The reviews about the exceptionally poor receptionists at United Medical are unfortunately exactly what I've experienced. And it's truly sad, because they have some wonderful doctors. I've seen Dr Cai for some time and she's a fantastic doctor, very kind, warm, friendly and has a great disposition. However, just like countless others have shared, I've had a lot of issues in her office lately. And no one at United Medical seeks to care. I've called several times to try to remedy the issue and share my poor experiences. And the receptionist gate-keep and make it impossible to reach the doctor or anyone in management who might be able to help. Last this week I had an appt canceled and then rescheduled, then rescheduled again to a time I can't make, and without my permission. I was told I never spoke to anyone to reschedule when I did. I was called by Maria in their office and I answered on speakerphone next to my husband. She asked me to reschedule the appt I've had since May for either 1 or 1:30 pm as the doctor can no longer make our scheduled time. I chose 1 pm and told her I could not do later (I originally had a morning appt). Then later in the day I got a email that my appt was at 1:30 pm. she I tried calling back to correct the error, as I assumed it was a mistake, and got this difficult AI system and couldn't get through to anyone. The next day I got 8 calls from her office and multiple texts. First Maria said they had to cancel due to no Botox, then it's back on but they can only do the later time I can't make. The woman, Maria, kept telling me a left a message too late the previous day to take the 1 pm appt, as someone else took it. But that didn't happen. She called me, offered me two times and I took the 1 pm and told her I can't do the later one. She insisted that didn't happen and I instead left a voicemail and the time was no longer available. Later she insisted my appt was actually ALWAYS scheduled for 1:30 since it was made in May. I have emails and texts from them the day I made the appt in May showing it was 11 am. I even confirmed that time earlier this week. Now I can't get seen that day, the next week she's out of office and the next week I have a work trip. I tried scheduling it for the next week and she said that wasn't possible and went back to telling me I messed up in May and scheduled the appt for the wrong time. It was this weird circular experience and she REFUSED to schedule me a new appt. So I will have to suffer with migraines for 3-4 weeks minimum and still don't have an appt due to this. I would be okay with that, as I understand mistakes happen and the doctor's schedule changes and life happens. But gaslighting me over and over and saying something didn't happen when it did, that's just mind boggling from someone in a medical office. It sounds like she made a mistake and scheduled at 1 and the first the doctor could do it 1:30 (I got this from a call to her Temecula office). I was told I would get a call but haven't yet. Days later and I still don't have an appt. I've tried the Encinitas office and Temecula several times to no avail. I spent 2 hours trying to get this sorted. By calls, texts, disconnected calls as Maria would not understand what I said (asking to reschedule) and then she would angrily hang up on me. Between two days I got a total of 12 calls and multiple texts, a changed appr, then changed to another time without permission, then canceled, then on, then canceled then back on but only when I wasn't available. And I still don't have a future appt time. It saddens me to write this as Dr Cai is again very kind, and I have loved having her as a doctor. Even though I dealt with some big side effects I said nothing as I know it can happen and never blamed her. But this is just too much. Wasted hours of my day on one of my kid's last days before school starts too!! read more

Review for: United Medical Doctors, 28078 Baxter Rd STE 530, Murrieta, CA 92563 On May 19, 2025, my husband went to his scheduled appointment at this facility. After explaining his illness to the receptionist, she told him "Sorry, we can't help"--so he left without being seen. Despite this, we later received a $100 bill for an office visit. We made multiple phone calls to both the clinic and United Healthcare, but the issue has still not been resolved. Most recently, we even received a past-due payment notice for a visit that never happened. This has been a very frustrating and unfair experience. Stay away from this place! read more

