I couldn't help but notice the gate agent who was also working the ramp tonight when our United Airlines flight arrived in Bentonville, Arkansas. He greeted each passenger as we exited the plane and wished us a great evening. Some might say that's not that big of a deal. My perspective is at 11:45 PM at night. That's a really big deal. He had a great attitude. He was thoughtful and he was doing his best to put customers first and greet people to welcome them to their destination and wish them a great evening and weekend. United could careless about their customers. I have not been on a flight in the last 3 months that has not been delayed or canceled. I fly pretty much weekly and there always seems to be an issue. What is really upsetting is they know the flight is delayed and they wait to tell customers until the last minute. United uses every excuse in the book for why they can't be on time or why they have to cancel. Get it together United! read more

My flight from xna to Denver was rerouted to Colorado Springs due to weather.. which was not the airlines fault but we sat on the tarmac in Colorado Springs for 4 1/2 hours which was United airlines fault... I am requesting compensation regarding my flight and they are refusing.. I lost money on my air bnb, my shuttle and groceries I ordered to be delivered.. never made it to my destination.. As tends to happen, my bags didn't make my departing flight and were not there when I arrived at the Bentonville airport. After waiting for the carousel to eventually stop, I headed over to the ticket counter (not the biggest airport, as you can imagine), where the baggage guy looked up the tag and let me know the story. He took my missing luggage report and said that the bags would be on the next flight and that they would be delivered that night. When I woke up the next morning, I was sad that they hadn't arrive. But that was a mistake - the delivery driver had left me a voice mail at 4am that he had "hidden" them near my front door and behind the trash bins. Awesome! Thank you! I've flown United to and from XNA several times (Houston, Chicago and Newark) and never had a problem other than that one time. Their ticket counter agents and gate agents are the typical friendly sorts as you would expect in Arkansas. They're still using the "B" gates downstairs rather than the upstairs "A" gates that have jetbridges. read more

