First time at Unique Thrift Store 6/1/24, owner very pleasant, helpful, honest, and informative on items in his store. He has very good, reasonable prices. I purchased two small matching solid wood tables (16 x 16 x 24) and a single drinking glass. He suggested I pull up in front of his store to help me load the tables (as I had was parked across street at Richland Park Farmers Market). What a contrast to the business down the street where I bought 5 postcards for $2.00 each (grossly overpriced post cards of Nashville) bill total $10.92. Handed him $20.92 and he said thank you. I asked for my $10. change- he (about 30 years old) said oah it was $10.92 - - - other man (owner?) behind counter was watching and the man I asked for my $10.00 change pulled out $20. bill I had given him. Owner? said some people don't know how to make change. I replied it is uncommon that people hand customer their change and verbally count it back - an old school habit. This was a SIMPLE math calculation. All I am trying to point out is the feeling of honesty I experienced at Unique Thrift Store did by far outshine the experience of the Weird Antique business a short distance down the street - having to ask for my $10.00 change seemed purposeful. read more

I'm not sure why all the hate in the only other review here... it's a thrift store guys. And one that is VERY reasonable priced (cheap really). I found some lovely champagne glasses for like 4 bucks that are seriously some of my favorites. I've also purchased some odds and ends. The last time I stopped in they gave me a list of "specials" ie.. the entire store was 10% off, clothing 30, etc. But they added on that "everything is negotiable." But seriously, everything is pretty darn cheap here in my experience. You've got to dig to find the good stuff, but those pieces are worth it! read more

I wasn't impressed with this shop. It was large but cluttered..but hey this is a Thrift Shop..so that is expected..but it was just way too high..the prices was too high...it was like they thought they were selling NEW stuff or antiques and this was and is NEITHER... I would rather wait for yard sale season...I can buy the same things but much more reasonably priced...$12 for a scratched used skillet??? $15 for rag blanket someone put together for $15 because it has Coca Cola on it..it was neither new or antique..just expensive.. I have been going to this thrift store since before the current owners. The new owners changed things around a bit. They often have NEW items as well as the other "thrift store" type stuff. I have found some of their prices to be higher than at other places but they often have things that are in better shape or of a higher quality. I have found the owner to be flexible on prices of some of the bigger ticket items or willing to bundle. This place tends to have a smaller selection. Of clothing with the focus on housewares. I like to "treasure" hunt and this is one of several places I visit while doing so. If looking for furniture or even fixtures this is one f the first places I come to. read more

I wasn't expecting much initially, but I found some amazing furniture, including a brand new desk that would have been over $1,500 easily out of market, but only cost me $250! Unique Thrift Store is EXACTLY what a thrift store should be, and more. 1) they have everything you could imagine, from clothing to kitchenware, to light fixtures, and furniture. Cheap furniture, barely used furniture, china sets, blenders, etc. So yes, the store is "cluttered," but in the best way possible. There are so many gems! 2) they bargain with you! I can't tell you how many "thrift stores" I've been to that are stubbornly set on price. If you really want something and maybe can't afford it, please, name a price. They will be fair. 3) they constantly have new inventory. You can go there at least once a week and find many new things. They are working hard in finding unique thrift items for the Nashville community. I love this place! Ps-I have come here many times before and have always recommended it to friends. I could not believe the poor reviews that this store had gotten. Went to look at furniture for my apartment, and found BED BUGS on the furniture! Extremely polite woman working, but over priced items with bed bugs? No thank you. Never again will I walk into that store, hope they good a good exterminator... or just throw the store away -- YUCK! read more

Do not shop here :( horrible service, how can you sell high priced electronics and lie about the fact that they work? Amir assured me that the $89.99 Jillian Micheals SE Elliptical Machine worked perfectly and just needed batteries! I was excited and trusted him based off the past yelp reviews, but was still hesitant to buy such a pricey item I asked if he would take $70 and he wouldn't budge that low so he marked off a measly $5.00 I really needed this machine to recover from a knee injury and even chatted with the woman for a long while about her son also recovering from a knee injury and surgery. Brand new D batteries and nothing works. It's just a hunk of metal I paid $85.00 for and they refuse to take it back. Such a bummer that we have scammers running businesses in our up and coming Charlotte neighborhood. I'm very disappointed. read more

I wish I could like this place but I will never go back. The guy who runs the store and the stores instagram page engages in deceptive marketing. He was advertising some suits I was interested in online - the copy for the ad read something like 3 day sale this weekend, dates 11-13, all clothes 75 percent off! -- "Great!" I thought, "I'll rush right over". But I was surprised to find that not only were the suits over $75.00 each (kind of crazy for a "thrift store", no?) -- but that these items weren't part of the sale on all clothes- in fact not many items were part of the sale. Only a few clothes with dots on the tags. When I brought this up to him - he was like, "oh you can see that?" I guess he didn't really understand what instagram is or how it works- but that is no excuse for the bait and switch advertising. This is not only deceptive - it's ILLEGAL! Don't fall for this kind of BS - go elsewhere! read more

I love a good thrift store and I have NEVER had a pleasant experience here. I spotted in here today because I was just going to wander down Charlotte. It is definitely a big store. Every time I have entered NO ONE has acknowledged me, but other patrons get acknowledged. Today it was the same thing. Two women entered right ahead of me and an employee rushed over to help them and they didn't need help. A group of 3 came in after me and she rushed over to help them. Me? Just browsing and obviously not in need of assistance. Prices.. Wow. For a thrift store they are high. I have heard that they will work with you on prices but when they don't acknowledge you, that makes it hard to work on prices. The items seem to cover everything. I was checking out the glass at the front of the store and it is REALLY overpriced for what it is. I imagine they have factored in "wiggle room" but again, when they don't acknowledge you that kind of goes out of the window. I did see a kitchenware in the back marked for more than what the item is at Target which was funny as it is was older than the current stock but not "vintage" not that vintage would have given it any more value. I will continue to stop there when I am making my way down thrift stores on Charlotte on the off chance there is something I want at a fair price. I just won't expect help. read more

Finally stopped in here after meaning to for a long time...was pleasantly surprised how friendly and helpful owner was. Very hard working man, ready to help in whatever way he can. A great place for furniture pieces, vintage and newer styles. Found something I was actually searching for, and stumbled upon a fantastic child's table that was really well made and unique. Something that was great about the owner was that he is willing to negotiate and was very fair on the prices and the day I went in, everything was 10% off. Loved it. Will totally go back. read more

I shop there once a week or more.. takes a second to park out front, bounce in, bounce out. Love searching for that new or "old" piece.. I buy something every time I'm in there. I stopped at this Thrift Store recently and bought a futon. The two owners were really nice and helpful! In fact, one of them disassembled the whole futon so we could put it in our car. He even gave us an Allen wrench just to be helpful! While the prices for certain items were a bit high, overall everything from pillows to earrings looked quite reasonable and affordable.