I'm type one diabetic and assigned to Patrica Park by tricare. I don't have issues with the doctor herself but I'm leaving a review to hopefully get a response. Insulin keeps me alive and I need these prescriptions sent it. I had express scripts (my mail pharmacy via tricare) send a request for a 3 month refill on 1/27. The office still has not responded. I have called and left SEVERAL voicemails and have no response or call back. I never get a live person; only AI then voicemail. I am not dangerously low on insulin. I've never been in this position before but I need a prescription to get insulin and with tricare, can't easily change my provider. I am going to start rationing insulin over the weekend and then go in person on Monday but I'm honestly extremely worried. This is a life threatening situation if I run out of insulin. read more

Unfortunately I have to echo the sentiments of many of the complaints on here in regards to the lack of professionalism of the office staff. Most of the doctors are great but the office staff is rude and unhelpful and overall poor communication skills. It's pulling teeth to get basic questions answered and things that should be straightforward turn into a back and forth. It's too bad because they have great doctors and surgeons. read more

Pricilla White is AMAZING. Other than that this place is a dump. Never answers the phones or their voicemail is always full. Cancels appts and doesn't reach out to you after you try to reschedule. Multiple hoops you have to jump through to speak to a live person. Receptionist or schedules over the phone are extremely rude. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I have to get colonoscopies every 5 years due to family history of cancer, so I've been to a few gastroenterologists over the past decade and a half. I have been trying to obtain my medical records, which are time-sensitive and urgent, and this office has been completely unresponsive. I've called multiple times over several weeks and even tried reaching different office locations, but I haven't been able to get through to anyone. I've also received no return calls or emails. For a medical office, this level of inaccessibility and lack of communication is unacceptable--especially when patients are waiting on important health information. read more

The only way to get attention seems to be showing up in person--but even then, the front desk staff are rude, unwelcoming, and never smile. I had an appointment for a Fibroscan today. I was surprised that they're located within the Loma Linda Hospital on the 5th floor. I walked in and was greeted nicely by the young lady at the reception desk. She took my name and asked me to take a seat. I waited approximately 20 minutes before I was called back. Hector was extremely nice yet professional and explained to me what to expect and how the procedure is conducted. It was noninvasive and pretty quick. They have THE WORST phone system ever!! My pharmacy & I have been trying to get a hold of them for a week via phone and fax and IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SPEAK TO A PERSON IN THAT OFFICE!!! The doctor wants me to take rare meds but they wrote the prescription wrong and now they can't be gotten a hold of to refill it properly. It's physically hard enough for me to take these meds but now the stress of going through all this to get it filled is RIDICULOUS!!! Besides all that, THEY ARE BOOKED 4 months out. I had to call back numerous times to make an appointment. I liked the doctor but she's not really willing to figure out the "why" to my issues. My other doctors & I think it's important but United Medical Doctors doesn't seem to be interested for some reason. Very disappointed. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Eastman and Dr Hong for since 2005 with regular EGD & Colonoscopy's for every few years. My last visit was April of 2022 and was told to schedule 1 year later. Over the years I have had wonderful service and have been very pleased. However, something has happened. Dr. Eastman retired and everything has gone downhill. I have made multiple calls, sitting through long introductory message, never reach a live person, told to leave a message, never any call backs. Not sure what the problem is. They literature says they have expanded their services but they are providing no services to me. Maybe they have taken on too much? Maybe making so much money they don't care. I had a consultation with Dr. Burgess to discuss a surgical procedure and really like him. He was so great that I also decided to see different doctor about getting a colonoscopy. The PA for Dr. Schultzel was also really great and I was so happy to find good doctors for both of my procedures. Since they were so great, I also decided to schedule a consultation for Dr. Miller to discuss GERD issues. When it came time to book my procedure. I was told that they have a surgical center in nearby Temecula but was immediately told that they were "not allowed to schedule United Healthcare members" at that center because UHC doesn't pay their authorizations. At no point was I told they were OON, and the center still shows up as a INN location for my plan. I was so disappointed, that I ended up canceling all three of my follow up appointments. I did not want to travel over 70 miles to San Diego to have my procedures done at Sharp. It was a huge let down. read more