I have never traveled with United Airlines before, this will be my first and last time, worst airline. This airline is a money sucker, it is very easy for them to take your money, but, when it comes to asking for a refund, they make it really hard!!!!!! Went with 2 friends and my sister to celebrate her birthday to Bay Island Roatan, Honduras. Everything was fine up until we were coming back to the U.S. We were stopped at the boarding gate by an agent, she notified us that we were not allowed to take our carry-on luggage inside the plane, we asked for an explanation as to why? I noticed that other passengers were taking their carry-luggage and were allowed to proceed to the plane, I asked them why is it that we were not allowed but they were letting other passengers take their carry-on, they just look and ignored us and did not give us an explanation. We asked them why we were NOT notified of the carry-on luggage restrictions when we checked-in at the front check in counter? she couldn't give us a reason as well, all she said was that we had to pay for the carry on luggage, we got very upset because we had already paid for our check-in luggage and now we had to pay for the carry-on as well. To make things worse, we were charged $80 freaking dollars for our carry on. We asked how much would've been if we were notified at the check-in counter for our carry-on and she told us it would've been $40, we got even more upset, when she told us the price, we requested if we can go back to the check-in counter to take the carry-luggage and pay the $40, they declined. Next day I went online to United Airlines website and filed a request for a refund of the $80.00 I got charged for the carry-on, I explained on the form what had happen at the airport in Roatan, I also mentioned that it was very unfair that I got charged for this luggage without any previous notification on their part in Roatan, they flat out denied my request. These agents at Roatan airport were very rude to us. IF YOU WANT TO SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE AND YOUR MONEY, DO NOT TRAVEL WITH UNITED AIRLINES!!! I had a very nice flight set up - a Sunday morning (9am) flight from Newark Airport to Northwest Arkansas (non-stop) scheduled to land at 11:30am. On that June morning the weather was very nice I dropped off the fueled up rental car, got on a shuttle bus (since the air train was out of service) at around 8am and got over to Terminal C and the bus let us off on the (for me) wrong (upper) level. I walked in and there was "Elite check in" for United passengers, but I knew that I was not an elite customer of theirs (in fact my ticket had all kinds of exciting restrictions) so I had to waste time trying to find the right place to check in (it was down a level or 2). The place I was supposed to check in at was a mob scene when I found it - due to an emergency situation the day before, both the airport & United Airlines were still trying to get back to normal. I made my way to the area where the kiosks are located. By the time I got to a kiosk a United Airlines woman said to me "it's too late" to check in (I had no bags to check in)... Meanwhile it was only about 8:15am. I said to her "What do I do now?" She said I had to go to Travel Assistance. It turns out there is some kind of BS rule about checking in no later than 45 minutes until flight time (other airlines like Spirit want you to check in 1 hour before flight time). *In my humble opinion, I could have easily made the damn flight. Later on the same day I made it from the check in area to the gate in 15 - 20 minutes (the big hurdle is going through security). Anyway, since I had no choice, I went over to Travel Assistance and stood on a LONG line (see photo) that was moving glacially at about 1 foot per 10 or 15 minutes. There was a woman who worked for United Airlines standing near the line and I complained to her - she said it was mostly due to the emergency the day before. I said why didn't United or Expedia text me? She gave me some kind of BS answer. She also said it's a good idea to call United (instead of wait on the long line) and re-book that way. A woman I was standing next to tried that method but after being on hold for 30 minutes when she got an agent on the phone, the call dropped. My iPhone was (as usual) low on battery power so I was not going to call United and I just stood on the slow moving line with my dead cell phone. I am not exaggerating that as I fumed while waiting on the horrible line I did not get to an agent until about 10:45am - so that means I spent roughly 2 & 1/2 hours on that dreadful line. The agent was very nice and he gave me a flight for early afternoon but, of course, I was now going to fly to Charlotte, then get on a 2nd plane to get to Northwestern Arkansas (arriving at 5:00pm). The flight left Newark at around 1pm and landed in Charlotte and I had maybe 30 minutes to get to the next flight (had to go from Terminal A to Terminal E or vice-versa in Charlotte). I wound up making the 2nd flight ok. My main beef with United is: why not just let me go to the gate? I could have made the original (non-stop) flight! I basically lost 6 hours thanks to United Airlines. I am not going to fly on United Airlines again and I also don't like Newark Airport (for example, the bus should bring people to the right level for checking in. I am also not going to use Expedia again because they could have contacted me (text or e-mail) as Orbitz usually does, about the ongoing mess at Newark Airport. As a result, my Sunday plans got needlessly messed up and I was very pissed off over it. I also found out (during the re-booking) that my restricted ticket did not even allow me to do a web check in. Be very careful when buying a restricted ticket from United Airlines. They are cheap tickets but they pretty much strip away all of your human rights and you can get "tripped up" as I did. read more

Average airport. First off most complaints relate to airline personnel - not airport personnel. Flying in here most likely from Chicago or possibly Houston. You'll be on United Express though. Small airport small plane. Gotta fly with someone. Depending on where you go you don't always have a ton of options. Least internationally but United isn't the worst option. Economy plus is a huge increase over economy. Least state of mind wise. Economy is the plus on other airlines from my experience. Business and first get into the same category as everyone else. This new Polaris is still too new for me to make a call on. But one downside is food. Planes are restocked immediately after landing. Sometimes that means food could be sitting for 2-6 hours before heading out again. Not the freshest. Rather fly United out of Denver than Chicago O'hare or Newark. One terminal over multiple. But you really can't review the airline off of the airports they are in. Nothing they control necessarily. read more

United Airlines. I am not a fan at all. I paid extra for economy plus which was more leg room. So with my extra money and leg room I got no tray for drinks, magazines or anything else. Also, United, you totally stink because you have no screens. No movies for anyone. On a five hour flight? And I have to say also, the zombie crew doing their jobs, providing stupid crushed up bags of check mix or whatever you give out...had no personality whatsoever...United Airlines... After patiently waiting on hold for an hour and a half, I was told that the "flexible" ticket that I had purchased, YESTERDAY, was indeed non-refundable, but flexible. However, it would only flex if I gave them another $200. I was only trying to change one date mind you. The cost of the flight that I purchased was $347. How can any business in there right mind charge a 60%+ penalty on something and still feel comfortable calling it flexible? I'm not trying to change it for tomorrow either.
