Justina is the absolute best for women's cuts and color. She has the amazing ability to make my hair seem to stay the same length (I like to keep it long) even after a full inch trim - no idea how she does this. My layers always turn out great. And to top it all off, she's fun to talk with! The salon itself is pretty bare-bones and sterile feeling. I'd love to see some color on the walls and more decor to make for a warmer environment. read more

I've been coming here on and off for a while for massages and hair cuts. I have loved every massage I've gotten (hot stone, deep tissue, 90min, 60min)! They've always been prompt in getting me seen, and I love that I can book online on their website! I've had James for massages a few times and he is absolutely fabulous! The haircuts were nice. Pricing for everything I've tried has been reasonable and average. Love it here! read more

My friend and I are not from the area, but we popped in for a haircut (her) and a manicure (me). Chris gave my friend an awesome cut and I had a great gel mani from Kayla. My nails look amazing and Kayla was so sweet and friendly! Everyone in UA was friendly and chatty and helpful with area recommendations. I wish we lived closer! Would totally go back. read more

Okay, so first i made a consultation with Geimi, i went to the consultation and later i sent her pictures of what i wanted. I wanted a blonde balayage, my hair was virgin and dark brown. She told me that she was gonna charge me $200 or less for the whole process and she said that in the picture i showed her those were highlights NOT a balayage, which i found weird because clearly in the picture the girl had a balayage but since i thought geimi was a professional i just went along with her. Then, i went to the appointment and she did highlights, my hair looked totally different from the picture, i said i did not want my roots colored and she colored them, my hair ended up looking brassy and YELLOW and so damaged and disgusting, she doesn't know how to blowdry either, i had to blowdry my hair when i got home again, double the damage. i am so unsattisfied because if i asked for a balayage i cant get highlights, SHE CHARGED ME $261!!! i go out of the salon to wait for my uber and then i went back in and i told her i did not like the result. They did not offer to refund or to fix it, they just insisted on me to pay for another process, even though it was not my fault!!!!! If i ask you for something and you give me something different and horrible i cant pay you again, and even less if you charged me almost $100 more than what we agreed on. Then i just spoke to her and apprently she does not know how to balayage and she is not a professional, i got ripped off and i got a mess on my virgin hair, i would not recommend this salon; the manager didn't do anything about it she just kept blaming it on me and she kept asking me to pay for another process, because her employee is not a professional. Now i have to go to another PROFESSIONAL salon so they fix my hair and pay the money again. I woukd not recommend unless you wanna get ripped off and get damaged disgusting hair. read more

This is my second time visiting the salon and I must say I was completely disappointed and definitely won't be returning!

I hate to bad mouth a local business but customers need to know. My regular hair dresser does not offer keratin straightening treatment so she recommended United for the very expensive ($300 plus $50 tip)treatment, which I have had done with excellent results in the past. The hairdresser offered another brand saying it worked the same but had less smell. It only lasted 2 weeks (it should last 6 months). United offered to take $150 off the next $300 keratin treatment. I had already spent $350 and they wanted me to spend another $150. Really bad customer service read more

My first time was everything I could ask for and it was all thanks to Justina. She did a cut and color (blue ombré) and curled/styled. She was very thorough and attentive, and made sure to tell me everything she knew about keeping my color from fading. I had an appointment for a manicure and pedicure and the service was awful. Worse is that it was over $70 for what equated to filing my nails. Polish job was poor as well. It was disappointing to say the least. I will not go back. read more

This is my go-to salon. I have had wonderful experiences here and the good thing about a salon like this is if there's one staff member that you don't have a wonderful experience with you can always try a similar service with another as there's multiple hair stylists, nail techs, esthetician, etc. I am never disappointed with Kayla for nails as she helped me renew my nails after another salon messed them up really bad and gave me acrylic instead of gel and damaging the nail bad significantly (Don't go to Charming Nails & Tanning Salon). Kayla worked with me over a period of several weeks to try and get my nails back to where they should be and slowly get off all of the acrylic and glue while my nails grew back from being handled poorly at the other salon. They have a service that offers a healthier option for your nails than gel so I'd definitely recommend that and Judi is really knowledgeable and considerate when it comes to skincare and facials. I've only seen her once but I had a very relaxing facial with her and I saw a noticeable difference in my skin immediately after that lasted some time too. Definitely check this place out! read more

I had originally won a cut and brow wax from a bingo. However when I went to schedule my appointment I was told I technically had a 3:00 appointment with kristin but she asked if I could come at 1. I then ended up being late and alerted the salon to let them know. I then arrived at the salon and was treated poorly by only Kristen being told she didn't have time for me then when she should've told me over the phone. I was then pressured into scheduling another appointment which I decided to give to my sister. My sister then didn't show up because she is 13 and forgets sometimes. Soon after I received an exceptionally rude phone message from Kristen saying she could not offer me a hair coloring but would honor the gift card. While that is appreciated her tone and manner in which she addressed me was totally insane for someone who wants my business. I would not recommend Kristen although the salon is nice they seem to have an air of being better than everyone. read more

I went to United Artists for the first time after moving to the area. Let me just say they have earned my business. From the moment you walk in the door, they are so welcoming. They have created a 5 star experience for there customers, and I would say it was the best experience I have ver had at a salon. First time customers receive a welcome bag and all the employees are so friendly and helpful. My hair stylist was Kristen and I am always nervous getting my hair done for the first time by someone, but she was able to do it exactly how I wanted it. She was very knowledgable about the various products that I would benefit from using and was very helpful. If you are looking for a salon to go to this would be the one. United Artists would be voted Best of Berks for Hair salon if it were up to me. Thank you again for making my first experience a great one, I look forward to returning back soon. read more