Finally had the colonoscopy. Had to dig them for a follow up consult with the doc for results...never happened. Really... I don't know how they retain patients. See my next review on their Podiatrist....unbelievable. Visited Dr. Meneely, Podiatrist, on May 23rd. Paid $450.00 for foot inserts. 2 months later and no product. When I called them, they're very nice and promised research and a call back which never, ever happens. Last promised call was Friday, July 26. Crickets. Between the colonoscopy experience and the podiatrist experience, I must state that these folks are the absolute worst! If they are referred to you, as they were referred to me by my primary care doctor, I would stay away from them. read more

Vance Johnson was HOSTILE HATEFUL and MEAN at appt for back issue- he scolded me for not saying good morning and my bad attitude. Yelled at me and said you are not getting better you are getting worse! He did not offer to help me in any way. No compassion or empathy - said he would never operate on me! Told him i was in pain so my attitude may not be the best but he did not care. I served 23 years in military and should not be disrespected like that especially in front of my wife. HORRIBLE LITTLE PERSON WITH ANGER ISSUES - he made it personal the way he spoke to me. Johnson is a disgrace to treat any patient that way - needs to learn to control his anger. read more

There's a reason why this place has 2.8 stars. I've had horrible experiences multiple times. Their customer service is horrible, they've scheduled appointments and I've shown up and the building was closed, no apologies, and then still took over a month to schedule a follow up because they over looked me, and after MULTIPLE tests AND MONTHS, they don't have one single diagnosis! But today when I was taking my breath test, this was the last straw, they over booked and the whole lobby was full and I'm having to stand for an hour because there's no where to sit and I asked for an extra chair and they said there isn't any and when you go in to take the breath test every 15 min, I clearly see 4 empty chairs in the hall and two more in one of the offices that's been empty and I asked the young lady with the grey scrubs and brown curly hair if I can use one of their chairs and she was rude from the start, and she said no they are needed for checkout (I was there for an hour and only one of those chairs were used) and I asked if I can sit there until someone needs it and she rudely said no! I said I did not want to stand for another 45 minutes and she said that's fine you can leave, so I left and I will NEVER come back here. Their doctors have missed my last three appointments and Ive lost 80 pounds because of my recurrent ulcer. Nothing works. They didn't notice my ulcer until after the endoscopy so no biopsy was taken. I can't get a hold of anyone but they're outsourced appointment center. I need surgery on my ulcer ASAP. I literally have lost my job because of my ulcer. How much weight do I need to lose? This place is the epitome of a dystopian clinic. I had a scan with them last year that showed serious problems. They never called to schedule a follow-up. I had to ask my PCP for another referral; but I spent all afternoon in phone tree hell and was never able to schedule an appointment. I was transferred to the wrong county and disconnected multiple times. I got a real person once, and she put me right back into phone tree hell. I would never trust them with my care. I am putting 1 Star, ONLY because of Dr. Rhee who is absolutely wonderful, I am sorry to have to associate this with her; I did call her office on 02/17/2020 and told her staff that if this was not resolved I would be filing a complaint with BBB and submitting both Google and Yelp reviews - 4 months of patience was enough, they have stolen $364.33 from me. Here is my complaint to the Better Business Bureau TODAY Complaint Type: Billing or Collection Issues Description of Complaint: 10/11/2019 = Preventative Colonoscopy Performed / Preventative equates to a ZERO insurance deductible. 10/31/2019 = Appointment for results, front desk says I own them $364.33 / I ask why, they say that is what your insurance company came back with. I pay it that day. 12/19/2019 = Receive a bill from United Surgery Center (owned by United Gastroenterologists/aka Temecula Valley Digestive Disease Consultants) in the amount of $1453.14 - called surgery center to ask why when this is supposed to be preventative/zero cost - they stated that they "entered the wrong code when they submitted to my insurance, they coded it diagnostic instead of preventative, we will resubmit, you do not owe the $1453.14" 12/19/2019 = I call the doctor's office to ask if the reason I had to pay $364.33 was because it was coded as diagnostic and not preventative - they put me through to the billing department "yes, it was put through as diagnostic I (Cecilia) will re-code it and resubmit it today" I asked for my refund of $364.33 since it was obviously their mistake "No, sorry we cannot refund you until insurance settles" 01/17 and 02/07/2020 = Called billing for status "still pending" 02/17/2020 = Call insurance and am told "nothing has been resubmitted we show it as diagnostic" 02/17/2020 = Call Dr's office, Tyra took notes and emailed her boss, Judy Williams which include my phone number to please call me - I also called and left a message for Judy Williams. 02/20/20 = Still no call, no email and THEY STILL HAVE MY $364.33 Desired Settlement: Contact by the Business Desired Outcome Description: I want a call from Judy Williams, I want my $364.33 refunded to me IMMEDIATELY - they have had my money for four months while their billing department has continued to LIE about the re-submission with the correct code. read more

