Our UBH home was completed Feb 2023 and started Sept 2022. Both Steven Crews and Brady have been awesome to work with. When we had questions they answered them. When we had concerns they came to the build to review our concerns. Since completion we've needed a few things adjusted and they were quick to take care of it. I Have Live in My home built by UBH in Ft Worth for almost 2 and a half years now. And after this week I decided it was time to leave a review. They say they will communicate with you every step of the way through the build process. This is not true. Getting any information from the project manager was like pulling teeth. He or the office did not listen to me when I explained the permit requirements in Denton County for the culvert. and this caused a nearly 90 day delay in completion because they weren't prepared for it. The Project Manager Lied and at one point requested a preliminary walk through. Then after turned paperwork in as if house was done. before culvert was on or septic was in. When I had AC problems and called AC tech that installed the first year because House was 83 degrees. Said AC is fine. Next year Ttrane said AC is Fine but original Tech is no longer in business. Finally called my neighbor this year. he looked at it and said it would never cool my home because it was a 3 ton unit. Now who puts a 3 ton unit in a 1880 sqft home in north texas? no one. I had a Air Load on my house and it requires 4 ton min to cool. So I was left either pay to cool or have house at 85 degrees and 300 electric bill in summer. They Did Certain Things Well. My Concrete guys did a great job. Framers did a great job except for one wall not going where it was supposed to go. but that was the Project managers fault. Dry wall was great. Brick work was great. But Communication was non existent. And problems didnt exist until they caused problems for them.If they had listened in the beginning it would have saved everyone time. I I wont say dont buy from them. I will say watch them like a Hawk. Trust nothing any of them say. And get everything in writting then dont give them an inch. In retrospect, I was to easy going just trying to move things along. And And I didnt realize they put a 3 ton unit in my house until recently. And Now i am out $7,000 replacing a nearly new system in a nearly new house because UBH wanted to save money they didnt need to. Then a few months after I moved in. I get a check for $2000 dollars for construction escrow refund. So why did they cheap out on my AC to begin with? Overall? I do Like My House. But I am not Loving UBH read more

I was up front with the financial and credit situation from day one. My credit is less than perfect due to medical bills, but still not awful. My husband has great work history, and a 720 credit score, plus we outright OWN our 3.5 acres. Medical bills, legally, should not count against you per hippa laws. I did have a past car in mine in my ex husband's name. He forfeited on the loan BEFORE our final divorce. It was in the divorce decree that it is his debt, not mine. This was all laid on the table from day one. They counted all that against me, even with proof. They said because of that, they couldn't count my income for a loan, so they had to use his credit and income only. Mind you, he makes a decent living. We were told from day one that it wouldn't be an issue getting approved. Even up to a week ago, Sheryl told us "don't worry, we will get you a home". Even with both of us grossing over 80k a year, and 60k in the bank, they couldn't help us. We feel very cheated and deceived right now. Luckily, someone else approved us for twice the space with zero down. Very dishonest. Our home was built in 2016 by UBH in the Dallas area. After living in our home for 7 days our bamboo started lifting. UBH blamed the flooring company. After multiple inspectors and engineers reviewed the issues it was decided that we had a "wet" slab, likely caused by a compromise in the pastic barrier between the slab and the ground. UBH told me they operated with integrity and would do everything in their power to fix our problem. They removed our carpet our baseboards, and just several months ago only offered us a check for an amount not even enough to replace the flooring much less fix our wet slab. We had our slab tested again recently and we currently have a slab with 99% humidity. We just want our home whole and fixed. We recently moved a piece of furniture to find mold underneath it. We are having testing on this done this week. Its very disheartening that this could happen to anyone. I would not recommend this builder to my worst enemy. read more
