Bruster's is a cute name for a coffee shop, which is what I had thought they were. Of course I missed the obvious: the large ice cream cone out front. Duh. Bruster's is in fact a chain, but Maryville locals love this location and I can see why. I ordered two scoops: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough & Graham Central Station. What I enjoyed most were the chunks of either cookie balls or chocolate shards mixed throughout. My friend thought the ice cream was "too creamy". How that's possible I'll never know, but it clearly lacked the frozen/icicle taste of other ice cream. They have a cool promotion where if you bring your pup, they give you a free dog treat so nobody gets left out. It was like a doggie play date outside for all the pets and their owners enjoying an evening out for dessert! If only I could bring my cat! We will be taking more friends to Bruster's in Maryville. read more

First time here and got a seasonal special, gingerbread man ice cream. It wasn't the best. Not creamy and it tasted like chunks of brown sugar was in it and not so much cookie. My boyfriend got a milkshake and said it was good though! I'll have to try a shake and some other flavors before settling on how I feel about them. (I'm an ice cream snob though lol I've been spoiled with salt & straw before moving here). Plenty of parking was available though and they have late hours so it's perfect for late night cravings. Bare bones ice cream parlor with zero decor and sullen teenagers behind the counter. They allow dogs inside and sell dog cups of ice cream. After visiting Bruster's for my first time in Georgia (which I had a great experience at), I was SO EXCITED to come to this location while visiting my mom & siblings. The location was convenient & there was parking alongside the establishment. You could either order at the side of the building (facing the street) or walk inside; there's also tables & chairs inside & outside if you want to enjoy your ice cream. We walked up & given that it was my siblings first time here, they were really excited. I told the dude & he already had the "I don't care" attitude. Rude. I didn't take it personally so we just ordered our ice cream & left. Honestly, won't be back just because of the crappy customer service we got from here. Sucks. read more

My family and I attended this place quite often. I would say once every two weeks as it's hot outside. A couple things that I wish would make this a better experience; 1. You NEED to have high chairs and booster seats if you want to call this a family friendly place. 2. My family enjoys the ice cream, but the team here needs to be more willing to offer samples. I don't know if you all offer that, but the team has never offered us, especially for us being regulars. 3. Maybe offer a rewards program for us regulars. Lastly, the ice cream is great! Unfortunately Brusters's is going downhill fast. The icecream is ok, and the variety is good. The place is very dirty, tables are not wiped down, the floors are not swept, the windows are disgusting. The peanut butter graham is my personal favorite. White chocolate ice cream with thick ribbons of crunchy graham coated peanut butter, this one is heavenly. Aside from the flavors, the ice cream is served at the perfect temperature for maximum enjoyment. Just firmer than soft serve which makes the flavors come alive. We stopped in Bruster's on Mother's Day to get an ice cream. My wife ordered a single dip in a cup. The server handed her the cup and my wife thought it was a joke. It was a child size cup and the ice cream dip barely covered the bottom and only filled the cup about a quarter way up the side. The server said, yes that's a single dip. I got a double dip on a waffle cone, the dips were extremely small (about the size of a table spoon). Imagine a normal ice cream scooper, and then fill the scooper about half way. The cost was about $11. Don't waste your time or your money. There are plenty of other ice cream places around that serve great ice cream and give you your money's worth. Sad to say, we will never go back to Bruster's. I don't know why these businesses do this to themselves? They simply don't get it or the manager runs the business into bankruptcy trying to save pennies. I was generous giving them two stars. I really wanted this place to be great. read more

Excited about Brusters in Maryville until I went there, the first time the ice cream was melting as soon as it was handed to me, not to mention taking forever to getting it served. Decided to give the Maryville location another chance, well the service was slower than the first time. There is at least 6-7 people working but all seem to not have it together, doesn't flow good, unorganized and caught One girl licking her finger and not wash afterwards. I live in the middle between the Brusters on Northshore and the one in Maryville, trust me it's Northshore is way better, fast service and your ice cream isn't melting before you get it. I thought I would check out this place even though there were mixed reviews. I found the young gentleman that waited on me very professional and courteous. Heard people were not friendly but I didn't find that. The waffle cone was delicious. I have to say the ice cream was a disappointment. They have whipped it up so much that it tastes like a mouse or cool whip more than an ice cream. They whip air in it so you get less ice cream but looks bigger. Have to say I wouldn't go back. In town and stopped by during the week to much our surprise this place is already busy. Ordered half Oreo and half coffee toffee which was really good. Ordered a regular which was over flowing with yummy goodness. My only complaint is the the coffee ice cream was a little too soft. The rest of our party liked what they had but most felt it was really good but not the best they ever had. So all in all I gave it 4 stars as for the area it's probably the best you will find. The Waffle cone looks like a good deal so check that out as we seen a few go by and they did look impressive. Parking will be tight in the summer but not much you can do about that. read more

