I just have to take it off and clean up my cuticles by myself. Nails were twice this length. They kept messing up the evenness of them so they kept going shorter to try to fix it. I finally went today after realizing the nail place I tried in Agoura Hills was inconsistent. The first visit there was fine, the second was awful and completely destroyed my natural nails, so I was back on the hunt for a new salon. I originally wanted to book with Trina, but she was fully booked and her next availability was later in the afternoon, which I couldn't make work. Instead, Daisy did my nails and I'm honestly blown away. These are the most beautiful nails I've ever had. I got Gel-X in a holiday red sparkle, and I went longer than I normally do, and WOW. They are gorgeous. I cannot stop looking at them or talking with my hands because she did such an incredible job. I actually had them remove the previous set completely because my natural nails were broken down really low and in bad shape, and Daisy handled everything with care and precision. My nails feel strong, look flawless, and the shape is perfect. I also got a pedicure while I was there. I don't remember the name of the technician who did it, but she did a fantastic job as well. From start to finish, the experience was excellent. I really appreciated how accommodating they were and how quickly they were able to get me in today. I've been living in the Thousand Oaks area for almost two years and have struggled to find a nail salon to replace the one I loved back in Santa Clarita. I honestly think I've finally found it. It was also really sweet to see how loved Trina is. Clients were so excited to see her back from maternity leave, and it was very clear she's a favorite there. I definitely plan to book with her next time, but if she's not available, I will absolutely go back to Daisy without hesitation. Highly recommend Modern Nail Lounge. Chuck did my gel pedicure and did a fantastic job. The massage chairs are great. After Chuck was done he gave me a hot towel. The place is spotless. They offer so many different colors and are up to date on all the latest trends including cat eye for $10.00. Plenty of gel colors, builder gel, etc. Displays, walls and books of colors. My gel pedi was $40.00. I noticed they also do massages while you get your nails done. I think they also do waxing. Awesome local spot and even more awesome for visitors. My friend and I called ahead to be sure of availibility, and still when we arrived sat in chairs waiting to be seen for at least a half hour. Once we were finally seen, we had different experiences. Though I cannot fault them for their design ability, I would prefer for them to have refused my design then to have messed it up so badly. In additon, he left me for the phone multipe times, and was generally rude when I asked him to change shape or size after he asked if it was okay. (I ended up re-shaping them later once I got home because he seemingly couldn't even them out for the life of him.) He didn't even do my color, sending me off to wait for another artist for another half hour! My friend's nail artist did quite well and seemed to be very nice, so I am not sure what happened with the man I saw, but it was very unprofessional. Finally, I have gotten gel-x done many times in my life, even having done them myself, and when nail-after-nail started popping off not even at the 2 week mark, I knew that this salon hadn't even attempted to give the care they had promised. PLEASE save your money and find a better salon.