I have had the absolute worst experience here after seeking help for my severe Sibo symptoms. First off, my appointments and experiences with Dr. White have been extremely disappointing and stressful. She never made me feel at ease and from the moment I met her, she spoke to me in such a derogatory way. I knew I needed help and was desperate so I continued care. I got scheduled an endoscopy at 9 am and didn't get seen until 1230pm and didn't leave till 215 pm. That wasn't the worst part, the test I desperately needed, the soonest date was 2 months out. I held that appt and waited patiently as my symptoms only got worse. I had a telehealth appt with Dr white before my test to go over my labs. At the beginning of our appt, my 1 year old daughter fell and ripped open her lip and was crying very loudly, and had to wait about 15 min. She seemed soooo annoyed, and kept insisting she was looking at some of my labs my primary sent over that she didn't need to see but noticed i had high levels for rheumatoid and that I needed to go see a rheumatologist and because that is not her specialty, she can't help me. I was so flustered and confused by the incident with my daughter, I almost believed her but asked her if she could let me know which exact test showed my HIGH RHEUMATOID levels...she then said let me check and said "sorry, I was looking at another patients results" and then blamed her confusion from all the "commotion earlier". She also irresponsibly prescribed me zofran not even knowing it would not be a good combination with the remeron I take at night. I only found out because my friend is a pharmacist. She is so careless, I always come prepared with my own research and drs should never make patients feel this way. AFTER my positive Sibo test, I cried tears of joy and got an appt two days later. I wanted immediate treatment and when I saw Dr white she said she would send abx, but due to the high cost and insurance not covering it, she would send a back up. When I talked to her medical assistant, because I knew I wouldn't be able to contact them if anything went wrong I asked her if she could prescribe me the back up. Miscommunication, the one I wanted got cancelled and the next morning when Dr white called me, she spoke to me with such disrespect telling me her license would be in the line if she prescribed me both antibiotics. Long story short, we ended up in a very heated argument and my husband couldn't believe this person was my Dr. I tearfully told her I just wanted to get better and she said she will send the abx against medical advice and hung up. I am appalled and so disappointed in the medical industry. This is sad news and will be reporting her to the medical board. read more

I was seen by Priscele White, NP-C in the Baxter Rd., Murrieta office twice. I did not have to wait long either time. The first visit was a consult, the second was a follow-up after I had both a colonoscopy and endoscopy. On both visits, I was very happy to be seen by Priscele! She was excellent in explaining the procedures and why they should be done (screening and family history). I always ask a lot of questions(!!) and Priscele was more than happy to provide answers. She never rushes and truly makes you feel at ease. I wish every medical professional had her wonderful, kind and caring bedside manner!! In fact, I wish she could be my primary care NP-C. read more