Cool place to grab ice cream! I was in town visiting and craving some dessert. We got the Cookie butter and New York Cheesecake ice cream and both were delicious. There's plenty of space to sit inside or outside. They have a decent-sized parking lot but there were almost no empty spaces when we got there. Every Thursday you can bring your own banana and get 1/2 off a banana split. They also have free doggie sundaes if you bring your furry friend. read more

So, we'll never be back... after seeing the employee stick her fuzzy sweatered arm nearly elbow deep into the wet walnuts bucket to dig out syrupy nuts (that are like glue) using a small plastic spoon while the ice cream melted AND THEN using her TEETH to help her open a new can of whipped cream . . . nope. Plus this place is always, always dirty. Thanks for stealing my money, Bruster's. It's refreshing to know that character and morals are becoming more and more obsolete. I urge everyone to avoid this company at all costs, as this issues persists throughout both upper and lower level management. As a quick snippet of my situation, I dropped $80 on the ground when I came into the store, and my fiancee saw it, didn't know it was mine, and turned it in. I returned a couple hours later after realizing it was mine, only to learn that the assistant manager whom my fiancee turned it into actually gave it away to another family, without even counting it, asking this family how much they lost, or even waiting for someone to come ask for the money (she actually left the counter and asked random customers if it was theirs, rather than keeping it in the safe until the owner came and asked for it). When I asked for it back, she immediately got REALLY defensive, raised her voice in front of myself, her coworkers, and other employees, threatened to call the police, and would often ignore me, not answer my questions, and act overall very immature throughout the conversation. I got a call back from the owner, Robert, and he said that he fully supports his employee's decision to wait until we ate/left and go hand out my money to a random guy and his family, despite the fact that she never counted the money or asked this guy how much money it was that he "lost." Robert said he would have done the exact same thing, which tells us that both the upper and lower level management at Bruster's have absolutely no character or morals. Don't give this company your money. Go to any of the other ice cream stores in Maryville that cost less and are run by honest, friendly people. Good character is apparently becoming more and more difficult to possess these days, but we can do our part as customers to support companies that still have it. read more

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE MARYVILLE LOCATION ONLY. As a longtime fan of Bruster's Knoxville locations, I was excited when they opened a location close to my office in Maryville. The women I work with are ice cream lovers like me, so we talk about Bruster's A LOT: the various flavors, what we like and don't like, what we had on our last visit, what we brought home (they all live closer to Maryville, and I'm in Knoxville). So when my co-worker who loves Bruster's more than anything else on the planet had a birthday coming up, we decided to surprise her with a pie from Bruster's. Our company's owner and another co-worker and I are looking at the options online around 11:00 this morning. After discussing what our Birthday Girl likes and doesn't like, I picked up the phone to get a few more details. I dial the number and it rings probably six or eight times and instead of a person I get generic voice mail. I figure that maybe they're busy already so I hang up and give it 5 minutes and try back... only to get the save VM. Wow! Busy so early? It's possible...so at 11:30 I try again, and again I get voice mail so I leave a message letting them know I'd like to order a pie for tomorrow and asking for someone to get back with me ASAP. After lunch I decided to try again. I spoke with a pleasant young woman who answered a few questions regarding flavors and prices, and I told her I'd call back within 10 minutes with an order for tomorrow. Less than 5 minutes later, I called back and got the dreaded voice mail. After several more attempts and several more VM pick-ups, Kat answers. I tell her I'd like to order a pie and she asks what DAY I'd like to pick it up. I asked what the earliest I could get one for tomorrow, and she replied that it would be at least 24 hours from the time the order is placed. By this time it's nearly 1:30 pm, and our birthday party tomorrow is at noon. So I mentioned that I had been calling since around 11:15 and finally had to leave a voice mail which was never answered. Well, Kat (who I found out later is the manager of this location) immediately let me know that she had just checked her phone and she had NO MISSED CALLS and NO VOICE MESSAGES. OOOOOkay-- I again explained that I had, in fact, called multiple times, that I didn't have any reason to lie about it and that I could easily just call another location and place my order with someone who wasn't going to accuse me of lying (TO GET AN ICE CREAM PIE). She then informed me she wasn't calling me a liar she was just saying something might be wrong with their phone... WHAT?!?! So, instead of apologizing for any inconvenience and asking what she could do to make it right, she simply hung up on me. Well, KAT that's a shitty way to handle a potential customer, dontcha think? YOU GET NO MORE OF MY BUSINESS OR MY MONEY, EVER!!!!! Needless to say, the manager at the Rocky Hill location filled my order without once insulting me and even managed to prepare it for me when I need it. Thanks, Rocky Hill Manager... see you tomorrow morning! And the next time my co-workers want Bruster's I will be more than happy to drive to your location with my cooler, pick up whatever flavors they're craving, and drive back to Maryville to deliver it. read more

The ice cream is good but the staff is poorly educated on their products. Ordered reece's pieces blast got a blast of a completely different flavor despite her repeating the order to me. The family next to me wanted to know what dairy free options they had. It took three employees and a resource manual and they still sent them away without an answer. Someone here should have some clue to what they serve and how to do so accurately. They don't have a large menu so it shouldn't be that hard. read more
