Today I went in and was excited for the threader as I love her work and love how my eyebrows look with her. If I could give zero stars ... I would! This business has been there for some years however, with new threaders/waxers it's vital that they are properly trained and listen to customer requests. I experienced a truly bad service! I specifically asked that my eyebrows simply be cleaned up. I said please do not make them thin. I do not care about an arch, keep them thick just clean them up. Also, lip service I requested threading as well Only to experience the following: I noticed she was spending a lot more time on my eyebrows I thought it was odd but felt I made myself clear so I continued to lay there... Then she went on to my lip. Mid threading she said, you should do wax it will make it cleaner and fast. I replied. I don't like wax, please continue to thread. She goes on and on about wanting to wax an area so finally, I said go ahead. She used the wax which felt extremely hot and then she rips off the wax strip. My lip immediately felt like it was raw. As she hurried to finish up. She showed me the mirror... by this time I was so ready to go! Looking in the mirror I saw how red my face was and how thin she made my eyebrows. I was furious!!!! I told her I was not happy at all! I reiterated how I expressed I wanted my eyebrows not to be thin and why my face was red. She apologized and told me to put castor oil on eyebrows so they can grow back thick. Unbelievable. I now have a burn mark and healing scab on my upper lip and thin eyebrows. Never again!! read more

I've been going here for years I used to pay 7 dollars plus tip then after a while they bumped up the prices to 12 I was fine with that but when I kept going to get my eyebrows done there was a lady that would put her fingers in my mouth and she wouldn't wear gloves at all and she didn't say sorry about doing that. I was unaware that I had to put my hands in certain positions to assist her and when she was instructing me she was really aggressive and abrupt. Granted, I usually just stick to my tried and true technician at Unique Thread and end up with pretty good results but I was desperate this time and decided to try someone new just this once. Biggest mistake ever. First off, hygiene is extremely important in these salon type establishments. The eyebrow technicians are supposed to wash their hands between customers and after handling the cash register. I went in and the eyebrow girl was eating her lunch. I look away for a second and then she says she's ready for me. I had assumed she had washed and prepped however, when she started to thread I realized that her hands smelled like the food she was eating! I was soo grossed out; all that stuff on my already problematic skin??? No thanks! I asked her to wash her hands and instead she just used the hand sanitizer... Okay... Fast forward 6 minutes and I ended up with eyebrows that were completely inconsistent. One was thick and the other way thinner- they didn't match up at all! Worse, I had about 4 cuts on my eyebrows and about three on my upper lip. Hurt like a B! The only person that does a decent job when it comes to threading at this establishment is Neetu. She takes her time and double checks with you when she isn't sure how you want to go about a certain part. (ie. thickness, not enough hair growth, etc.) Moreover, she LISTENS to the customer about what it is HE/SHE wants. She is the only reason I'm giving this place two stars. To end my rant, I just want to say that this business has the potential to be a top notch threading place. The owner just needs to spend more time and effort in training their staff to be consistent with their work as well as, establish proper hygiene protocols. Moreover, revamping the place was all fine but it doesn't mean much when there's dust on the tables and the floors are sticky from all the foot traffic. I've been to Unique Thread twice now, and I will not be going back. The first time I went I thought that the girl did an okay job, a bit on the thin side, but not horrible. My sister who also went with me had her eyebrows done unevenly (one brow thicker than the other) and way too skinny for her liking. (Unfortunately, during the threading process eyes are closed and you are unable to see exactly what is happening). She had the same girl, but ultimately had a different result. She told me then and there she would not go back. I tried just this last month with a different eye brow threading girl, hoping this time around things would improve... she was even worse. Telling me who ever had done my eyebrows before had over done it on one side. (Little did she know it was her colleague at Unique Thread). She threaded them even skinnier than the girl before her. I don't know why when you have full, thick eye brows they just can't shape them, trim them and clean them up a bit, when that is verbatim the instructions given? It seems beyond their abilities thus, I will not be giving them my future business. I've had threading done many times before this experience, so I do know what to expect in regards to look, price, etc. I see a short lived business if they don't hire individuals who are proficient at doing what they are supposed to do best, threading. My mom tried explaining how she thought they were uneven and the lady replied "I left them the way they were I just cleaned them" but that is not why you go in to get a service done. The lady kept on denying and saying she thought they were okay. She argued and we said we will not be coming back since you don't know where there should be hair and where there shouldn't and without resolving the issue, she said "that is your choice". You don't treat your customers like this, you need to listen to how they want them done. The lady didn't know how to treat their customer and how to talk to them. Will never be going back. Bad experience today. I went in at, according to the universal internet clock, it was 2:45PM. The two women were counting their money and said, "We're closed. We close at 3PM on Sunday." I looked at their clock and it said 2:47PM. Last I recall, that's not 3PM and seriously, it takes 5 minutes to thread my eyebrows. For that, you get 0 stars, and the only reason I'm leaving 2 is because I like one threader who works there, but she was not there. The skinny gal w/ the glasses. She would have not turned me away because I'm a regular there, but NOT anymore. All you have to do to avoid people coming in after your closing hours is lock the door at 3PM and finish the clients who come in before that. That's called closing at 3PM.
