I was looking for an inflatable globe for my Halloween costume and had no luck in Walmart. My next thought was hitting up a teacher/school supply store. As soon as I walked in, the guy at the register greeted me with a smile. I went up to him and asked where they had the globes and they were over on a shelf near the front of the store. Score! Made for a brief visit. I didn't walk around much but the store itself is pretty open. They've got a lot of things in there as it seems to be a go-to place for school stuff. I saw a few parents with their kids in here, but it wasn't overly busy since it was around 4:30 on a Thursday. read more

Still have to give it to the United Art & Education store! They are still a complete life saver when I need the weirdest of things and don't really have time to fight traffic on the main drags like Sawmill or Rome Hilliard Rd. Not to mention, the place is pretty darn fun. Outside of the typical teaching aids and supplies -- There's toys, trinkets and so many cool little things to keep you entertained. I definitely need to keep this place stashed in my mind for stocking-stuffers or small trinkets/gifts for friends and employees. I stop here not as a teacher per say, but for art supplies. It's not going to be everything under the sun, but if I'm in a pinch and need items while in the area, I'll gladly stop here and give them my business. They even had some more peculiar things I would not have expected on the artist front, and while they cannot host the big box store quantities and variations, they will likely at least have one option available. The staff is also incredibly knowledgeable and can help you if you have questions and since they try out most of the supplies can also give excellent suggestions and reviews. To be completely honest - Outside of Amazon -- there's really not very many places that cater to the teaching crowd anymore, so this place is excellent for that instant gratification or last minute factor. Wow! This store is quite large, and it's packed with school and teacher supplies, crafts and art supplies, activities, toys, and so much more! This is a great option for harder to find items. They also have a wide variety of regular items on hand, which makes it something of a one-stop shop if you need it to be, and are willing to pay a little extra. I was very excited to find the whole wall full of single color packs of construction paper, which I thought no one was selling anymore, which is annoying when you only need one or two colors and you're forced to buy a multipack. The staff was friendly and helpful, and there is plenty of parking available in the shopping center lot. Restrooms are also available in the store. read more

Formerly located in Dublin, this Mill Run store is a great source for art, craft and education needs. It is primarily a supply store for teachers, though non-educators will have a great time here too. I would have loved this place when I was a kid. In fact, I still do. Location can be a bit hard to find in the plaza. Review: This place is so much fun! It can be a bit expensive but has a huge selection of educational toys, books, and software. There are also posters and all sorts of painting, drawing and art supplies, though you could get paint much cheaper at Walmart, Target, or even Michael's. This store is so much fun to go to - even when I'm not looking for something specific. The people there are so friendly and always willing to help when I have questions about anything; they even open packages of things for me so I can make sure that it is what I think it is. Far from an extension of an education aisle of staples, this place has a TON of education materials from manipulatives to classroom decoratives to teacher resource books. Their selection of art materials is not quite as extensive as a joanns or michaels, but they definately have enough to cover the bases - from liquitex and winsor newton paint to colored popsicle sticks and feathers. They have an awesome mailing list too! Great coupons come in the mail and through email - I've gotten $5 off a $20 purchase, 35% any item, and even 20% my entire purchase! I love this place, I really do. I could spend hours wandering the aisles full of arts and crafts supplies. When I wanted to make hand-made Christmas gifts for some of my friends, I loaded up on supplies here. You know what I really like about this place? Compared to some of the similar stores in the area, it's a fraction of the price. I can get my canvas, my paints, my trays, and my brushes for substantially cheaper than I have been able to find them anywhere else in the Columbus area so far. read more

I teach a pre-kindergarten class, and this store is my saving grace! They have an excellent selection, and if I needneedneed something for my class (be it an art supply, workbook, classroom signage, educational toy or game, or even my own planners or forms) I know I can run over and get it. The only thing really keeping me from five-starring is the prices. If you teach, you know this stuff always costs an arm and a leg even though we're some of the worst paid people. This place isn't as bad as ordering from some of those educational catalogs, but it is on the pricey side. I could walk around in this store for an hour, but I only walk out with those things I really need. Otherwise I'd go broke(er). The staff is always friendly and can help you find whatever, and unlike some other places like this, they seem to have a sufficient enough staff to always have someone handy. read more

I have searched high and low for many different items related to my air brush with no luck. My friend told me about this store and I'll admit, I was very skeptical. No store that is reasonably affordably can be that great... I was wrong. Not only did the young man being the counter go through catalogs to find all the different things I needed, he even told me where to find the things they didn't carry. All the employees were kind and helpful. If they didn't have an answer to my question they didn't stop looking things up until they did. I went in there for replacement parts, bottles, mixing liquid, cleaner, paints, and brushes. I left with every thing but 1, but most of all I left knowing I had a new favorite art store. I don't go to Michael's or Hobby Lobby hardly at all any more. It's down to about once a month and that's just so I can get wooden stuff to paint. read more