I was supposed to have a follow-up appointment with a specialist scheduled for a cancer screening by a medical assistant. I tried calling 3 or 4 times and was told I would hear back within two business days. Haven't received a callback. I hope that I don't have cancer, but because of these folks, I can't find out. Thanks for wasting my money and my time. I just pray to god that I don't have cancer! If you have any major problems, I would suggest that you steer clear because they don't care! read more

She has gone above and beyond the call of duty. I have been treated with such care and compassion. So far I've been waiting an hour and 45 min to be seen. I specifically asked when making apt if there are long wait times .We'll just when I was gonna leave they called me in but it was only to take my vitals! And then back out in lobby to wait again.. now I'm in a room but Waiting again . Please Tell us from go this will be an 8 hour event .. I gave 3 stars because the staff is really nice. Scheduling and getting my two procedures was quick and pleasant, yet my follow-up for addressing my prescription authorization was difficult as I could not immediately reach my nurse or doctor to explain my insurance situation and stomach discomfort. The ex across the picture of the doctor is your first clue, this office will waste your time. I strongly recommend going someplace else. The appointment call center which is a different location than the doctors office aren't in communication with each other so if you show up to your appointment, they might not have any record of an appointment for you and waste your time. I am writing this review after months of visits with Dr. Sara Chalifoux who I met through the office of United Gastroenterologists in Murrieta, CA. Without going into too much detail about the office and its staff that are stressed out and miserable and dealing with substandard equipment. For example, the CT scan machine kept crashing during my appointment for a scan and the guy that was running it had to reboot it several times and apologized, that the equipment wasn't being serviced as it should be. The guy commented that they won't even send someone to change the lightbulbs, and he had to buy a Starbucks to fellow employee's boyfriend for changing the lightbulb in his office. In addition a new employee was not capable of properly informing me how to prepare for a CIBO test. Overall, they seem really stressed out. A few times I saw patients that were upset with the staff. At first, I thought the patients were just grouchy, but later I came to understand why. About the doctor. The first in office visit, she seemed very attentive and even empathetic. She kept say, "poor guy" until I broke down in tears. Later, I found out it wasn't a good idea to break down in front of her because of what came next. During the appointment she told me she would send prescriptions to my pharmacy (Walgreens) then, when I followed up with Walgreens, they hadn't received any prescription from Dr. Chalifoux. So I called back to the office of United Gastroenterologists and they had to send her a text. After two days, I called them and they said they sent the prescription over to the pharmacy. So I went to pick it up, and it was only one of the two medicines she said she was prescribing for me. We had several online visits (like Zoom), she is very sweet and sorry about all her mistakes, including my emails that went unanswered, and promised many things that were never followed up with. Still no follow up and I've had to make many calls to the office and they keep telling me they will reach out to her. The doctor many times provided medicine samples which I later purchased prescriptions of. The samples I noticed, had expired over two years ago. Last time she sent me to do a test of my liver, I sent her a couple of emails and called the office after more than two weeks wondering what the results were and why I hadn't been contacted and again they never responded to my inquiry. The best thing I got from that office is that someone said, "I'll make an appointment for you." My response was, I should not have to go all the way down there unless there was something the doctor found and needed to discuss with me. Could she review and tell me either, everything is ok or we found something and you need to come to my office to discuss. The technician actually told me my liver was ok, "but I shouldn't be the one telling you this." I actually ended up searching online about how to read my own test results. After that, I asked the office to give me my files and they were happy to give it to me. It was the only time I received a fast response. At this moment, I tried for the last week to communicate with the doctor and her office for the past week, calling and emailing various times because I am almost out of medicine. Before this, the pharmacy tried several times and finally had to suggest that I try. I have one pill left and it is late Friday afternoon. Today all the office could tell me is that they would try to text Dr. Chalifoux. Good luck if you can find her. She might be a nice person, but as a doctor NOT. Please do yourself a favor and find a doctor who cares about his/her patients and takes their pain seriously. I will not accept any more "sorries" after posting this because I have had enough "sorries" and seriously need help. read more
