And talk about cheap... I could buy a couple of months of food with what I spend in one week at Safeway... Place is old and as clean as can be expected.... From small children, generations have grown up knowing what it is to do a hard day's work for little reward. The market is housed in a beautiful red barn with a backdrop of the Chilhowee mountains. A picture perfect place to visit in any season. Especially watermelon season! I always get my pumpkins and fall decor from Conings. We are so blessed to have such quality produce available so close to home! It's worth the drive out into the country to support these wonderful folks and grab a tomato, some corn or some okra!

Bruster's is in fact a chain, but Maryville locals love this location and I can see why. I ordered two scoops: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough & Graham Central Station. What I enjoyed most were the chunks of either cookie balls or chocolate shards mixed throughout. My friend thought the ice cream was "too creamy". How that's possible I'll never know, but it clearly lacked the frozen/icicle taste of other ice cream. They have a cool promotion where if you bring your pup, they give you a free dog treat so nobody gets left out. It was like a doggie play date outside for all the pets and their owners enjoying an evening out for dessert! If only I could bring my cat! We will be taking more friends to Bruster's in Maryville.
