Unlike Allen's experience, mine at United was completely different. I went to United as a second option, as my regular doctor was out of town. I don't visit DCH's regularily, only once or twice a year, if I'm hurt. Anyways, I was seen the same day I called, explained the situation, no x rays or mri s taken, was treated and left. I went for two treatments, and then by the time the third was scheduled, I was no longer in pain, so I went in anyway bid the kind doctor a farewell, and thanked him for his services that were so good, that I no longer needed them. He gave me the exercises to do at home and suggested a wellness visit once a month, which wasn't unreasonable.
A no frills kind of office, not like a back spa or a yoga factory, there is a open treatment area where there are about 6 tables (no curtains to separate them) and affords very little privacy. Of course there are individual adjustment/consultation rooms with the chiropractic tables, but the chop shop ish treatment area can be a little off putting to say the least, OR a complete affront to your sensibilities at the worst. There is nothing zen like or zen inducing like the Beaumont clinic on Oak. Just a basic treat em and street em kind of place. That works. So, you don't HAVE to keep coming BACK. read more
