come in because they are pretty much busy all day everyday. My gel manicure will stay on for 4 weeks at a time before I have to come back for a new set. Also bring cash for tip because they can't do tips on a card. This place is seriously a hidden gem, after getting tired of the hit or miss service at my old nail salon I was in search for somewhere with similar prices but better results. After reading all the reviews I decided to call ahead an make an appointment; which I probably could have done without as they were pretty slow. I think Emily did my gel manicure and she did an amazing job; no bubbles and the color was exactly what I wanted. Ryan? Who someone else raved about did my gel spa pedi and that was also perfect. The overall work they do is much more what I was looking for and the place itself is very clean and so quiet and relaxing. My favorite part was that I was able to relax and not be up charged or asked if I would like to do something more than I ask for 10 extra dollars. PS they heat up the lotion before they massage you! The two workers were verbally fighting as soon as my mom and I got in our pedicure chairs and they were trying to get each of us to take sides or something. It was extremely awkward and unprofessional. One lady was so upset I thought that they were going to physically fight. I am new to the area and have been trying different nail salons. Unique Nails is my new favorite! The service was excellent and my nails were done as I asked. I go between gel and dip because my nails are very soft. Emily (I believe that is her name) recommended the bio nail gel to try to remedy my nail issues. So far so good! I also like my nails short because they grow very fast and start to crack and peel on the sides. Many places I have gone to are hesitant to cut them as short as I like. She cut them short and shaped them beautifully! The place is clean, service is great and they are super friendly!! Will be going back for sure! read more

I went to this salon 3 times, and Emily and Nina were so very nice and my nails were perfect. The third time I went was a horrible experience with Emily. Nina is always a joy, super nice. Apparently Emily is not a morning person (I usually went in the afternoon). The past two visits Emily was friendly, funny and engaging, but this time she was down right rude. I made the mistake of asking her if she was okay because she seemed unusually quiet and also when I asked to see one of the gel colorls in the bottle she snapped at me and said the color on the card is the same color in the bottle, but sometimes to me it helps to see the actual color in the bottle. At any rate, when I asked her if she was okay she rudely said I'm not a morning person and anyone who knows her knows that about her and wouldn't ask that question (and would sit in silence while she did their nails). Clearly having been there only 2 times before that I don't know her and was just trying to be nice. I felt bad for Nina as she looked at me apologiclly. The rest of the gel manicure was spent in an awkward silence. My suggestion to you is to either get your mani/pedi done by Nina, or go in the afternoon if you must see Emily or if you need a morning appointment don't talk to Emily. So needless to say I will be in need of a new nail salon. Such poor customer service on the part of salon owner Emily. What should have been a positive and relaxing experience was an awful experience, which is a shame since their work is great. read more

Walked in and was helped immediately. Got a pedicure and a gel manicure with French tips. The service was very professional and my nails were done beautifully! The price was competitive for the area and quality ($64 which included a callus removal treatment for my feet). I highly recommend this nail salon and will be back again! read more
