Previous credit union was Navy Federal and deposits were always posted by 3 am on the 1st of the month. UMASSFIVE cannot do this. Worst still...they cannot do this on weekends or holidays ! I must wait till someone uploads the systems pending deposit and with Nee Years day falling on Sunday, I had resigned myself to waiting till Monday but my acct show it is pending till Tuesday the 3rd. Very antiquated business!! Also, they offer the cards in dark purple and black ink for the account number. Lol! Can't even read the card number and yes...there are times when it is needed. Since the numbers aren't raised...I don't but I can't even "feel" the numbers. Lucky it's a plastic card and not paper. The staff service is good but wait times can easily back up with only 2 tellers. This is a very small establishment for banking. They really need to automate their direct deposits system for their retired communities especially since they are so keen to sell me their other service.

I had lost my ATM card while out of state in Virginia. I called Peoples and told them about the…read moreloss and they canceled my old card. That is OK. I said I am without a card so the bank expedited me a new card for $50. and five days to receive it. I get the card so I call up the bank and and said I need a new PIN number to which they replied. GO TO YOUR NEAREST PEOPLES BRANCH AND DO THE PROCESS. I am 640 miles from the bank and went a month without a working card that I paid 50 bucks to have sent to me. Peoples sent me a form for change of address even though I am on vacation for 30 days. They also sent me three times a DOCU-SERVE FORM to get an ATM card sent to me which I had already received after paying 50 bucks. Because my old card was canceled and my new card was dormant for 30 days until I returned, I came back north on I-95 and I-287 & 87. I received an auto toll bill for $6.80 plus a $50. fee PAY BY PLATE because my bank account could not contribute to the transponder payment. No pin, no acct number. Peoples branches in Westfield and Chicopee are not infected by the mis-happenings at Bankee Peddlar in Holyoke. No long bread lines and lack of tellers out of town. This bank is soaking millions in to some ongoing event in Hartford besides renting out the huge building off I-91. Over 40 years a customer with mortgage and equity loans and I am beat like a rented mule. Don't need your useless apology like the other reviews, I won't be back to read it. Currently searching a Speak Easy from the 1920's that gives better service. Daniel O.

Want to pay your rent or send money with Zelle? Sorry, that is no longer available. Want to wire money to your kids? Oops, all the external account you had setup are wiped and you will need to wait 2-3 business days for peoples to 'verify' the accounts that you had verified years ago. Want any help with these new changes or need to ask a question? Ha, wait on the phone for 3+ hours and maybe you'll be dignified with a customer service rep. I cannot wait to move my money out of this bank.

She refused just to sit down, and instead stood at her desk loudly speaking at us, barely letting us get a sentence in. We were planning on going with a VA loan and before I got to mention that we plan on getting married before buying the house (he's the vet, I'm not) she just LOUDLY interjects with "Well, you're not even married? What are you talking about? I'm not gonna put a girlfriend on a VA loan." Then, as I am just barely starting to get my sentence out that we're also looking into USDA loan (I've already done lots of research on this matter), she interrupts loudly AGAIN, "Well your credit scores aren't good enough, its impossible so I don't know why you're even considering USDA." (for everyone else in the office to hear and people were turning around staring at us). Little does she know, we'd just paid off a MASSIVE debt and our credit scores had just shot up well-above the requirments. It was so embarassing. This all happened in a single 5 minute meeting. We didn't even really get to introduce ourselves or explain our current prospects and all the progress we'd made. I wish I had never come to this office and I actually advised my realtor to NEVER recommend this lender to anyone EVER again. ... A week later, I realized I'd never received any communications from her, and I'd already wasted all that time bringing all my documents to her to run the reports, so I figured heck, why not just contact her to see what she found, anyway? So I emailed her and she just said "I am sick, but I'm doing everything I can." I thought this was a short, unaccountable, and weird way to reply to a client. I emailed her again, and she admitted she lost some of my pay stubs, But would still get back to me after running our reports. ..Who does that? It's now been 5 weeks and I still have not received any response, results, or answers. Very bizarre way to do business. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I am doing business with a different lender in the area, and she has preapproved us and we're looking forward to buying a house. Thanks for reading.
